Thank you for this video!!! I was so frustrated I was going to have to tear apart the case again to figure out what was going on.... instead of that, this fixed it.... Now my new clutch works perfectly!
This is what I want to know because I don't know the reason why the clutch is very light. I've searched the entire internet but couldn't find the cause. Thank you for your video; it was very helpful
I have a 2022 honda grom with the same issue. I changed the clutch springs and me lever had no tension. It’s the same concept as the four wheeler. Thank you so much for this video
You nailed it. I was following steps in a rocky mountain atv video and they never once mentioned this as a common occurance. It was like install clutches and roll which didn't apply in mine. Thanks again. Going to do this right now on my raptor 350 although i dont see the mark on my arm to line up with the case. Im sure ill get it. 👍
Brother! You're a f'in legend and hero. This is about the 20th youtube video I've watched indepth to finally fix this problem I had after a full engine rebuild on my 2001 yz 125 dirt bike. Thank-you for making this. I had about given up. Life-saver. Clutch lever is super tight now and won't put the bike in neutral from gear while it's off, but I'm hoping this problem will go away once the bike is running and warmed up. Cheers!
thanks for explaining the clutch shaft has no internal resistance only that spring- I never knew one way or the other and this is the only video I found where you explain for the dummies whats supposed to be there!
Fantastic, thanks for posting this, I have a clutch that works fine, but I kept looking at the little arm and always thought it looked incorrect. So now I've adjusted the position of the arm and the clutch feels better. But as you mentioned, there is nothing in the manual
Just wanted to say thank you so very much for this video, saved lots of headache. I did the same thing you described, searched and found your video. Thank you.
i have the cable adjusted correctly based on your video and there's plenty of pressure when you pull on the lever thanks to the heavy duty springs but the quad will roll fairly easy while in gear. Doesnt lock out like it is suppose to
You are great I am having the same issue with my motorcycle I was just thinking to open the RH cover of my motorcycle to inspect the issue but now I think this trick would definitely help me out. 👍👍👏
Thank you soo much! This solve my problem completely. I was about to buy a longer clutch cable because it was fully extended and the adjustment and I could not figure out why. I made this adjustment and that’s all it took and now I have plenty of adjustment at the lever and at the clutch
It's funny they don't tell you to re-clock the arm in the manual. I figured it out on my own, but it wasn't till after setting it up wrong and scratching my head for a while and throwing around a few choice words! LOL... It's good to see, however that I'm not the only rookie clutch swapper. My problem now though is that my clutch lever is MEGA hard to pull. I just lubed the cable and as I figured it didn't help at all. I'm going to rip the whole thing apart tomorrow and see if the clutch boss is grooved. A couple weeks ago I found a grooved clutch boss on my YFZ, and "THEY" say a grooved clutch boss can really stiffen your lever pull to the point of ridiculousness. . So I'm awaiting clutch parts for the YFZ and its looking more and more like Im going to have to rip back into my raptor to see if the Raptor clutch boss is suddenly all grooved too. Seems like Feb/march are clutch months for me!!!!
The First time I did my clutch on my 2017 last year I was so frustrated until I realized this was the issue. I’m glad I’m not the only one that dealt with this issue... I went as far as ordering a new clutch cable only to install the new cable and still the same issue :) man I felt dumb when I finally realized what was going on ... Pretty basic but if you don’t know it can be frustrating.. Thanks for the video.
I’m not sure if anyone can help but I just bought a 2019 raptor and it has a rekluse clutch on it and it’s slipping. There’s no play with the lever and the notches aren’t lined up. Would doing the steps in this video and getting those notches lined up solve my problem?
My friend, I find it difficult to move my bike at the beginning of the first Gear, as it turns off every time, I have to press the gas pedal strongly so that I can start without closing the engine.
Hey brother quick question i have a 2019 and the lines are not aligned but they align when i put the clutch all the way in… but i have not changed my clutch, my quad just stop grabbing the gears. Is this what i have to do or do I need a new clutch??? Thank you!!!
I Have an 07 raptor 350 that's I just picked up. Seems to ride really good but it's hard to find neutral or put it back in drive after going into reverse. So I decided to adjust the clutch then I find there's no free play in the clutch lever or clutch arm. Put some free play Into the clutch lever and seems to be finding neutral alot easier and getting out of reverse properly but now it goes I to 1st gear kinda hard. But I don't see a way to adjust the clutch arm on the 350. And its bugging me because i feel like there should be a little slack on the arm. The cable slides into a mount on the engine but there's no adjustment bolts there. And the clutch arm is super tight. Doesn't even wiggle a little bit by hand. Could my clutch arm be rotated too far clockwise? I think if it wasn't disengaged properly the clutch would be slipping but idk what that feels like because this is my first standard atv
Thanks for the video . Quick question I have a brand new 700r not even 6 hours of ride time. It will go into reverse but doesn’t accelerate forward when in gear. Could it be the clutches ?
Hi there I have a raptor 700r gytr edition model 2006 and experience issues with a worn out clutch .the two lines on the arm and the case does not line up from worn off clutch .can I remove the arm and reset the two lines for it to be right as I am running out of free play ....thanks much appreciated
Having this issue on a 98ktm sx 2stroke. Instead the clutch goes inside the case. Havent found a service manual that explains the entire mechanism. 😅 help lol
Great video. Do you have any recommendations for a reliable top end kit for a 2011 model. I want to go 11,1 compression with a good fuel controller like a pc or dynatech and a stage 3 hotcam, possibly a big bore kit if there is some sort of combo deal out there. Any advice is appreciated thanks.
Ok thanks. Are you still selling the temp Gauge, case saver and there was something else that came with it on Ebay I can't find it was it the ais plate
Hey my 2018 raptor feels like it’s lost power it runs perfect but when I’m in gears in the end of each gear it revs high but the power isn’t there any ideas? It feels a lot less torqy. I rode my friends 2017 and it feels a lot stronger and dosent rev out as fast
Sometimes I have a hard time getting my raptor into neutral or 1st gear, have to rock it sometimes. Is there a cable adjustment that will fix this or is this how yamaha gear boxes are normally?
I just bought my 08 raptor 700, Im actually having the opposite problem. My lever down on the clutch is so hard to turn that i have to use a big wrench just to move it. It wears my arm out after just a short amount of riding.
ever find out why? having same issue in a yz450f 2007 any answers? just dif clutch platez and springs and lever now feels at least 25% harder to pull than its usual feeling
I did it and my clutch is so hard. I can pull lever only like half way. Did I messed something up ? Did I torqed the springs too much ? I belive i did 69 inch lbs
When I did mine the clutch pin turns then stops. I turned it so hard I broke one of the tooth’s on the clutch pin. I put all the plates on in order. I’m not sure why it’s not working. Any advice?
Finally someone showed that I couldn't figure out what to do because I ran out of adjustment
Thank you for this video!!! I was so frustrated I was going to have to tear apart the case again to figure out what was going on.... instead of that, this fixed it.... Now my new clutch works perfectly!

Thank you so much!!! I was about ready to pull the cover back off to see what I did wrong. You saved me a lot of wasted time and with this video!!!
what logan said! i was about to split the cases, hope this works on my blaster.
thanks for explaining the clutch shaft has no internal resistance only that spring- I never knew one way or the other and this is the only video I found where you explain for the dummies whats supposed to be there!
Literally was just doing this thought I would look up a video on it found this, thank you saved me a bunch of frustration
You saved me from possibly re-doing the job again. Thank you
Must be nice I decided to start all over before looking it up 😂
Fantastic, thanks for posting this, I have a clutch that works fine, but I kept looking at the little arm and always thought it looked incorrect. So now I've adjusted the position of the arm and the clutch feels better. But as you mentioned, there is nothing in the manual
Thank you I needed to see this. I have been stressing about this but you made it look very easy & straight forward. So thank you!
Same
Just wanted to say thank you so very much for this video, saved lots of headache. I did the same thing you described, searched and found your video. Thank you.
Had the same issue with an mt10 this worked perfectly many thanks brother !!!
Had this problem yesterday after changing my clutch plates , gonna give this a try hopefully it work
Its worked ?

This video saved me $$ my sock got stuck on that clip it unhooked and I pulled the clutch arm out of place mid wheelie
Was just tryna figure out what was going on with my raptor 660. Just tried this it’s working now! Thanks
You are great I am having the same issue with my motorcycle I was just thinking to open the RH cover of my motorcycle to inspect the issue but now I think this trick would definitely help me out. 👍👍👏
Needed this video I never knew you can readjust the arm I thought I was gonna have to take the oil and clutch cover off to readjust it
This video came in clutch! No pun intended haha. Couldn't figure this out for the life of me.
Thanks bro finally somebody explains the springs
Thank you soo much! This solve my problem completely. I was about to buy a longer clutch cable because it was fully extended and the adjustment and I could not figure out why. I made this adjustment and that’s all it took and now I have plenty of adjustment at the lever and at the clutch

Worked a treat with my new cable now my clutch is really tight to pull 😂
I believe that the Yamaha szr660 and Raptor has the same engine and all, so this is going to help me with the old bike of mine. 🔥
The First time I did my clutch on my 2017 last year I was so frustrated until I realized this was the issue. I’m glad I’m not the only one that dealt with this issue... Thank you, very well explained! Just earned yourself a subscriber.
Dude thank you for this I needed this explanation
Lol. Spent 3 hours learning this the hard way. Took the cover back off like 3 times.
Thanks for the video quick question where can I find the spring only that pulls back the clutch?
My bike won’t go out of neutral you think this may help ?
AHHH! I hope this is gonna fix my problem. Thanks!
Is this the apply to a DD lockup as well?? If not you shld do a video on it..
Extremely Informative!

Did it fix it
I’m missing that washer and snap ring that sits above the spring and the clutch part , where can I order them from ?
Partzilla
This really helped me. Thanks
Very helpful, thank you!
The best video🎉
Good information to have I'm about to do a clutch on the wife's Raptor
Great video👍
Why my arm not moving back easy like you are in video with your finger ? Thanks
My friend, I find it difficult to move my bike at the beginning of the first Gear, as it turns off every time, I have to press the gas pedal strongly so that I can start without closing the engine.

great video. very well explained

rhank you sir for this video!!
Thanks for the video . Quick question I have a brand new 700r not even 6 hours of ride time. It will go into reverse but doesn’t accelerate forward when in gear. Could it be the clutches ?
Clutch will be affected in reverse as well. So likely something else
Is the asv perch clutch make problems in a 700 thit you recomended
Would this trick work for my 2012 Yamaha r6 has the same issue
Great video. Thanks for the info
Thanks for uploading.....😀
That washer and black Clip what is it called on the clutch arm
Nice video, thanks.
My raptor 700 takes off when i shoft into first gear. Its like the clutch isnt engaging or something. Any guesses?
Hi there I have a raptor 700r gytr edition model 2006 and experience issues with a worn out clutch .the two lines on the arm and the case does not line up from worn off clutch .can I remove the arm and reset the two lines for it to be right as I am running out of free play ....thanks much appreciated
What if your bike dosent have the spring a return spring on top. My bike only has a spring on the inside of the bottom of the clutch arm? Cbr300r
Having this issue on a 98ktm sx 2stroke. Instead the clutch goes inside the case. Havent found a service manual that explains the entire mechanism. 😅 help lol
If you twist counter clockwise will you be able to unscrew that rod and pull it out?
No on the clutch cover that rod has another snap ring at the bottom on the inside
Thanks I need to know that 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾🤟🏾
Great video.
Yes we have parts in stock . Give us a call tomorrow 951-743-6328
This works for raptor 660 just so y’all know !
i’m assuming 01-05 it will work . it worked on my 04.
My problem is the exact opposite my lever is way have can't pull it...when I try to move the lever on the wind spring it's solid as well???
Same here. Any suggestions from Adm?
Would this apply on a kfx450r also?
thank you you are the best
Is this the same case for a yfz450?
So when you pull the clutch all the way the lines should line up?
No. Just when removing the slack/freeplay
I'm getting a 2019 raptor 700r and was wondering if I should do the AIS block off plate or is that only if you do mods?
i recommend to do it either way. helps drivability
Ok thanks. Are you still selling the temp Gauge, case saver and there was something else that came with it on Ebay I can't find it was it the ais plate
Is that the same with 02 660
Hey my 2018 raptor feels like it’s lost power it runs perfect but when I’m in gears in the end of each gear it revs high but the power isn’t there any ideas? It feels a lot less torqy. I rode my friends 2017 and it feels a lot stronger and dosent rev out as fast
Check to see if the gearing is the same. . Check or change
Spark plug
If you haven’t already Change you clutch plates they are worn had same problem with my yfz450
I can relate to this i have the same problem
I have a 2020 raptor and it hesitates going in to third gear do I need new clutches or a cable adjustment
Your main axle shaft might be damaged my had the same issue and ot was the main axel shaft
What if u feel the clutch engaging but still not working . Bike takes off
When you change the clutch is it necessary to change the oil? Will you lose oil when opening the case?
Yes you will lose oil. I recommend changing at the same time. U can tilt the bike to prevent oil loss.
Sometimes I have a hard time getting my raptor into neutral or 1st gear, have to rock it sometimes. Is there a cable adjustment that will fix this or is this how yamaha gear boxes are normally?
Depending on age the clutch basket may be worn.
@@MrCuervoRacing 2016 with only 20 hours
Improper chain tension can affect this too
I just bought my 08 raptor 700, Im actually having the opposite problem.
When I do make this the arm its like impossble to move ( after the free play ) help me please
Yes it will be . Attach cable and use lever on bar.
Could this be my problem with my blaster
I LOVE YOU THANK YOU
Thank you!
I did it and my clutch is so hard. I can pull lever only like half way. Did I messed something up ? Did I torqed the springs too much ? I belive i did 69 inch lbs
Sounds like you may have too many plates in the clutch and the springs are going into coil bind.
MrCuervoRacing thanks I didnt count them just put in all came in a kit 🤔Ill have to take it out again 😒
When I did mine the clutch pin turns then stops. I turned it so hard I broke one of the tooth’s on the clutch pin. I put all the plates on in order. I’m not sure why it’s not working. Any advice?
Did you ever find out what was wrong im having the same problem
The guider that hooks to the rod is not straight and is not hooking on to it , you have to make sure that guider is straight and does not move
Man I don’t have the line to line it up I have a Yamaha fuzzy 450
I don’t have that index mark
Thank you brooo
Sir, you just saved me a nervous/angry breakdown. Message me your paypal information I would like to buy you a beer! 🍺
Muio bom... me ajudou, obrigado
Didn’t work at all?

Good video, Thank you
