    This scene can be reused, line by line, in a dramatic film and still have the same impact: it makes you think. That's the genius of Larry David -- instead of relying on the setup-joke-punchline of a hundred sitcoms before (and since), he simply wrote natural-sounding dialogue that was delivered with pitch-perfect timing by a stellar cast.

    • @Gaur1983
      @Gaur1983 4 года назад +33

      I believe this episode written and produced by Larry Charles (not the other slightly more famous Larry - Larry David) . Charles later went on to collaborate with David on Curb your Enthusiasm and direct Borat ,starring Sacha Baron Cohen ,among other things.
      Larry Charles: “I would compare writing Seinfeld to writing the Talmud - a dark Talmud. You have a lot of brilliant minds examining a thought or ethical question from every possible angle.”
      Always felt Seinfeld lost something ,when Charles left at the end of season 5 and regular Seinfeld director Tom Cherones was replaced by Andy Ackerman.

    I think about this in my own life. I do have a income yet staying stagnant in the position. There's little "fire" in my belly to be better. Am currently in martial arts, that's a plus. Besides that I feel empty.
    There's a yearning to escape this life, take my savings and move to Costa Rica; start a new life. What I know I need to do is choose where I want to be in a year and make small progress daily. That emptiness may or may not still be there the whole way through but I need to be more concerned about the goal.

    I like that George and Elaine had swapped keys. It made sense because Jerry was traveling all the time. So even though George and Elaine don't have much in common other than Jerry, they're more reliable to swap keys with. Plus, there was really no chance either of them would ever use the keys the way Kramer does with Jerry.

    It's funny, it's like real life.. it's always the people who are in dark times in their life who are telling the other people they are wasting their life 😆 Hypocrisy has no bounds.

      Its especially true when it comes to older men. Not just any old mem, but middle age men, usually under fifty five.

    Lmfao, this is some hilarious acting... how he brings these "no, no, no...". At first (as a kid) i didn.t like George very much but now, after watching it several times, i think he.s the best on the show in regard of acting. I love all of them, being different, Elaine is great, all are great, the Comstanzas are incredibly funny...and George has the greatest range, best lines and i can.t help to think it.s a little bit the depiction of Larry David himself
