OMG!!! I just had an idea for pikmin 4!!!!!! What if olimar heads back to the planet because Louie jumped off the ship and he still needs to repay his debt, and he goes through a wormhole, sending him back in time and even maybe a throwback to the original graphics? And olimar finds the Olimin/Pikmar, and something happens with that..?

When captain Olimar returned from the planet back to Hocotate (and brought a souvenir with him) the president told him what happened when he was away and sold the S.S. dolphin then the president’s ship took Olimar’s souvenir and sold it for 100 pokos, so the president sent Olimar and Louie back to the planet to get more treasure. Eventually, the debt was paid off and Louie got left behind. So president joined in to search for Louie (and even more treasure!). As they rescued Louie and got all the treasure all the pikmin sang and glowed as their final goodbye Olimar and the president discovered that Louie was the one that ate the shipment that made the company go bankrupt. So captain Olimar went to get enough pokos to buy back the S.S. dolphin to go back to the planet with Louie to discover even MORE treasure, and they crashed it again, unable to return. One day, on the planet Koppi, the population there skyrocketed which lead to the planet starving. So they sent ships of crew members out to search for food, unfortunately, the Koppians only eat fruit and many missions failed to find food. Until a set of crew members located the planet Olimar crash landed in his first adventure (which they called pnf-404) which had fruit on it! Once they reached the atmosphere though, an accident happened that got the crew members separated. Many days later, they saved captain Olimar from the Plasim Wraith and returned home.

i like it when people assume this video was made after Pikmin was released, so they must point out all the things wrong with the Theory, because they were to lazy to read the date of release in the video. Great theory when it was considerable man.
Here after the pikmin 4 trailer, funny that we came back to this being a possibility again. I dont think it will actually be the case but it would be intresting and seeing that suspiciously Olimar-looking pikmin creature guy from the Pik4 trailer there is more evidence than there was back in the Pik3 days where the only real evidence was just Olimar's absense so who knows
I think its just implied in pikmin 1, because the planet is stated as being unknown. So, Olimar would be the first of his kind to visit (or crash in this case) onto the planet. So, I guess its a possibility that another species have been to the planet before, but the characters in Pikmin 3 seem to still be hocotations just because of their figure and small size.
I think it's because of Olimar's consciousness. If you make him sleep and the pikmin carry him to the onion, Olimar squirms out again because he is alive. The enemies that the pikmin carry are dead. So they can be fully changed into pikmin. Olimar after the crash appears to be dead or unconscious. If he is unconcious, then it would make sense that he would become a hybrid just because he still is alive..partially. Well, that's how I see it anyway.
Now that i think about it, i feel like Hey! Pikmin! Is the 2nd game in the Bad Ending from pikmin 1. But the question is, How did he know the rock/winged pikmin exsist? Maybe he saw them for a moment but didnt realise it? Who knows

Would you believe I came up with my own ideas for Pikmin 2? It involved Olimar's son, a space pirate, a Puffstool queen, a half-dead dethroned Bulblax, a giant snake, a lost research expedition, & new pikmin, including purple mushroom-heads, brown rock-heads, & black bat-winged pikmin!
Well, I thought if the President ran away from the debt collectors to the planet, he would then see the treasures when he arrives and would collect them as a last resort and when he finds out their value, it's all about collecting again!
when you find the last piece for your ship then a bigger and stronger version of the final boss from the first game, takes the piece into his cave where you fight the queen and then him. game ends after dramatic scene with olimar saying he cannot go with you since he is now a pikmin and the leader of the pikmin. THE END
Maybe the President eventually got Louie to fess up about what he did? I mean, Louie was probably ecstatic to depart to this unknown planet, at least to get away from Pres, who was growing suspicious. Louie gets fired and his dad tries getting Pres to return Louie's job, but finds that Olimar is missing. So, Dad tries to get Louie to rescue Olimar to maybe get his job back. But Louie is depressed, not fit for a rescue mission, so Dad decides to rescue Olimar himself to get Louie his job back.
Your theory has a hole, a hole so large that even the most basic of pikimin fans can see it. If pikimin 2 and 3 are on different timelines then HOW DID LOUIE GET ON PNF 404!?!?!? Olimar was the ONLY one who knew of the treasure there, hsd they not had confirmation they would NEVER used the little money they had left on fuel for the mission

If what you say is correct and pikmin 3 is a parallel universe, then I can think of a few things on the characters. A is olimars son, out to find his father.B is either olimars wife or daughter, sent to help A. C is a military proffesional hired by the family and the president. D is a relative of louie's, because they'll need an experienced space explorer, but louie was busy.

But digging deeper, what if there was no meteor, no pikmin no even planet! What if there was no Olimar? And if Olimar never came, what would happen to pikman kind? What if there were no pikmin there too help him? Would he have done it alone? But something interesting, what if there were no enemies? Would pikmin roam the earth and just be dominant? I think that last bit there about Olimin would be perfect!! Like they should make a Pikmin game about just that! Some explorers sent to rescue Olimar but find him as an Olimin, and say they lose an important part or all their parts that they need the Olimin for. The Olimin could serve as another captain but he can't whistle or something. It would be really cool and also call it "Pikmin: Olimin's Tale"
Now that Pikmin 3 is out this was kind of fun to see. Maybe they had gone in debt again and had to go back to PNF-404 after Pikmin 2 and then Pikmin 3 takes place then on the timeline and Pikmin 4 is the other alternate universe? Where the enemy are stronger and Olimar is a Pikmin ect.:)
My theory: It is pretty far in the future and olimar is getting too old to go back and see the pikmin. However he still wants people to stay in touch with the pikmin, either that or the president wants more treasure. So he hires new recruits to go to the unknown planet and to go back to see olimar's old friends, the Pikmin.
It already is a what-if game. It wouldn't work if Olimar became Pikamar. This idea doesn't change that, it's just the other side of the story possibilities.
maybe the 4 new captains have no relations to olimar, louie, and president. But they go to the pikmin planet for a totally different reason. Then while there, they meet Olimar near the end of the game and they fight about who the "leader" of the pikmin planet is. That could be the final boss. maybe you could build on that. It's a long shot of a theory, but it could happen.
olimar can be like the smartest pikmin, he would be able to act like a human like his normal self (with amniesa) and be able to do anything a captaincan do with pikmin power.
Personally I always believed that Olimar just returned to the planet to research the wildlife of the different areas (he is shown to be a biologist in the Piklipedia after all) but then was captured like Louie was in Pikmin 2
You have a point, but you've slightly misunderstood what I plan to do. I will be playing the game when it's released obviously, but I won't be uploading it and calling it a let's play, as it wouldn't be very good if I have no clue what I'm doing :/ So I plan to play through the game normally (at a normal pace) And when I'm experienced enough with the game, I will let's play it. I will be part of the people after the influx. Though I haven't done let's plays before, we have to start somewhere...
If you see the secret tapes of pikmin 3 it says that it is olimars third time on the planet and that's when this theory is pulled apart. Also why is olimars ship red instead of gold in pikmin 3? I believe that pikmin 3 is a failed attempt on pikmin two, in the beginning they crash so what if something much more fatal happens in another universe and olimars and Louie must go back to hocotate and then after repairs they go back and crash again. Due to land formations the caves with all the treasures are burried and not accessible anymore. This makes finding treasure a lot harder and can explain why in the secret logs olimar says it is very difficult to find treasure, this also explains why he says he still has debt and has been to this planet 3 times and ALSO explains why in the secret tapes there are no white or purple pikmin. All the other events that occur to the koppai captains stay the same and I would assume that the koppai captains give olimar things that are foreign to olimar to help him with his debt issue. This could also explain why Louie stays when the Koppai captains and Olimar leave, I mean why would Louie still have his job and why would he stay twice, especially in the final area where the plasm wraith is, Olimar even says that Louie had a sixth sense and that Louie didn't want to go to the top of the tree in the final area because he had a feeling it was going to be bad news. Who knows why Louie stayed behind, maybe it's just Nintendo referencing pikmin 2 or making a joke about it, who knows. Hopefully Nintendo can clear up these inconsistencies in the pikmin plot line and order and when Pikmin 3 occurs. Sorry to break your theory down but it was very well thought out and made a lot of sense until the secret tapes came along :)
i agree to you dazz because it says in the wiki that loui and olimar will not be playable for on unknown reason. Basically like bleedingdaze01 the titan dweevil took a liking to loui and captured him.
Or it is after Pikmin 2 and they went back for more treasures for the heck of it... Alpha, a member of the pikmin 3 crew from Kopai states "Hocotate, isn't that the planet of treasure lovers?" So that means Olimar & Louie went back after some time because the animals did adapt and mature into new species
I like the idea that when Alph and the captain and the other guys find olimar they have to pluck him and then restore him and when he is restored he is basicly just another captain.

I beleive that the pikmin grew smarter and they learned to pluck. So then they plucked olimar out of the ground. But then he went back to hocate and the president sold the s.s dolhpin and then sent louie with him and then they crashed. BUT little did they know the koppia captains already had luanched and then affter a while louie and olimar luanched back into space and there engine quick working and they crashed on a 2nd pikmin planet. The ship had broken. And olimar and louie where lost. And after a while the koppia captians found louie and brung him to there ship. And when they left for a new day louie woke up looked around and stole EVERYTHING. Then he selfishly left and who knows? Mean while olimar was yet to be found. Then after many loooooong days the koppia captains found olimars secret messasages then along ????? Days they found olimar and the game basicly ended. Intil pikmin 4,5,6, and 7 we have yet to know what will happen.
And rescuing Olimar because he wanted to get the SS Dolphin back. Getting treasure, then kidnapped after getting attracted to valuable looking monster.
It could also be that sense Olimars and Louie Ship is destroyed. That they still are stranded with no food. The S.S. Drake has food feeds Olimar and Louie on the way back to Koppai drop off the food there. Take them back to Hocotate but the dept still has to be paid. So Olimar would have to sell some of his things to buy back the S.S. Dolphin. So the others from Koppai would have probably gave him a device to communicate with them for the S.S. Drake they take that and get Treasure for the Dept.
well i think that it has to be in 2 timelines because in pikmin 3 theres a jurnal entry that said that olimar had a dream of becoming a pikmin so theres 2 timelines where olimar was a pikmin. and one where hes not
Ok, one thing that bugs me to no end: Olimin himself. Whenever the pikmin collect pellets, corpses, or any other consumable, they just get turned into new pikmin. Not bulbmin, not wogmin or grubmin, etc. But when Olimar gets absorbed by the Onion, he's spat back out resembling his hocotatian form, with his skin, eyes, and nose intact. Why is this? Does the Onion intentionally leave him as unchanged as possible? Are hocotatians somehow related biologically to pikmin?
Actually, the timeline is in order of 1, 2, then 3. There is no other timeline. Olimar went back to the planet in the 3 game to gather more treasure so as to recover his dolphin (his ship in the first game) and then becomes stranded on planet Pikmin. Louie is stranded with him. So number 2 did happen.
At least 1 thing you said made sense. Pikmin weren't the origanal creatures as seen olimar became olimin witch means some creatures are able to change form in to pikmin like creatures witch explains purple and white pikmin. Purple pikmin used to be creatures with hair, white pikmin I think used to be flys because there small and there eyes, rock pikmin used to be probably special rocks, yellow could of been elf like creatures because of there ears, I don't know about red but blue where some type of frog
Maybe you will find something like halfway throughout the game and you can't get into it but you somehow know that it is important and you go alot further then find Olimar 3 quarters through the game and you have to go back to the special point and that's where the final boss is or something like that.

DUDE, you have to make another version of this theory because the plot of pikmin 3 is TOTALLY different of what ur saying. Pikmin 3 is about 3 captains from the planet koppai going to the planet to get more food because their planet is starving SOOOOO... When they get to the planet olimar makes notes that helps the travelers on their journey through the world (the captains got separated) so if olimar never sent the notes, the captains would never know how to use the pikmin 0-0 *mind blown*

maybe Pickman olimar is like a bulbmin you can keep and pellet posys will evolve to olimar faces but like 3 in the whole game

But what if, Dazz, Olimar never went to the pikmin plant, ( Know as PNF-404 in pikmin 3. ) Louie would probably never be hired, pikmin probably would be extinct, and well, there wouldn't be a chance for him to be turned into an Olimin. But digging deeper, what if there was no meteor, no pikmin no even planet! What if there was no Olimar? And if Olimar never came, what would happen to pikman kind? What if there were no pikmin there too help him? Would he have done it alone? But something interesting, what if there were no enemies? Would pikmin roam the earth and just be dominant? Sorry if my question is really long, I came up with it as I was going along!
I think that last bit there about Olimin would be perfect!! Like they should make a Pikmin game about just that! Some explorers sent to rescue Olimar but find him as an Olimin, and say they lose an important part or all their parts that they need the Olimin for. The Olimin could serve as another captain but he can't whistle or something. It would be really cool and also call it "Pikmin: Olimin's Tale"
Now that Pikmin 3 is out this was kind of fun to see. Maybe they had gone in debt again and had to go back to PNF-404 after Pikmin 2 and then Pikmin 3 takes place then on the timeline and Pikmin 4 is the other alternate universe? Where the enemy are stronger and Olimar is a Pikmin ect.:)

My theory: It is pretty far in the future and olimar is getting too old to go back and see the pikmin. However he still wants people to stay in touch with the pikmin, either that or the president wants more treasure. So he hires new recruits to go to the unknown planet and to go back to see olimar's old friends, the Pikmin.
It already is a what-if game. It wouldn't work if Olimar became Pikamar. This idea doesn't change that, it's just the other side of the story possibilities.
maybe the 4 new captains have no relations to olimar, louie, and president. But they go to the pikmin planet for a totally different reason. Then while there, they meet Olimar near the end of the game and they fight about who the "leader" of the pikmin planet is. That could be the final boss. maybe you could build on that. It's a long shot of a theory, but it could happen.
olimar can be like the smartest pikmin, he would be able to act like a human like his normal self (with amniesa) and be able to do anything a captaincan do with pikmin power.
Personally I always believed that Olimar just returned to the planet to research the wildlife of the different areas (he is shown to be a biologist in the Piklipedia after all) but then was captured like Louie was in Pikmin 2

I will be playing the game when it's released obviously, but I won't be uploading it and calling it a let's play, as it wouldn't be very good if I have no clue what I'm doing :/
So I plan to play through the game normally (at a normal pace)
And when I'm experienced enough with the game, I will let's play it.
I will be part of the people after the influx. Though I haven't done let's plays before, we have to start somewhere...

The end was just amazing.
If you see the secret tapes of pikmin 3 it says that it is olimars third time on the planet and that's when this theory is pulled apart. Also why is olimars ship red instead of gold in pikmin 3? I believe that pikmin 3 is a failed attempt on pikmin two, in the beginning they crash so what if something much more fatal happens in another universe and olimars and Louie must go back to hocotate and then after repairs they go back and crash again. Due to land formations the caves with all the treasures are burried and not accessible anymore. This makes finding treasure a lot harder and can explain why in the secret logs olimar says it is very difficult to find treasure, this also explains why he says he still has debt and has been to this planet 3 times and ALSO explains why in the secret tapes there are no white or purple pikmin. All the other events that occur to the koppai captains stay the same and I would assume that the koppai captains give olimar things that are foreign to olimar to help him with his debt issue. This could also explain why Louie stays when the Koppai captains and Olimar leave, I mean why would Louie still have his job and why would he stay twice, especially in the final area where the plasm wraith is, Olimar even says that Louie had a sixth sense and that Louie didn't want to go to the top of the tree in the final area because he had a feeling it was going to be bad news. Who knows why Louie stayed behind, maybe it's just Nintendo referencing pikmin 2 or making a joke about it, who knows. Hopefully Nintendo can clear up these inconsistencies in the pikmin plot line and order and when Pikmin 3 occurs. Sorry to break your theory down but it was very well thought out and made a lot of sense until the secret tapes came along :)
i agree to you dazz because it says in the wiki that loui and olimar will not be playable for on unknown reason. Basically like bleedingdaze01 the titan dweevil took a liking to loui and captured him.
Or it is after Pikmin 2 and they went back for more treasures for the heck of it... Alpha, a member of the pikmin 3 crew from Kopai states "Hocotate, isn't that the planet of treasure lovers?" So that means Olimar & Louie went back after some time because the animals did adapt and mature into new species
Olimar could be the ultra-pikmin, able to carry other pikmin and release them when thrown or throw them himself.

I like the idea that when Alph and the captain and the other guys find olimar they have to pluck him and then restore him and when he is restored he is basicly just another captain.

Guys, this was made in january! Don't judge him just because of a theory made before the story was RELEASED
I beleive that the pikmin grew smarter and they learned to pluck. So then they plucked olimar out of the ground. But then he went back to hocate and the president sold the s.s dolhpin and then sent louie with him and then they crashed. BUT little did they know the koppia captains already had luanched and then affter a while louie and olimar luanched back into space and there engine quick working and they crashed on a 2nd pikmin planet. The ship had broken. And olimar and louie where lost. And after a while the koppia captians found louie and brung him to there ship. And when they left for a new day louie woke up looked around and stole EVERYTHING. Then he selfishly left and who knows? Mean while olimar was yet to be found. Then after many loooooong days the koppia captains found olimars secret messasages then along ????? Days they found olimar and the game basicly ended. Intil pikmin 4,5,6, and 7 we have yet to know what will happen.
Maybe the Olimin is the species that Pikmin accept as their superior. So he could still command them.
And rescuing Olimar because he wanted to get the SS Dolphin back. Getting treasure, then kidnapped after getting attracted to valuable looking monster.

It could also be that sense Olimars and Louie Ship is destroyed. That they still are stranded with no food. The S.S. Drake has food feeds Olimar and Louie on the way back to Koppai drop off the food there. Take them back to Hocotate but the dept still has to be paid. So Olimar would have to sell some of his things to buy back the S.S. Dolphin. So the others from Koppai would have probably gave him a device to communicate with them for the S.S. Drake they take that and get Treasure for the Dept.
well i think that it has to be in 2 timelines because in pikmin 3 theres a jurnal entry that said that olimar had a dream of becoming a pikmin so theres 2 timelines where olimar was a pikmin. and one where hes not

Ok, one thing that bugs me to no end: Olimin himself. Whenever the pikmin collect pellets, corpses, or any other consumable, they just get turned into new pikmin. Not bulbmin, not wogmin or grubmin, etc. But when Olimar gets absorbed by the Onion, he's spat back out resembling his hocotatian form, with his skin, eyes, and nose intact. Why is this? Does the Onion intentionally leave him as unchanged as possible? Are hocotatians somehow related biologically to pikmin?
Actually, the timeline is in order of 1, 2, then 3. There is no other timeline. Olimar went back to the planet in the 3 game to gather more treasure so as to recover his dolphin (his ship in the first game) and then becomes stranded on planet Pikmin. Louie is stranded with him. So number 2 did happen.

At least 1 thing you said made sense. Pikmin weren't the origanal creatures as seen olimar became olimin witch means some creatures are able to change form in to pikmin like creatures witch explains purple and white pikmin. Purple pikmin used to be creatures with hair, white pikmin I think used to be flys because there small and there eyes, rock pikmin used to be probably special rocks, yellow could of been elf like creatures because of there ears, I don't know about red but blue where some type of frog

i wonder if you might make a theory about what happened to the humans before the pikmin games
Maybe you will find something like halfway throughout the game and you can't get into it but you somehow know that it is important and you go alot further then find Olimar 3 quarters through the game and you have to go back to the special point and that's where the final boss is or something like that.
I have another theory for if Olimars Family don't accept he is a Pikmin and they kill themselves so the Pikmin takes them back now they Pikmin the Pikmin 3 comes and alph plucks them.
THIS MAKES SENCE! If pikmin 2 never happend and instead pikmin 3 was next, they would have never found purple and white pikmin whitch explains why theres no purple and white pikmin in the story mode of pikmin 3, also that would explain the lack of dungeons in pikmin 3, why? Well they would have found out about purples and whites! Duhh! And the something wraith plucked olimar out and kidnaped him, and he lost all of his notes on the way to the tree thing. We don't know why louie was on the planet in pikmin 3 though...

DUDE, you have to make another version of this theory because the plot of pikmin 3 is TOTALLY different of what ur saying. Pikmin 3 is about 3 captains from the planet koppai going to the planet to get more food because their planet is starving SOOOOO... When they get to the planet olimar makes notes that helps the travelers on their journey through the world (the captains got separated) so if olimar never sent the notes, the captains would never know how to use the pikmin 0-0 *mind blown*
