Changing the ball joints on our MK4 golf without removing the arms or hub.

  • We changed the ball joints on the daily not long ago with some cheap ones. They didn't last long so we're putting some better quality one on, and trying to do it whilst removing as little as possible from the car.
    Here's how we did.

    You didn’t need to knock driveshaft through you can just cut off the top of the bolt on the old ball joint - save you a bit of time next time . Reciprocating hack saw

    do I have to do alignment after changing ball joint? (alignment before was done with the new joint)

      It's good practice to get it checked, if you don't just keep a good eye on your tyre wear and get it checked if you notice a problem.
