Mephala and Giselle is much better than Kyrre in Rampart. Kyrre gives you 1% to logistics every level-up actually. Yeah, it's confusing but it is what it is.
Actually, Tazar is the best. I made DEADLIFT map with Tazar as main hero, where he could get Level 86+. On that level he becaome literaly inviciable. Legion of azure dragons can not make more than 1 damage on Tazar's weakest unit. you can find it on maps4heroes site.
Sir Mullich is pretty much the best hero for every town except for Necropolis. +2 to unit speed is *massive* and something every town can appreciate. Plus starting with advanced Leadership, Mullich is the best choice for running mixed armies.
I’m a rampart user since year 2000 and I’ve always picked Kyrre as my main hero. You gotta love that +++ on movement bar. I also love air and earth mastery. You just control the map so easily.

My best mate was always Dungeon and ALWAYS used Gunnar. And on the few times I used Rampart I much preferred Kyrre! Good to see we knew what we were doing even if we didn't know it.
I think the best hero of Conflux should be Luna, who has Fire Wall specialty and Wisdom + Fire Magic as starting secondary skills. If you utilize the Fire Wall strategically, you can wipe out a big chunk of the map in the first week with her and only one sprite, which is utterly crazy.
Not to mention that Luna and Conflux heroes in general tend to get very nice boost in Spell Power and Knowledge when they level up, that and the fact that 4 out of 7 creatures of Conflux have immunity to Armageddon make them a real pain in the ass in magic warfare lol
galthran isnt that good with the cloak of the undead king, and a necromancy hero can raise at least 3x what galthran can, 3 skeletons vs 1 high attack and defence skeleton= 3 skeletons win
That Gunnar fanart is the most dapper looking minotaur I've ever seen (probably because of the cape). Also, glad to see I'm not only one who thinks Gunnar is best overlord.
I disagree with Tower: Cyra STARTS with Diplomacy and Wisdom aswell as having Haste spec which grants you 'some' of the fastest unit speeds in the game.
diplomacy is usually banned in mp. but you are right chain lightning loses its potency extremely fast in larger games. dealing 2k damage is nothing on late game armies and a mass haste would be much more effective

@@aleksandarjankovic39 You are completely oblivious to the well-known fact that late game diplomacy is the most overpowered skill in the entire game, just like necromancy. The former legitemately allows you to acquire stacks of bazillion creatures at various levels, which, as has already been pointed out, is purely reliant on luck. Yes, it can be countered - but only in case your opponent has diplomacy. If they get luckier with it, your diplomacy is countered. Don't you see the problem here? I fail to see how the argument "you do not want lose" makes any weight here. I mean, yeah, I do not want to lose the entire 420-hours long XL size match because my opponent got 1448 archdevils via diplomacy - that is some utter and imbalanced crap.
In my experience you should always focus on magic. Try to bring earth, air or whatever you are offered to master and you would be the most successful, but check the spells in the mage guild first. I have never been that effective with focusing on might heroes or might abilities.
Great list and i agree but here are few honorable mentions: Stronghold: Dessa, speciality logistic and start with logistic and wisdom. Inferno: Aiden, speciality inteligence and start with inteligance and wisdom. Necropolis: Vidomina and Isra, speciality Necromancy and start with advanced one; Thant, speciality Animate dead, start with this spell and often many other level 1 spells Dungeon: Jedite, speciality ressurection, start with this spell and advanced wisdom; Shakti, speciality Troglodites, start with basic offence and tactic and can have up to 3 stack of Troglodites.
Richi Abosuli yes and some heroes are banned in competitive games. For instance Sir Mulrich and Galthran as well as the logistic heroes so you must choose somone else.
Tyraxor is also another Stronghold hero to consider. He's got a less than optimal specialty, but he does start with Offense and Tactics, not to mention he is a Barbarian, which means the skills he learns as he levels up is more favorable, like Earth, Air, Logistics etc.
Very good video. However, I have to disagree on Solmyr. He IS the best hero for Tower, but chain lightning becomes progressively LESS useful, just as all the damage spells. In late game you tend to use mass spells, while damage spells make small difference. In early game it's the opposite, there chain lightning can be a game changer, especially if facing neutral shooters.
Yes Tower lacks good champions, that's the only thing that makes Solmyr good. Chain lightning is not that useful without mana sustain which you don't have early game, and as a spell it falls off a big deal late game because you can hit your own units most of the time when you'd like to use it, and when you actually can use it, the spell does not really deal that much damage. Not to mention you are very likely to have it in your town's level 4 guid anyway, because it's an air spell that Tower specializes in. Yeah... Solmyr is not that great. Honestly, I prefer to take any alchemist, especially some who gives you gold or other goods every day, since Tower has BIG financial problems, and alchemists have more evenly spread stats then wizards (wizards will almost never get a single attack/defense stat which makes their armies very weak in the long run)
Damage spells makes small difference in late game? You my friend has never had expert earth, the earth orb, high spell power and the Implosion spell 😉 I seriously agree on the chain lightning spell though, in late game its a killer if u use it at the start but you never do, you use haste or slow or something
@@NizziNine when you will have high spell power and earth orb it would be like week 2/3 so stacks of creatures would high, you wont deal enough damage with damage spell and if your opponent will cast haste/slow you are done
After playing more games, especially on random maps, there have been some changes to my decisions I pick the two best heroes from each city: - Castle: Sir Mullich and Loynis - Rampart: Elleshar and Kyrre - Tower: Solmyr and Neela - Inferno: Zydar and Ayden - Necropolis: Sandro and Thant - Dunegon: Jeddite and Gunnar (previously I confused Alamar's skills with Jeddite's XD) - Stronghold: Crag Hack and Dessa - Fortress: Tazar and Bron - Conflux: Luna and Aenain
@@racjonalizm_0309 Sorcery specialists are pretty bad. They give you 0.75% stronger spells every time they level up, at level 25 you will get plus 20% damage to spells. That's basically nothing. Sorcery is the most overrated skill in the game, it's actually really bad. It really doesn't make a difference.
I am surprised not to see more armorer specialty heroes here. The logistics heroes were a surprise, but Clausewitz is with you! (It was Clausewitz who came up with the quote that resembles "when talking strategy, noobs choose tatctics, pro's choose logistics" for RL wars)
@@PlanetZoidstar Haha it doesnt matter at all what hero you have if you got the cloak of the undead king. As long as you got necromancy 3 you are invincible after a few weeks of harvesting mobs.
Let's give a chance for the following guys: Castle: Tyris (tactics + horsemen boost) Rampart: Mephala (defence is exremely important for this town) Tower: Fafner (speed up nagas!) and Torosar (tactics - it's very rare for this town and very useful) Inferno: Calid (easy way to cerberus) Necro: Thant Dungeon: Sephinroth (intelligence, crystals -> beholders, harpy hags), Alamar (knows resurrection and can teach others) Stronghold: Shiva (she's nice), Terek (tactic + boosted haste: great combo) Fortress: Bron (best army on the start) Conflux: Thunar/Erdamon (the best creature boost ever [including +5 to damage!], tactics)
I prefer Darkstorm for Dungeon, not because of his speciality, but, somehow, he has some kind of hidden diplomacy where units tend to wander into his army more often than other heroes. Also his icon is just the coolest.
To me, in Dungeon Deemer is the best. His meteor shower is really powerful in the beginning of the game. With expert earth magic we can also gain Implosion and Town Portal, which makes playing it almost cheating. Let's add the building that gives double magic point and artifact merchant available in this city...
I also pick Deemer, because meteor shower is damn strong. Plus in nearly all games I got Fire magic and sorcery and combination of Black dragons and Armageddon is devastating. Also Deemer has higher chance to get Spell power (at least I feel this is happening, I would say that 50% of level ups with him are Spell power) so he is truly devastating mage.
@@simonspacek3670 Fire Magic is bad, and sorcery is an Awful skill. It doesn't make a difference. Whoever, Deemer is actually much better than Solmyr thanks to the skills and Mana Vortex and Meteor Shower is better in early game than Chain Lighting.
@@DOGEreal In Fire magic, you have Berserk and watching enemies army wipeout itself is kind of amazing. And as I mentioned, Armageddon can also solve a lot of problems. The rest of Fire magic is... well... not that needed. Maybe Bloodlust and Curse, but for that you need expert level and in that stage your enemy might have Expert bless.
Nice video, I like the thorough explanation. Just have several comments: 1. You probably won’t believe this, but Lord Haart is actually a very good Castle hero. I know most people disregard him due to the Estates specialty, but he almost always gets the best secondary skills (air magic, earth magic, offense, logistics...). He also gives INSANE income if you level him up a bit. 2. Ivor is a beast if you play Rampart and prioritize your elves. He gets a lot of attack primary skill points as well. 3. Neela needs some love she deserves. She’s basically the female version of Tazar, just sucks that she starts with Scholar. But with some luck (if she gets the other right secondary skills) she’s pretty much broken. 4. Gundula is the Battle Mage version of Crag Hack, and she also deserves more love. Though she’s not quite as devastating in the early-mid game, she eventually becomes a real beast with her Offense specialty as well.
For rampart I do not agree with Elves, because they are always the primary target, so I never have enough of them. But Ryland (if I remember the name correctly) has Dendroid and that is amazing unit. And Crag Hack has definitely a very good PR manager, I think Gurnison is better one, because Ballista with high attack is practically 8th unit.
I like play in HotA with Hero Eovacius with double clone 7th or higher lvl creatures :))) , but my favorite heroes are Isra and Tazar, because Fortress with Gorgons and armor are great. Maybe Conflux with Orb of Vulnerability is intense too.
Julie Johnson luna is good but fire wall is useless when you meet any ranger unit, grindan got 350 gold/day slow spell and basic earth magic, it’s make pixies + air elements strategy very useful, specially when you got expert earth magic you can go to any dungeon, he’s the best heroes of conflux even in max handicap
Julie Johnson I’m talking about early game too, I always played in max handicap random map, i tried both luna and grindan in 8xm8 map and grindan is better in my opinion, in very first week 350g/day is a big deal in max handicap
Do you know how much speciality of a hero influences on the level of units, that they are leading? You say it's +3/+3 for psyhic elementals, I wonder if it works the same with lower lvl units..
Chain Lightning is very magic intensive. Cyra's an excellent hero but Astral is the best. Advanced Wisdom and has a very good chance of picking up Earth Magic, enable Astral to have the best suite of abilities.
I usually play Necropolis 95% of the time and when I do I go for Septienna with the necromany boosting artifact + late game she will rez a crap ton of skeleton in no time and if you play with the combine artifact of SoD thne rez'ing liches after battle , yes thank you.
“I did not include some of the heroes, as they only appear in certain situations” Jared Haret, for example (only appears in _Adventures of Jared Haret)_
Castle: Loynis (starts with the best combat spell in the game, but it's a close call due to learning, so both Adela and Orrin are viable alternatives) Inferno: Ayden (Marius have armourer which gets in the way when you intend to do demon farming, other viable choices as starting hero are Fiona and Octavia, both are amazing secondarys) Conflux: Grindan (stars with slow and earth magic, other viable choices are Lacus, Luna and Brissa) Tower: Neela (suppose both Solmyr and Cyra are options, but not quite as good, while Fafner is a good secondary with scholar and haste) Rampart: Mephala (archery skill is a bit of a waste, since this town only have one ranged unit, other viable choices are Elleshar and Ryland) Necropolis: Isra (this was a though one, all heroes apart from Nimbus and Xsi are viable for different reasons) Stronghold: Crag Hack (an other hard one, Gundula almost edge it since she starts with slow and wisdom and same speciality, while both Dessa and Terek are very good) Fortress: Tazar (Alkin is a very close second, while Bron for the early basilisks and Andra are also good) Dungeon: Shakti (tactics and offence makes him good in the long run while starting with 80-100 troglodytes that have speed boost makes him very strong early on, Gunnar and Deemer are also great)
Prayer is awesome ofc but he starts with learning and wisdom as secondary skills. Wisdom is a given every day but learning is one of the shittiest secondary skills in the game (in my opinion) and that really brings him down
Okay here's my list Castle - Mullich OR Adela (Starting with diplomacy when you're playing impossible is v nice) Rampart - Kyrre (I don't play this castle much but when I do the logistics is too good to pass up) Tower - Cyra OR Solmyr ; Cyra has amazing diplomacy and learns air magic and earth magic really quickly and is better imo than Solmyr's chain Inferno - Pyre (Broken speed if you level her up enough and usually learns very useful skills) Necropolis - Thant (Starting with animate dead is amazing) Dungeon - Jedite (resurrection spam late game with like 30+ power and knowledge) Stronghold - Crag Hack (best attack period.) Fortress - Bron (Once again, starting with multiple basilisks can go a long way early game) Conflux - Ciele or Grindan (It's a tradeoff between the gold or the strong beginning spell)
Could you explain me one thing? Tazar is the best Fortress hero. He is considered to be one of the best heroes in H3. Why Mephala and Neela are so forgotten? Both three have the armorer specialty, so they should be similar (agree that learning is useless for main hero, but...). Kyrre and Solmyr are also good, but in my eyes, the armorer bonus is above them.
Tazar is better since fortress heroes start with higher defence attribute and also level it up faster making his speciality stronger then the other two
My fav for ramp is magic resistance specialist. But kire is great and also one choice of my and mephala has armorer. Inferno was good choice but zidar in bigger maps has devastating spells, also xeron has inferno. For many people not fav but inferno is actually more dmg spell than chain lighting. Chain has reduced impact on other units as it jump. Inferno has same flat dmg. Also he can teach it others. Specialist in any spell makes spell work better in low tier units now so much on high tier ones. Idk how others but I like battle mages and so choice is for me logistics specialist for stronghold. Battle mages upgrade stats evenly which makes them good casters and good fighters in comparison to other casters. All fighting stats they get improve with magic boosts. Or deboosts. For necro necro specialist or animate specialist. I like navigation specialist too in sea maps they travel insanely far.
I think the best of necropolis should be Isra or Vidomina, both of them can harvest skeletons faster than any heroes . Back bones of Necropolis is your number of skeletons not stats, one thing I like about Galthran : you can have 100 skeletons with him from the start, if you’re super lucky
@@fleeflee8328 nah I play Heroes 3 for a long times, I tested with many heroes, size or handicap has nothing to do with the numbers of unit, every heroes with specialty units from lv1 to lv3 have a max number unit from the start (except Bronn -Fortress can have max 6 lv4 basilisk ) lv1 is 100, lv 2 is 20, lv3 is 12
@@fleeflee8328 yep, because years ago my fav map is random tiny + no subterranean + queen handicap When I play necropolis with Galthran I always reload the map until I have 90 or 100 skeletons next step is try to buy another heroes with lv1 unit specialty (1 is from Fortress with Gnoll specialty - 1 from Dungeon with Troglodyte - 1 from Stronghold with goblin ) the last step is build a sacrifice hole, so basically if you're luck you can have more than 200 or may be 300 skeletons in day 1, in that way I can abuse all 7AI
The best hero for castle for me is loynis. Speciality is prayer spell. Once you get expert water magic and if you have archangels and you play first you are in huge advantage. Prayers include speed, attack and defense all in one
Wish I could get a legit free version of this game somewhere, it was great "Back in the day" Played a TON of it (and HOMM4 as well) HOMM5 just did not appeal to me for whatever reason and I never bought any expansion packs for any of them.
I agree with most, especially Castle, as their heroes are pretty mediocre for starting a game, except for maybe Valeska and Caitlin, and Sir Mullich can put Castle's units beyond their limits. But I have to disagree with Dungeon and Conflux, as their best heroes are arguably Jeddite and Luna. Jeddite is the perfect hero for preserving units with his resurrection specialty (only problem being is the inability to resurrect Black Dragons, as they have spell immunity). And Luna is great for starting a game as she needs only one Sprite to deal with 1-4 level units which have hand-to-hand attacks. This means that you'll be able to cover almost twice the distance because you'll have a standing army to deal with harder and ranged fights, town capturing, and dealing with other heroes, while Luna can collect resources for the faction.
Ryland is the Best Hero in the whole Game for Big Maps. With Diplomatie U can have the biggest Army for Free and with Leadership U dont have problem with mix troups.
I agree with u in most cases ...but i prefer orrin (castle) & zydar (inferno) & in tower , i prefer the hero who specializes in magi ( forgot the name, an old male hero)
Great video! But unfortunately I disagree with most of the choices for heroes. Like necropolis the best are the both physical and special heroes that have necromancy specialty to spam skeletons to the legions.
craghack is probably the strongest offensive hero in the game if you exclude necropolis heroes. +5% damage per every level is crazy. at level 20 his units would do like twice the damage compared to other same level heroes.
Yes it is but if I dont remember it wrong he starts with wisdom and learning as secondary skills, wisdom is great but learning... I guess thats one of the reasons he didnt pick him
True, but it's usually sill just a one cast and that's it. Unlike chain lighting of Solmyr you can't target multiple stacks right at the start you need to wait for them to gather. Gunnar with logistics is much more powerful especially in late game.
Tazar's ability can be applied on both melee and ranged while Crag hack only applies to the melee. But, even though I think Tazar is the best hero , I still prefer Alkin and Bron for fortress for the most of time.
Thant is the best Necropolis Hero (maybe the best in the game) and when he get some levels his Animate Dead-Spell is just overpowered. He and a big stack of Vampire Lords + a huge amount of Skeletons is just gg. The most battles in Early and Midgame you will win without any dead creatures.
Better than Mullich is Loyinis, mass prayer casted in 1st round give more speed, attack, defense, dmg (and often you can move many your heroes before enemies). Dungeons hero don't need logistic, dungeon hero need good mage hero with dimmension door, town portal (very nice are both ressurection heroes with early advanced earth magic). Logistic is very important for Stronghold and Fortress with weak mages. Stack thousands of skeleton isn't option for multiplayer or small maps, Thant is better options (best for recovery vampirs after high dmg spells). Heroes with inteligence have best hero bonuses, at 20lvl have 4x more mana (4x effect of knowledge, sorcery hero at lvl 20 give 1,3x effect of spell power). Money heroes are often better options for raised difficulty as first heroes.
Gundula is battle mage, which makes him worse than Crag Hack. Also on certain maps, Wisdom is pretty useless. Also Wisdom is the easiest skill to get, nevertheless.
@@mynamelong88 there are several ways Crag Hack can get water magic, like witch huts and magic universities. Yea, its great to have mass blsas and prayer, but I would like to concentrate on different aspects of my offense.
Valeska and Orrin are the best...every archers under him and her commader become very strong and are only heroes who can increse the level of Ballista after any battle...
Nah bro, seriulsly a pathfinder/logistics hero ? How about just getting Expert Town Partal + Expert Dimension Door. Also its quite a dissadvantago in battle, compared to heroes with Armour, Offence or Sorcery specialization
i.m.o adela the cleric is best for human creatures since she can be built into a mage/diplomatic getting free monsters and selling those off in other places when possible
I do admit that Cyra is probably one that can rival or match Solmyr and any other heroes from other town, as her speciality is Haste which makes her one of the fastest one in the combat. But truthfully, if heroes for campaign only is included, I think no one is better than Gelu and Dracon. I kinda disagree with hunnar being the best hero for dungeon, as for me, Malekith or Deemer is more useful. And for necropolis, Thant is undeniably powerful, which for me is the best one in necropolis.
I have played all towns and I think Castle-Adela Rampart-Ryland Tower-Cyra Inferno-Aiden or Zydar Necropolis-No doubt for Isra and Sandro Dungeon-Alamar in my oppinion Stronghold-Yog and Crag hack Fortress-Adrienne Conflux-Grindan (My cousin always wins with it no matter me or 1v7 with the computer)
Yup! I was going to say she is the best hero from Tower, Solmyr sucks. And what about Stronghold? How the hell it's not Dessa the best hero? The why was explained in Kyrre and Gunnar.
@@MoonChaser. She is still the worst of the top skill specialists. In fact, I believe Jabarkas to be a better bet for Tower then Neela herself, she already starts with Scholar and you will be lucky if that is the only crapy skill you end up with, while barbarians have a perfect secondary skill tree and much better primary skill distribution. In smaller doses this is true for Ivor and Annabelle too.
@@franciscojeronimo5881 in my most recent games with tower I went with Fafner as starting hero, and ended up using Wystan and Ivor respectivly as my main. Jabarkas would have been even better, probably the ideal hero for tower
When I play Castle I prefer Orrin since he specializes in archery and marksmen. And for Rampart I always choose Clancy because he is all about Unicorns.
Ok so Magic ele can't use teleport like Hydras so Ice/Thunder Elementals are much better. Also idk about the obsession with Logistics, Ivor is much better Rampart hero as he specializes in Rampart's only shooters, Elves. And Dungeon Deemer too, the Meteor Shower is real good.
I think Vandomina is the best hero in Necropolis. Sir Mullich is the best in Castle but you cannot select him at the beginning of the game, you need a luck to buy him.
Yes, I can see why. Necromancy is a must for Necro. True Sir Mullich is rare. I usually play maps that people made so the hero is already given, so I didn't really knew how much luck you need to have him.
I agree but at the same time almost all of those are banned heroes that shouldn't be in the game in the first place. FYI Mullich is banned, Logistic specialist are banned, diplomacy is banned, Galtran is banned.
Sir Mullich is the best heroe of the entire game, +2 speed is a permanent cape of velocity (also having the chance to carry the actual cape of velocity and 2 other artifacts giving +6 total speed!). It should be banned if you want a fair play. For the rest, Logistics, Armorer and Offence are essencial, ramparts also has another good hero, Mephala in armorer, towers has another armorer hero, Neela, but his secondary in scholar has totally ruined her as a main hero (stupid game designers), for that reason I edit my single player map with my desired hero with my desired main skills, hehe.
I can't see how is that an OP skill. Sure it's useful, but you can't use alpha strike strategy anyway because +2 is not enough to bring your entire army across the battlefield, only units who would either get there or almost get there anyway. You still need to use haste, so you could've not had that skill anyway. There are some more powerful skills if you ask me. Speed is good but it's not OP. I'd say Bron is the most powerful hero in the game. Using him to get level 4 units in day one, when your castle allows you to get level 6 units in day one as well is just broken and out of place. I've won waaay too many games with this strategy both gainst my friends and AI. You just start with Bron, get the second and third hero and give all of his units to Bron, recruit Wyverns and the rest of the army from your twon and you go straight for enemy town. If you play on small maps (Which I usually do, since big maps take days to complete the game) you can cover the distance in less then a week or close to a week, in which your enemy will most likely just invest in Capitol build and lose his starting army to nearby creeps. Then you arrive with your insane army (you use units from foreign town from the third hero to get through creeps without losing your town's army) and just crush him. It's too easy. Unless the enemy knows exactly what you are going to do and prepares for it this is a freelo.
Speed not only gives the distance, also the initiative, dragons can attack before archangels for example, that changes all because first attack means mass speed, mass slow, or mass prayer, making ALL your unites faster, having the first strike in case of haste, prayer, or tactics skill.
Sandro is my favorite homm universe character alltho in reality he has shit stats in gameplay. But definitely was my go-to character as a kid playing this.

Tyraxor is also another Stronghold hero to consider. He's got a less than optimal specialty, but he does start with Offense and Tactics, not to mention he is a Barbarian, which means the skills he learns as he levels up is more favorable, like Earth, Air, Logistics etc.
Ayden is amazing for Inferno.
I always choose Dessa for Stronghold :)
For Necro i always choose Thant
Neela is the best for late game Tower. Scholar is not the greatest secondary skill for a main hero, but her armorer specialty makes up for that.
Not too useful if the enemy comes in 1-2 stacks or is immune to lightning.
CASTLE - Adele - Comes with Bless - diplomacy and wisdom lets you gain to your army as you traverse
Not picking me for Dungeon...
_sad mino noices_
Thank you for posting my tunes and these memes. Very interesting narratives and information. Thank you. paul
The legend himself! Awesome music man! :)
After playing more games, especially on random maps, there have been some changes to my decisions
I pick the two best heroes from each city:
- Castle: Sir Mullich and Loynis
- Rampart: Elleshar and Kyrre
- Tower: Solmyr and Neela
- Inferno: Zydar and Ayden
- Necropolis: Sandro and Thant
- Dunegon: Jeddite and Gunnar (previously I confused Alamar's skills with Jeddite's XD)
- Stronghold: Crag Hack and Dessa
- Fortress: Tazar and Bron
- Conflux: Luna and Aenain
Why picking Alamar in Dungeon ? Basic Scholar is damn useless. If you like Resurrection, I would root for Jeddite.
@@alexandreoleksiak2387 Well...something is in here.
I dont know whether skeleton speciality is the best for necropolis. There is also liches and necromancy speciality.
I'd say Lich speciality if you have the Cloak of the Lich King. Skeleton speciality otherwise.
Vidomina all the way.
Thant starts with reanimate dead...
@@PlanetZoidstar Haha it doesnt matter at all what hero you have if you got the cloak of the undead king. As long as you got necromancy 3 you are invincible after a few weeks of harvesting mobs.
Castle - Orrin
Rampart - Elleshar
Fortress - Tazar
Stronghold - Crag Hack
Inferno - Zydar
Dungeon - Malekith
Conflux - Grindan
Tower - Solmyr
Necropolis - Sandro
Grindan isn't that useful, his only advantage is Slow as starting spell. Not for main.
@@modycebula8161 starts with earth magic to, makes sure you will have mass slow faster then any other hero
Yeeesss.. Malekith!
inferno- ayden
Monere starts with logistics and offence, not armorer.
Let's give a chance for the following guys:
Castle: Tyris (tactics + horsemen boost)
Rampart: Mephala (defence is exremely important for this town)
Tower: Fafner (speed up nagas!) and Torosar (tactics - it's very rare for this town and very useful)
Inferno: Calid (easy way to cerberus)
Necro: Thant
Dungeon: Sephinroth (intelligence, crystals -> beholders, harpy hags), Alamar (knows resurrection and can teach others)
Stronghold: Shiva (she's nice), Terek (tactic + boosted haste: great combo)
Fortress: Bron (best army on the start)
Conflux: Thunar/Erdamon (the best creature boost ever [including +5 to damage!], tactics)
Resource producing heroes are good as secondaries. For your mains you want logistics, attack or defense specialists.
I prefer Darkstorm for Dungeon, not because of his speciality, but, somehow, he has some kind of hidden diplomacy where units tend to wander into his army more often than other heroes.
Also his icon is just the coolest.
maybe it's the map?
Sir Mullich looks like Adam Sandler.
Just have several comments:
I like play in HotA with Hero Eovacius with double clone 7th or higher lvl creatures :))) ,
but my favorite heroes are Isra and Tazar, because Fortress with Gorgons and armor are great. Maybe Conflux with Orb of Vulnerability is intense too.
I make a list before watching the video:
-Stronghold - Crag Hack
-Inferno - Zydar
-Necropolis - Isra
-Castle - Orrin
-Fortress - Tazar
-Rampart - Kyrre
-Tower - Solmyr
-Dungeon - Gunnar
-Conflux - Grindan
luna best for conflux cause her firewall op early and mid game
Julie Johnson luna is good but fire wall is useless when you meet any ranger unit, grindan got 350 gold/day slow spell and basic earth magic, it’s make pixies + air elements strategy very useful, specially when you got expert earth magic you can go to any dungeon, he’s the best heroes of conflux even in max handicap
but firewall is an early game thing, u can do some op things with it ruclips.net/video/7NHbfRndpek/видео.html
Julie Johnson I’m talking about early game too, I always played in max handicap random map, i tried both luna and grindan in 8xm8 map and grindan is better in my opinion, in very first week 350g/day is a big deal in max handicap
did you watch the link? ill send you another, ruclips.net/video/s5hEh-MnIQ8/видео.html
Is there an updated video with the _Horn of the Abyss_ features?
I usually play Necropolis 95% of the time and when I do I go for Septienna with the necromany boosting artifact + late game she will rez a crap ton of skeleton in no time and if you play with the combine artifact of SoD thne rez'ing liches after battle , yes thank you.
“I did not include some of the heroes, as they only appear in certain situations”
Jared Haret, for example (only appears in _Adventures of Jared Haret)_
Castle: Loynis (starts with the best combat spell in the game, but it's a close call due to learning, so both Adela and Orrin are viable alternatives)
Inferno: Ayden (Marius have armourer which gets in the way when you intend to do demon farming, other viable choices as starting hero are Fiona and Octavia, both are amazing secondarys)
Conflux: Grindan (stars with slow and earth magic, other viable choices are Lacus, Luna and Brissa)
Tower: Neela (suppose both Solmyr and Cyra are options, but not quite as good, while Fafner is a good secondary with scholar and haste)
Rampart: Mephala (archery skill is a bit of a waste, since this town only have one ranged unit, other viable choices are Elleshar and Ryland)
Necropolis: Isra (this was a though one, all heroes apart from Nimbus and Xsi are viable for different reasons)
Stronghold: Crag Hack (an other hard one, Gundula almost edge it since she starts with slow and wisdom and same speciality, while both Dessa and Terek are very good)
Fortress: Tazar (Alkin is a very close second, while Bron for the early basilisks and Andra are also good)
Dungeon: Shakti (tactics and offence makes him good in the long run while starting with 80-100 troglodytes that have speed boost makes him very strong early on, Gunnar and Deemer are also great)
I thought the best hero for necropolis would have been thant. But I've found myself using might heroes more and more lately.
it is in my opinion also
CONFLUX Ciele- magic arrow bonus & Lunda - fire wall by far best heroes
DUNGEON - Deemer comes with Meteor Shower
That castle guy with prayer special is the best. Get expert water magic and all units including pikemen get across the map on the first turn
Prayer is awesome ofc but he starts with learning and wisdom as secondary skills. Wisdom is a given every day but learning is one of the shittiest secondary skills in the game (in my opinion) and that really brings him down
Orrin is underrated his shooting in middle/ late game is crazy. with bowl of sharpshooter he could kill dozen of enemies
you need tactics or speed artifacts for that to happen.
Castle: Orrin (can't play as Sir Mullich normally)
Rampart: Ryland (makes Dendroid Soldiers usable)
Tower: Solmyr/Cyra
Inferno: Zydar
Necropolis: Vidomina/Vokial
Dungeon: Jeddite
Stronghold: Crag Hack
Fortress: Tazar
Conflux: Luna
Cove: Eovacius
Orrin shooters deal like 500 damages from distance
Okay here's my list
Castle - Mullich OR Adela (Starting with diplomacy when you're playing impossible is v nice)
Rampart - Kyrre (I don't play this castle much but when I do the logistics is too good to pass up)
Tower - Cyra OR Solmyr ; Cyra has amazing diplomacy and learns air magic and earth magic really quickly and is better imo than Solmyr's chain
Inferno - Pyre (Broken speed if you level her up enough and usually learns very useful skills)
Necropolis - Thant (Starting with animate dead is amazing)
Dungeon - Jedite (resurrection spam late game with like 30+ power and knowledge)
Stronghold - Crag Hack (best attack period.)
Fortress - Bron (Once again, starting with multiple basilisks can go a long way early game)
Conflux - Ciele or Grindan (It's a tradeoff between the gold or the strong beginning spell)
Nice
best of Rampart is Ryland with diplomacy and leadership, and second is Ivor (+1 stast for elves and max 12 elves from 1st day)
rampart Ryland leadership and diplomacy
I disagree with necropolis since there's isra and for the magic part sandro
Thant and Isra
Back bones of Necropolis is your number of skeletons not stats, one thing I like about Galthran : you can have 100 skeletons with him from the start, if you’re super lucky
luck i don't think, could be the map and difficulty
@@fleeflee8328 nah I play Heroes 3 for a long times, I tested with many heroes, size or handicap has nothing to do with the numbers of unit, every heroes with specialty units from lv1 to lv3 have a max number unit from the start (except Bronn -Fortress can have max 6 lv4 basilisk ) lv1 is 100, lv 2 is 20, lv3 is 12
@@dungvuanh6417 wow never knew 100 was possible, did you get it on small/medium maps as well?
@@fleeflee8328 yep, because years ago my fav map is random tiny + no subterranean + queen handicap
When I play necropolis with Galthran I always reload the map until I have 90 or 100 skeletons next step is try to buy another heroes with lv1 unit specialty (1 is from Fortress with Gnoll specialty - 1 from Dungeon with Troglodyte - 1 from Stronghold with goblin ) the last step is build a sacrifice hole, so basically if you're luck you can have more than 200 or may be 300 skeletons in day 1, in that way I can abuse all 7AI
For good start:
Castle - Valeska
Rampart - Kyrre or Ivor
Inferno - Calh
Tower - Solmyr
Necropolis - Galthran or Thant
Dungeon - Shakti
Stronghold - Tyraxor
Fortress - Drakon or Wystan
Conflux - Grindan
Cove - Cassiopeia
Ryland is the Best Hero in the whole Game for Big Maps. With Diplomatie U can have the biggest Army for Free and with Leadership U dont have problem with mix troups.
I agree with u in most cases ...but i prefer orrin (castle) & zydar (inferno) & in tower , i prefer the hero who specializes in magi ( forgot the name, an old male hero)
Theodorus Greek name like some philosopher.
Zydar is beast. If used correctly his power is unmatched.
For me in Stronghold, Dessa is way better, but yes, Crag Hack is a very good hero aswell.
It's sadly not how crack hag works. It gives you bonus to the offense skill, so you will get 1.5% more damage every level up.
What about deemer in dungeon? Meteor shower is amazing early
Ivor and Kalt also for their respective towns in my oppinion
My personal list is:
Castle - Adelaide
Rampart - Kyrre
Tower - Solmyr
Inferno - Xyron
Necropolis - Sandro
Dungeon - Gunnar
Stronghold - Crag Hack
Fortress - Gerwulf
Conflux - Luna
Nah you are pretty shit outside of campaign...
Ballistics specialists are not so bad. I like them too. With high attack, precision, and archery you can had good harasser with 250 up early.

well Gundula is good stronghold character as well its like crag hack+ wisdom at start
Gundula is battle mage, which makes him worse than Crag Hack. Also on certain maps, Wisdom is pretty useless. Also Wisdom is the easiest skill to get, nevertheless.
@@babasemka crag hack cannot get water magic naturally but Gundula can. Imagine Bless or Prayer is used on HER troops I am supposed.
@@mynamelong88 there are several ways Crag Hack can get water magic, like witch huts and magic universities. Yea, its great to have mass blsas and prayer, but I would like to concentrate on different aspects of my offense.
I like battle mages too very balanced casters/fighters.
Valeska and Orrin are the best...every archers under him and her commader become very strong and are only heroes who can increse the level of Ballista after any battle...
I think that for Castle it's Adelaide, and for Dungeon Sephinroth, bc they both start with advanced wisdom and knowledge
Monere is not bad, but Grindan is one of the best heroes in the game. Starting Earth magic, gold bonus and slow. Everything you want, save logistics.
Nah bro, seriulsly a pathfinder/logistics hero ? How about just getting Expert Town Partal + Expert Dimension Door. Also its quite a dissadvantago in battle, compared to heroes with Armour, Offence or Sorcery specialization
i agree
Where is Luna?!
i.m.o adela the cleric is best for human creatures since she can be built into a mage/diplomatic getting free monsters and selling those off in other places when possible
And for necropolis, Thant is undeniably powerful, which for me is the best one in necropolis.
with Tower experienced players will go for Cyra and her Diplomacy, instead of Solmyr
Castle: Adela. Bless spec is a killer in damage output on castle units. Plus starting diplomacy...
Agree with most except Conflux, should be Luna or Grindan
My favorite hero Sandro from necropolis.
My best heroes:
Castle-Adela, Rampant-Gelu, Tower-Cyra, Inferno-Pyre, Necro-Sandro, Dungeon-Dace, Stronghold-Dessa, Fortress-Tazar, Conflux-Luna
I have played all towns and I think
Castle-Adela
Rampart-Ryland
Tower-Cyra
Inferno-Aiden or Zydar
Necropolis-No doubt for Isra and Sandro
Dungeon-Alamar in my oppinion
Stronghold-Yog and Crag hack
Fortress-Adrienne
Conflux-Grindan (My cousin always wins with it no matter me or 1v7 with the computer)
Adrienne is special hero. Not common for fortress. But of course is good...
Gelu for rampart because of sharpshooters.
Everyone forgetting about Neela for Tower
Dessa is better for stronghold. Logistics specialist + Logistics. Gundula is number 2. Wisdom + Offense + Slow.
Gunnar is probably the best choice in dungeon, but if you manage to get malekith who specs at sorcery with dragogedon it can be very dangerous
Gunnar is more dangerous - since he levels up faster, and has a far better chance to chose when to engage.
Conflux is kinda wrong
For me its Luna who is the strongest ( both early + late game )
I think best hero in Dungeon is Malekith with his sorcery. Dungeon has black dragons and 20% chance to get Armagedon spell.
how can you not pick Luna for conflux? I mean really?
luna or elementalist who start with earth magic. Monere got average specialisation and goot skills, but for me he is maybe at 4place in conflux
When I play Castle I prefer Orrin since he specializes in archery and marksmen. And for Rampart I always choose Clancy because he is all about Unicorns.
I always thought valeska was better then Orrin. Specialty archery and starts with all archers.
Bravo jako dobar video :):!
Omfg još jedan balkanac igra hom3

Heh, guessed all of your choices. Except mullich who is something to be considered as a cheat, i hate him
Ok so Magic ele can't use teleport like Hydras so Ice/Thunder Elementals are much better. Also idk about the obsession with Logistics, Ivor is much better Rampart hero as he specializes in Rampart's only shooters, Elves. And Dungeon Deemer too, the Meteor Shower is real good.
No wonder that in HotA Sir Mullich and Galthran are not available because they are too OP.
For dungeon my favourite is jeditte. Tactics not necesary in a fast team.
For necropolis Gunnar is good if you wanna go might, but sandro or nagash are good If you wanna go magic
Best rampart hero should be gelu and tower hero dracon
Neela is better then Solmyr, Neela like Mephala and Tazar have armorer specialty, which makes tower units very tough.
I agree but at the same time almost all of those are banned heroes that shouldn't be in the game in the first place.
FYI Mullich is banned, Logistic specialist are banned, diplomacy is banned, Galtran is banned.
Tazar is extremely good, but Andra is even better. Int ability + more Int + Wisdom.
If I'm not mistaken they banned Sir Mullich in the HOTA version and replaced him with a different hero.
My opinion:
10. Gunnar 9. Gelu 8. Tyzar 7. Sir Mullich 6. Kyrre 5. Dessa 4. Luna 3. Dracon 2. Adela
……
1. SANDRO! Thanos of the H3 world!
Sandro is my favorite homm universe character alltho in reality he has shit stats in gameplay. But definitely was my go-to character as a kid playing this.
castle - adella. i can make most creatures join to me
Yey another video :)
isra / vidomina is my go to hero when i'm playing necropolis and no one can convince me otherwise. rest of the heroes are more or less accurate.
all of the games that I've played in 20 years of Heroes 3 have finished AFTER month 10, so...
I agree... with the most part. If you know how to use Luna she's unstoppable
For Rampart I think Elshar is best,my opinion!! No hate.Btw great video agree with most other but Kyree is my second best Rampart hero
