its not exactly. the busboy, finds out his real name, getting the wine and making change for $100, Kramer breaks up with George, winking at Kramer(small part), getting a wheel chair, hanging out with the mimbo Tony, thats just off the top of my head. So they have plenty of scenes together.
Kramer is fantastic. "Do you yearn?" So much better than to crave, like George. Anybody can crave. You don't even need to be human - any biological mechanism can crave. But YEARNING? It's a spiritual experience.
I love this scene. Jason Alexander and Michael Richards are both perfectly on point, and as starkly different as their acting styles are, they just jibe so well here. Hilarious. And yet, although this scene illustrates Kramer's eccentricity and tenuous grasp of reality, there's a touch of sincerity in it all. "Do you ever yearn?" I ponder that line when I catch this episode. And the thing is, I do...
I loved all the interactions that george and kramer had, it was like another side of sienfeld. They were both jerry's best friends, but they themselves didnt interact too much...kramer busy doing eccentric things and george in his own world..
@timowthie im very late but in terms of dictionary they're the same, it's more about feel. Just like how the word "rage" has a bit more of an impact than just "anger" To crave is just a base desire, the pursuit of temporary pleasures. To yearn is to dream, to express genuine, earnest desire for something.
As I was laughing my ass off watching this scene a few years ago I sadly realized all my answers were the same as Georges. In a strange twist this little comedy scene actually changed my life and got me off my ass to start "living". I still laugh my ass off when I see it though.
From "What you call wasting, I call living!" to "I like to get the daily news..." in only 40 seconds. This has to be my favorite scene of this entire show.

"Because you see George, having the keys to Jerry's apartment, that kept me in a fantasy world." I love that line. :D This is one of my favorite Seinfeld scenes of all time. Fuckin' love this show!
While this series was still fresh, there was a new medical condition described as Kramer Derangement Syndrome. Viewers would laugh so hard, they would either hyperventilate, or some other ailment would consume them. This is one of those KDS-inducing moments.
Kramer: Okay, like what? No, tell me! Do you have a job? George: No. Kramer: You got money? George: No. Kramer: Do you have a woman? George: No. Kramer: Do you have any prospects? George: No. Kramer: Do you have any action at all? George: No. Kramer: Do you have any conceivable reason for even getting up in the morning? George: I like to get the Daily News.
Watching Seinfeld makes me feel all warm and cozy. It makes me yearn for the 20th century, before the Internet and cellphones made people stupid, obnoxious and pathetic.
***** Amazing inventions, yes. But you can't say they have done nothing but improve our lives. That simply isn't accurate. The Internet and cellphones have done as much damage to humanity as humanity has benefited from them. Maybe even more so.
They've given and taken. Technology has improved lives, technology has also ruined lives. Aeroplanes has made people travel to beautiful places, it's also made warfare and dropping bombs easier for people to do, and increase fear of terrorist attacks and general stress, increased global movement also caused more conflicts of ideas, culture clashes. Computers have done sooo much for us, in information and accessibility etc, it's also increased rate of teenager suicides, abandonment from the world, increased general stress from social media, absorbing useless info, porn addicts, eyesight problems, cyber attacks, loss of jobs, anxiety attacks, increased fear of EMP bombs. Etcetera. Civilization gives, and Civilization takes, Modernity gives, modernity takes.
i imagine after kramer left in this scene, george ordered 1 black coffee and sat there staring at it until it went cold and then he drank it anyway because he couldn't bear to ask the waitress for another.

It's very rare to have Kramer and George talking with each other without Elaine and Jerry with them.

Agreed! There should have been more scenes between them. Especially, these 2 being top 2 actors of the show.

The apex of network TV. This scene. Right here. The high water mark. Best there ever was.
Completely agree. I've singled this scene out for 30 years as my favorite of the entire series, if not TV (at least sitcom) history.
''I craved. I crave all the time. Constant craving. ''

This is one of the best scenes of the whole series, “I can barely see ya George” hahaha I lost it 😂😂😂
I love how Kramer glances at George’s hairline before going to work on him
"Alright stop it Kramer you're freaking me out" lmao
I love how George is thinking about possible answers, and then finally realizes it's "No"' each time.

lol. As if George knows Kramer so well now that he he can predict his nonsense.
