Witcher 3 Tutorial: Hanse Farming for up to 2000 Experience and 40k-85k crowns per hour!!

This video's is a guide to farming the Mont Crane Castle in Blood and Wine. The main reasons for doing this would to be get either money, experience or both. Check out Ditronus’ video about the money farming aspect, because his editing is better than mine 😉.
Money is easy to get using this method. You just have to be high enough level and then kill all of the bandits and leave the leader of the base alive, and go into the portal in the basement to respawn the enemies (credit to Kelly Ziregbe). You then loot all of the gear that the bandits dropped and sell it to the various armourers and blacksmiths in Toussaint. They all give either the best prices in the game, or close to it. A few runs of doing this will net you enough to get multiple Grandmaster sets and be able to upgrade the Runewright and Corvo Bianco.
The other reason to do this is to level up prior to starting NG+. This is only for completionist type people, because if you've done both expansions before starting NG+ you'll probably be over level 50 at least, and will reach level 100 in NG+ easily.
However, if you are higher level when starting NG+ your Legendary Witcher gear in NG+ will be a correspondingly higher level too. For example, I wanted level 100 Grandmaster sets and level 100 Viper gear. Viper gear is level 39 in the regular game, so I'd have to be level 61 at the start of New Game Plus for the Legendary Viper Gear to be level 100 (39 + 61).
If you don't want to do the Hattori quest glitch - shout-out to Waxmaster Dab - (or if you've completed that quest without knowing about the glitch) and you don't want to do the Monster nest glitch, this is a good method. It's actually quite comparable to the nest glitch as it gets anywhere from 1600-2100 experience per hour.
Below is a quick checklist of the things to consider if you're using either the hanse/human method, or the Hanse Dog method (if you're only interested in the experience points, like I was).
DON'T KILL THE LEADER!!
Use the portal for respawning enemies
MadMonkey Monster Nests video is useful if you want to use that method instead
Waxmaster Dab Axii Hattorri method is an alternative
Slashing protection is important so possibly Undvik / Toussaint armour instead of Ursine, as shown here with Deflection
Preservation on your silver sword
Corvo Bianco experience bonus, Grandmaster Ursine sword/Belhaven Blade & exp trophy make no difference
Fixative and Killing Spree (even just 1 point)
Repair kits aren't necessary; still kill on Easy difficulty with the sword at 0% repair
The quickest way to move when overburdened is to punch or swing your sword, then mash B or Circle to repeatedly dodge/hop whilst in 'combat mode'. Ride roach in the city though.
For the dog method:
Dogs X3 spawn at the gate
Protection on chest armour instead of Deflection
UPDATE OCTOBER 2021:
A massively superior Experience grind has been found! If you want money, then grind the hanse base for swords to sell!

I agree; the Snowball dialogue is ambiguous AF, and imho the Sorceress Lodge meeting one is ambiguous too, to an extent.
The 'trash the lab' one is pure BS; that's never the mature or rational way to handle anything.

@@dripii9045 Long time ago I played it but I remember traveling all over the map to sell it. Novigrad is a great place to start, sell some hides at the armor smith at the square and both Inn's to sell the meat. Blacksmith Hattori also had a lot of money and there is another blacksmith at the fish market. There is a black market guy near the water on the east side of the city, close to the guy selling bottles. In Toussaint the Grandmaster crafter (called Lafargue I believe) he has the most money. Then you meditate for a few days and most merchants will have more money again so you can sell the rest.
So you found the cows near Feuille's farm? You can use Igni to kill them, take the meat and hides and they respawn again in about 10-20 minutes. Fergus at Crow's Perch can make you saddle bags with the most inventory space. Or you simply overburden and slowly walk to the travel point. Drop half of it there and travel back and forth to Novigrad. It is a bit of a grind but you can do some side quests in between. Good luck!

I ended B+W at 48 in my DM playthrough, I started Hanse farming immediately afterward. I am now 56. 4 more levels till 60 so I can get level 100 GM Witcher gear in NG+. The grind is beyond real.

Phoenix237 like you I’m an obsessive min/maxer. It would bother me for my entire life if I didn’t get the highest leveled gear I could possibly get. The suffering of hours of grinding is far preferable to disappointment and dissatisfaction with my build being incomplete.
@@listerfiend4577 I was an absolutely obsessed bloodlusty fanatic and I did like 30 levels on Skellige farming the infinitely spawning hounds of the wild hunt. I grinded too hard.
Always:
Step 1: Play Mortal Kombat theme
Step 2: Draw your sword
Step 3: FIGHT
When geralt shows up three times a day and each trip he has enough beauclair swords to outfit a small squad that geralt sells him the shopkeeper must be thinking like the tiger King I will never financially recover from this 🤣

Jesus, I was just doing this for the money. Now that you mentioned lvl 100 witcher gear, i think im going to be grinding for the rest of my holiday break.
It's not really necessary if you don't want to though, so don't worry about it. It adds little in terms if actual effectiveness.

Very good method, in death march ng+ i went straight with novigrad missions and didnt do velen, so at lvl 65 i started farming it, in few hrs got to lvl 81 and over 200k crowns

The fastest way I've found to do this so you can start new game + at level 62 is
1. Start the game on only blood and wine (The Hattori quest is available if you do this)
2. Complete blood and wine main story you should end up at level [48-49]
3. Farm the Hanse castle until the level 48 enemies no longer give you 10exp per kill level [53-54]
4. Go do all the monster nests and abandoned sites you can be bothered to do.
5. Start of swords and dumpling (respec if you need to to get Axii delusion to level three)
6. Get to the point in the quest where you have to go to the warehouse make a save and then go talk to the dwarf in front of the warehouse, take the Axii option but DO NOT GO INTO THE WAREHOUSE instead carry on running opposite to where you came from until the quest updates run back to Sukrus and then rinse and repeat till level 62.
7. Happy farming and enjoy your level 100 witcher gear :)
Yes Waxmaster Dab on Xbox mentioned the Hattori thing to me a while ago. I need to test it; that's an interesting idea to do it from a Blood and Wine new start!

I have recently gone back to doing this and have been getting upwards of 2000 experience per hour (108 exp in 6 minutes!). I have revised the description and title to reflect the higher amount that you can actually get. I've also tested a Conductors of Magic setup, but the Whirl one still works marginally better.
Phoenix237 would you recommend the dog method over human in the hanse base if doing purely for xp?

I am using this method it's a nice way level up and thanks for the video it's a excellent guide 👌.I want to reach level 70 only because in that way the last mission in main campaign will be level 100 now call me obsessive hahaha

The way i farm this castle is aggro all the bandits than run into the small building below where the leader is than use whirl once all of them are in there.
If you kill the guard with the torch you can light the signal yourself with igni.

I don't know if you already know about this, but I've found a spot in Toussaint which consistently spawns 3 bandits each time you meditate. Its on a hill north of Fox Hollow. I recognise it's probably redundand due to the hanse bases, but I still think its a nice spot to farm xp, crowns and levelled swords to sell on later

Is it still possible to reach level 61 even after doing EVERY single activity there is in the game? I'm level 53 and I really wanted to reach level 61 before i start new game plus...
You can do it grinding his way after doing everything else if you really want to. It doesn't make much difference tbh in the grand scheme if things.

Will the Usine armour be lvl 100 regardless of what level you start NG+ at?
Tim Nergaard no because grandmaster ursine amour is required to be lvl 40 and if you start a new game plus lower than lvl 60 or 61 the amour will not be lvl 100. for example it takes other 40 lvl so if your level 50 and start a new game plus the amour will be 90

SpoogeMcduck well I did this farming a month ago and I think they stop supporting the game for Xbox one , PS4 , and PC in 2018 so this farming technique will never be patched so I think your good

I watched this video a couple weeks ago and started thinking about it last night - so I went and attacked this castle at level 29. The level 40 guys were each giving over fifty XP, including the level 40 dogs lol. But I forgot for like 30 minutes what you said about turning it down to Just the Story! Once I did that it was much easier. I have done so many things out of order on this playthrough, but I’m just trying to be 100% prepared for NG plus. I haven’t even met yennefer at the site of the cataclysm on Skellige yet lol but I got to level 35 last night. But this castle is definitely the best for farming XP great video, that trick to get them to respawn is worth a million crowns.

I actually wiped out the main base by accident when exploring. I saved the base with the grandmaster feline gear for farming.
Ah yeah, well as long as you've got one available then that's not too bad.
I have 2500 onions to use in my NG+. Grinded from 54 to 62. But real gamers grind to 99 before NG+ to get the Viper Silver Sword(req lvl 1) to level 100.
Lol, check out the video I just posted today. It's an incredible exp grind that someone found.
And here I was thinking I was the only one who "figured" this out. :) I did however get tired of being encumbered from all the sword drops so I just got a mod that allowed me to carry about 9k weight. Yah, probably a "cheat" but it made running this soooo much less of a grind.

to get Iris, I must complete the mission in "Whatsover a Man Soweth"..which in new game requires level 34..
so to get Iris on lvl 100 in NG+, I should start my NG+ on level 66 right?
(in my calculation if I start on lvl 66 New Game+, the mission "Whatsover a Man Soweth" requirement will be lvl 100..so I can get Iris at lvl 100)

If Iris is like the Hen Gaidth sword (and in would guess that it is) then because it is a collectable relic sword it will scale to your level, but only up to a max of level 98. I'm not sure though, as the highest I've ever started New Game Plus at was 61, so mine wasn't max level for Iris.

does the grandmaster armourer reset his inventory so there isnt tons of swords in his inventory causing frame drops or is there anyway to reset his inventory
No, that aspect is annoying as hell ngl. There are other armourers and smiths who give the same.prices though; all the ones in the tourney grounds, the master Armourer and blacksmith who are not far from Lafargue in Toussaint Town, and at least one of the merchants in Francollarts (I think...it might be Flovive).
Their inventories do reset from what I remember, or at least it matters less of you slow their inventory down because you're not going to craft with them anyway.
guess i'm a little bit too late, but with Piercing Cold and max level aard, you can just run and use Aard Sweep, it tooks like 6 secs each time to kill those 3 dogs
Yeah, but if you use that consistently a few things make it slower.
1. Piercing Cold a guaranteed kill, meaning you sometimes have to cast it twice (or more).
2. Far more problematic is the fact that the Xbox One will crash if there are too many corpses etc, which loses all progress since the last auto save or whatever, which irritating.
@@DPhoenix237 well casting it twice won't be so problematic cause the stamina just instantly full even when i was in combat (guess it was a bug), and aard sweep doesn't cost all the stamina. but the Xbox problem really concern me, thank anyway
Omg, thanks dude, its a freakin old game which I just played now in 2019, and Im so into it, finished 1st playthrough but have no money lol this will help me a lot. want to build at least gm ursine b4 even though Ik it will become obsolet after NG+.
Grandmaster Ursine doesn't become obsolete in NG+ man; watch my New Game Plus walkthrough. I used the Grandmaster Ursine chest for 20 levels in NG+. Check out my Preparing for New Game Plus video if you haven't already done so!
Aight, nvm what i said about the kaer mohren tower, THIS now this is actually so much faster and provides so much more money, the only problem i got is that the grandmaster smith runs out of money before i can sell the whole load to him, if u know of a better merchant or of a way to reset his gold ( i know i can wait 5 days) i would be extremely grateful :)
The blacksmith and armourers in the Tourney grounds and one of the other towns (it's either Flovive or Francollarts, can't remember exactly...the one in the centre of the South East area of Toussaint) also give good prices and have a ton of money. The master armourer and blacksmith who are just North of the Grandmaster armourer give good prices but don't have much cash.
Meditating for about 5 days usually restocks the crowns for everyone, or fast travel to Vizima and back sometimes advances the time enough to do it too. Glad it's working for you 👍
@Fiend Herald You really don't want to sell things to Yoanna at Crows Perch though; she gives the worst prices of any master at armourer. She's the cheapest for dismantling though. Hattori is good but doesn't give as much as the Toussaint lot.
hey cool video, i'm at level 56 after Blood and Wine.. If i grind it upto 61, and then start New game plus, will the legendary grandmaster witcher gear be at level 100? More importantly will they be the best gear in the whole game then, I dont want any random gear or blacksmith to have a better gear than my level 100 legendary grandmaster gear!! Also, what happens for the second new game plus mode, I have to craft again all these gears?
The "Swords & Dumplings" (Hatori) XP exploit works but CDPR has set up the quest to troll players who uses the exploit - each time you use Axii to manipulate the dwrf, a key will be put into your Quest Items invenvotry with a weigh of 1.00. One level requires approx 50 times of Axii. So you rack up keys and inventory weight pretty fast and eventually, on console, the game crashes each time it tries to load your quest titem inventory, or you become overburdened. Since quest items can't be removed from inventory (neither dropped or stored) you can't really do much about t. So use the exploit wisely.
Dang, I was just playing, and cleared this base already :( How good are the other Hanse bases for farming?
They're fine, I much prefer the one to the far north (the outside one, not the one in the cavern) but the only problem is that you have to fast travel away and then back there to respawn the enemies. It's still very good for money, but it's slower relative to this one for experience if that's what you want. There is a Nekker monster nest which is a little quicker for experience (if you've not destroyed it) in the very north of the HoS area; there are RUclips videos of that too.
Would the XP bonus from the bookshelf at the estate provide any additional XP here?
Sadly not, I've tried every method of boosting experience further but can't get it over 2 exp per enemy.
What's the name of the chest armour and trousers that Geralt is wearing?
I think it's the Toussaint Captain's armour. I can't remember exactly what it is called, but it's the better one of the medium Toussaint armours.
The trousers are the level 35 Nilfgaardian trousers from the Crow's perch merchant.
Correct me if i am wrong but having the same armor item on a higher lvl only changes the armor amount and not the other attributes like 20% dmg reduction on slashing damage for example , yes? If this is the case , then having a lvl 100 witcher set instead of lets say 90 makes no difference at all . The more damage an enemy does the less value you get from armor points. Instead , on high amounts of damage taken , the most damage reduction actually comes from attributes such as x % dmg reduction from monsters. Same case for the weapons since no one really uses witcher set weps , all the builds i ve seen go for relic weps , so the 100lvl feline steel weapon wont do any good because it wont be used.
Yes, you're 100% correct about the armour rating. It's the resistances that count more so the difference in armour rating for the Witcher gear is negligible.
It matters for the swords a lot more. Bear in mind that until I had done a playthrough starting at level 61 and then later compared it to Clint Benson's level 100 weapons when he'd started at s higher level, noone even knew that stats scaled past level 100.
In absolute terms the highest damage versions of level 100 weapons are New Game Plus level 100 weapons on a playthrough that was started at level 100, because the Legendary Grandmaster Witcher swords would be level 140 damage and TSKK would be level 148 damage. The Witcher swords would deal higher damage for things like Conductors of Magic; Sujiren did another Reddit post on it for his build.
It's debatable how much this is even worthwhile though; there seems to be some similar enemy scaling mechanic according to the people who have done the insane grind to level 100 before starting New Game Plus, but I don't have the time (or, currently, the inclination) to do that grind and test it thoroughly.
This video is mostly for the money part; I became less enthused about the experience gain once I found out about the scaling issue.

I m plan to craft a couple decoctions that i m missing and my last grand master set . Then i ll farm some mgens to unlock the mutaskill tree and also make sure i didnt miss any skill shrines and then of to ng+ Thanks for the guides m8. Subscribed By the way , i hope the game really gets harder on ng+ cause right now death march is a joke. I wish there was an enemy scaling for +10 lvl higher than Gerald's

After doing this for a bit of time, I have about 15 horses hanging out in the first section clogging up the area and getting in my way. How do I get rid of them?
Hmmm, I haven't ever encountered that problem tbh. When the screen starts getting full I fast-travel to Velen or Vizima and back, usually sorts it for me.
Oh yeah, thanks for the thought. I DID try to fast travel away from the area, but always stayed somewhere in Toussaint. Didn’t even think of actually leaving Toussaint. Sadly that didn’t work either. Was hoping that would have done the trick. Oh well. Thank you for trying.
To be honest the horses being there doesn’t really bother me. The occasional knock down from a kick doesn’t really bother me. What bothers me is the loss of exp. While I’m running back and forth from outside to inside, killing dogs outside, killing dogs inside, most of the time I’m running back inside the dogs have already respawned and have started to attack the horses there. Almost every time I can get one of the dogs, but the other two end up getting kicked to death. Stupid horses! Stealing my exp. Anyway thanks again for the response.
How far can you level if you leave all the Abandoned sites and monster nests till the end? Cause in my last run I did them as I came across them but also outleveled a lot of quests, even mainquests that usually give a shit ton of xp...
It doesn't make a huge difference; in my first playthrough I got to level 53.
My Death March March playthrough from a fresh start, I ended up level 54.
My playthrough I did when doing my Death March walkthrough, I left the Abandoned sites and nests until last, and reached level 55. So it doesn't make s huge difference either way
will equipping weapons that grant xp boost against humans and non humans + well rested bonus and trophies with xp boost against humans help me level up faster?
No, the exp per enemy is too little for it to make a difference.
Between the drowners, hanse base and nekker nest which is the fastest?
Depends which Nekker nest. If it's the Hearts of Stone one, then I think is probably the quickest with the correct setup.
For the Velen respawn Nekker nests and the hanse base, I think hanse base is slightly quicker.
As for the drowner method, I've never really tried it so I'd have to figure that out tbh.
I'm on ng+ and I'm trying to wear the bear school gear but the grandmaster version is level 87 and i was on level 73. I farmed the ever living shit out of this place and got to level 80 in hour
Tip: It's better if you go to toussaint when you're 5 or 10 levels behind to get more xp. Use a sword and a trophy that gives bonus xp on humans
Hi man,love the guides! I just wanted to ask if I do this till lvl 60-61 like u did won't certain items and enemies be over lvl 100 on my ng+? Like the toussaint still sword being 108 if I start ng+ at 60 or did the fix that?
They fixed it, mostly.
The enemies are capped at 105 and the gear at 100 so you can equip everything. Weirdly the stats keep increasing over 100, so your Toussaint Knight's Steel sword would have level 108 stats but still be level 100.

@@stavrosotinane8739 Yes, I know a few people who've actually done it. However, there seems to be a similar sort of mechanic for enemies so it's debatable if it is worth it imho. I've never done it myself, highest I've got to so far is 64 IIRC.
@@DPhoenix237 wow - even after the patches there are subtle details. So is the logic of getting to lvl 64 so that the grandmaster STATS move up towards lvl 105 equivalent STATS? And after getting over lvl 60 - will there still be far better than grandmaster witcher gear in Toussaint on ng+ ?
Nah man, the logic of level 64 was that I was debating going to level 100 and then got hella bored 😆
EDIT: Depends what you mean by 'far better'. Swords, yes. TSKK and the like will be more damaging than Witcher swords still.
Armour? No. I'd argue none of the gear in the game is better than Witcher gear because of the resistances etc.
For Xp gain, You can just go over to the entrance gate (after you kill all the humans after running back from the portal area)
..there will be three dogs outside (just to the left of the map) kill them, go back inside and three more dogs will be by the wagon thing, kill them and three more respawn outside. I went from 88 to 100 in about 90 min- 2 hours….there will be dog tallows and raw meat Alllll over the place and note The dogs are level 95 in NG+ and 40 on the regular game i was getting about 20 exp per dog on death march when i was below their level.
That is literally in the video. It's far worse for exp gain than the Crossbow/drowner method that I did a video on later, though.

I wish i would have known this was a thing a few years ago the first time i played The game. Haha. Ill subscribe and stay subscribed for witcher 4 so i dont miss out on these things in the future

Hmmm, meditating for 5 days or fast travelling to a different area usually works. It's tricky sometimes. It only takes a couple of runs to get enough money for most things though.
Which enemy is the leader? I don't know which one I'm not allowed to kill to make the respawning work. Besides, great video and helpful indeed!
He's right at the top of the castle and has a health bar and stuff; you can't accidentally kill him, don't worry.
I think this is more interesting for money (bandits) or the dogs for leveling up Aerondite than XP. I have level 95 Witcher armor. I used GM Ursine chest for 35 levels and the Manticore pants and gloves and boots for 50 levels without an upgrade.
Yeah, the level of the armour is mostly superficial because resistances matter but armour rating makes virtually no difference.
Aesthetically I like the level 100 Geandmaster armour for it being nice and clean looking, but it isn't really worth it otherwise.
Depending on how much grinding you do, it can make a sizeable difference to the damage that the New Game Plus swords do, but again...it's not like the game is difficult anyway with regularly-levelled gear.
It's more practically useful for the money aspect.
I opened up the portal. If you are in it for the loot, the portal saves a little time, but not much. With 120 weight to pick up, I can only do two runs of the base before needing to fast travel to sell it. I see why the portal works for XP but not so much loot. I tapped out all the smiths and armorers in Toussaint after 3 runs and had to start selling to the runeright. He would be tapped out after 3 more runs. Meh I have plenty of coin. Considering W2.
Phoenix237 the % matters most (for that ursine chest is best if you are going to be hit by monsters 1/2 the time) thus armor upgrades are of marginal benefit IMHO, but sword upgrades do matter.

As of January 6, 2023 this still works. Just a small tip: if your inventory exceeds weight, I suggest to do a light attack so you may be able to roll.

I started playing this game in 2020.
for some reason, the bandits arent spawning for me. when i go to the eastern base the only guy there is the one with the torch, i let him light the fire then like 5 more show up with dogs and that's it. similar to the north base except nobody shows up after the fire is lit. on my previous playthrough there were hoards of them, idk what's happened
anyone know how to fix this?
If I use this method , can I reach level 100 on my base walkthrough ? and if that's the case , What's the difference between starting a ng+ on lvl 100 and lvl 61 ? Can you do the quests in the order you like since the max quest lvl is 100 no ? sorry too much questions but I hope someone has an answer
Yes you could reach level 100, but it takes a longgggggg time. Like, 50 hours or so.
And yeah, you could do the New Game Plus quests in virtually any order, except Blood and Wine isn't available until you've completed Poet Under Pressure.
All gear would be level 100 too, so you could use any gear at any level; Legendary Grandmaster gear would still have the best stats for the armour, once available.
If I ever did it, I'd do White Orchard, then get all the Places of Power and go right through Poet Under Pressure and then go and get Legendary Grandmaster gear asap. I don't know if I'll ever waste the time to level it up though tbh.

How do i activate the portal
took me about 6 hours to go from 53 to 61 using this method i actually found that the experience boost from corvo bianco and a trophy on roach was helpful it got me between 20 and 40 extra xp per run. In new game plus i went straight to novigrad to do the dandelion quest so i could go to touissant early and have been farming this place on deathmarch and get 800 xp per run or 1200 with corvo bianco and trophy bonus which makes no mathematical sense since it should only be a 10 percent bonus. it is definetely faster to fight the dogs anyway especially when you are underleveled. I have complete ocd and want to have the level 100 grandmaster gear when doing all the main quests so ive been leveling up by doing this instead of quests because i am insane!!!!
This doesn't seem to be working for me anymore? It was working a few days back but, I'm doing it right now and I'm not even level per hour as I was before. I'm just a bit confused as it's only been a couple of days since I last played & it was working fine.
Hmmm that doesn't make sense to me; they won't have patched this game now, patches were finished with 1.62 as far as I know.

I took a break from the witcher for a few days, came back and started collecting the gwent cards. Then decided I need to prep for NG+ so I went to the location to rack up xp/money & simply I wasn't leveling up whatsoever... but previous days before I was at least leveling up an hour so I'm not sure.
Seems to still be working in 2023 after the 4.01 patch thankfully. Happy farming fellas!
I was wondering because after doing this for awhile enemies only come after you when u let the guy light the torch for reinforcements and I am only able to fight the reinforcements. Is their a way to fix this
I just hit level 60 today using this method, gonna get to level 61 then pick up the Hen Gaidth sword and I’m off to new game plus. Also I don’t know if you ever thought about doing this but I have been leveling up Aerondight on the Hans dogs. Whenever I would finish a run that resulted in a level up, I would just kill the hans dogs at the end of the run with Aerondight, it literally would only take another 2 minutes or so to level up Aerondight this way.
That's a good idea about Aerondight, if you want to get it earlier. I just prefer leaving it and getting it later so it's already a higher level and it doesn't need levelling until NG+. Good job on level 61, glad you found this useful.

For some reason when I go to sell the maces and swords to the grandmaster shopkeeper in Toussaint, they only sell for 10-25g. Is that normal?

If you've killed the leader the bandits won't ever respawn.
Clearing the Hanse base is part of the Knight for Hire quest so you've possibly done it as part of that? There are 3 hanse bases in total.

The highest enemy I have seen is if you beat the game at lvl 100 then get to lvl 100 on new game plus. Redskull enemies reach level 115. Could be higher but this is the highest level I have personally seen.

Only very slightly; the swords are a little more damaging being the main thing. It doesn't really matter, I just like seeing level being 100 mainly.

How many hours took you the farm?
OR... Start a new game with JUST Blood and Wine active. It starts you at either 32-34, but you can literally just pause after it loads, save the game, quit to title menu, and then use that save to start on NG+.
I DO NOT recommend this for new players as it will ruin your first experience. I just lost my original save so it saved me from having to clear the game once to get to NG+ and play it ALL THE WAY on DM since my daughter switched my saved file years ago and there was nothing I could do to get the DM achievement after it’s on any other level after DM. 😂 😔
(recommended that you get the DLC swords before NG+ if you care about levels and here’s where Death March becomes a bit easier since you’ll have all G’s main abilities unlocked at the start)

Ive found a better method in velen, ursten, infinite drowner pool. Same like yours must be on the lowest difficulty so 2xp each kill just have gen skill which allows to shoot two bolts and go the lake, go to the middle of the lake in between two buckthorn and turn on enemy lock on and simply just spam your crossbow, 2xp each second excluding the time where you go up for air another mention for builds use all your points on alchemy skill with 5 levels meaning higher potion time for killer whale and use cocaktrice for 4 charges of killer whale my skill is all alchemy accept that one general skill for crossbow. Whats good about this is you can watch other things to not get bored as you simply need to just spam your crossbow and let the auto aim do the aiming also all enemies are level 8 and the deowned dead 18 so everything one shot. Conclusion possibly 2 or 1.5 levels in an hour. Edit: sometimes enemies will only spawn 2 instead of 4 sinple fix travel to toussaint then bbacj to ursten.
Did a test in 30min i got 1892xp considering that i made a lot of mistake within this period ex. I died and lost around 500xp had to pause timer. So technically ypu can level up within 30min
Did a test with dogs 15min i got around 500 so yeah
Edit: nvm what i said, 2 levels in an hour is impossible. leveled up 3 times using this way and my lowest record to level up was 36min. So around 35-40min to level up ,so the highest would then be 2800-3000xp an hour.
Edit 2: sometimes there will be only 2 enemies spawning take out the 2 shot crossbow skill so you can be more effective, more or less a full hour to level up in this phase, however the 4 enemies will start spawning again around 20-30min later and usually last 1 level up and more, so around 1 hour.
IMPORTANT: MOST IMPORTANTLY DONT USE KILLING SPREE AS EACH KILL WILL KEEP INCREASING YOUR CRIT CHANCE MINE GOT UNTIL 300K% THIS RESULTS A CRASH WHENEVER YOU FAST TRAVEL TO NOVI/VEL

Wonder what the difference is between level 94 and 100 legendary witcher gear.
If my calculation is correct then at level 94 it'll be 510 armour for the chest armour, and at exactly level 100 it would be 540 armour. For the swords each level adds an average of 8 per level for steel swords and 10 per level for Silver sword. That's the median of the range, with the lower range being 0.9090 and the higher range being 1.111 times.
The stats carry on increasing even though the gear is capped at level 100 though, so a sword or armour at level 100 in a New Game Plus that was started at level 80 would have higher stats than a level 100 version of the same sword or armour from a New Game Plus started at level 60. It's a slightly complicated mechanic.

Yeah, I normally fast travel away and back again (to Velen or Vizima) so the loot disappears after 5-6 runs if it's bothering me.

There are a couple, like the Cyclops in Skellige or the 3 Arachas in Velen, but you don't really need experience at normal levels because you'd just end up enormously overlevelled and quests would give you much less exp then.

You can do it at pretty much any level. There's not much point doing it before you've finished Blood and Wine imo.

No, the New Game Plus sets are separate armour sets (Legendary Grandmaster sets) and you need to collect the diagrams again by doing the sidequests, and those quest's level will be based on your New Game Plus starting level.
I would recommend getting the Grandmaster set that you want to use for the start of New Game Plus. Check out my Preparing for New Game Plus video.

Quick question... how do you cash in all this gear at once? Won’t the merchants run out of crowns? I know their crowns respawn but could someone give me a tip on how to sell this much gear quickly
Usually the Grandmaster Smith has a ton of money if you've crafted at least one set of the Grandmaster set.
The other two master smiths also have a decent amount of money, but also the blacksmith and Armourer in the tourney grounds give the same high prices and have a ton of money too.
Wait I already killed the leader of this base I think. What do I do?
I want to farm things but, this feels like a glitch and I'm trying to do a play through without using glitches. They are glitches you can do to get exp and money that are easier than this. So I'm torn.
Hmmmm, I don't consider this a glitch tbh. You're killing enemies for exp and/or selling weapons that they drop for money if needed. All pretty normal.
There aren't any better or quicker ways of making money btw. This far outstrips Pang of Conscience glitch and other things like that.
As for experience, once you're the same level as (or higher level than) enemies then you will always get 1exp, or 2exp on lower difficulties. The only better way to get experience is the Nekker nest in Hearts of Stone (if you didn't bomb it), or the Hattori quest Axii glitch. Now that one is definitely a glitch...
@@DPhoenix237 You are killing enemies that aren't supposed to re-spawn. They only respawn because you didn't kill the leader, so you've kind of tricked the game. At least, that's how I see it. But, I may end up doing it anyway.

Yes, but it is still only relative to your level so they won't be any higher relative to any other New Game Plus playthrough.
IMO difficulty in New Game Plus is more based on your build; you have to intentionally make it difficult by limiting your build or playstyle, or by using mods on PC I guess.

Yes, although it doesn't make much difference either way. The way the stat scaling works, it is really only done the aesthetics if seeing the Witcher gear being level 100. In practical terms it's the same.

I don't use the crossbow much; even with Cat Eyes it's much slower than using your sword.

Have you killed the leaders of all 3 bases? You can use on of the other bases if available.
For money, the Skellige Undiscovered locations are probably your best bet.
For experience it's trickier. If you've not destroyed the Nekker nest at the North of the Hearts of Stone area, RUclips videos of that.
If you've somehow not done Hattori's quest then use the Axii glitch there. Otherwise you're probably looking at farming the infinite drowners that respawn underwater off the West coast of Velen near the shipwrecks.

I just tend to ignore them; if you fast travel away from Toussaint entirely, and then back, it sometimes resets everything better than fast travelling within Toussaint.
