Thanks for making the video. It is one of the best things about utube, having Videos to do things. We never had videos when we were kids. We just had to figure it out and mess things up a few times to get it right.
My belt was squealing loud enough to wake the dead. Pulled the pulley off, lubricated the shift. Gave it a test run. No more squeal. Thanks for getting me into the back of the machine.
You gotta pull the front cover forward a bit to make space between the cover and the basket slide it out through the front then slide the new one in the same way, hope that helps.
I didn't know that if you spin the drum backwards from inside it can allow the belt to fall off the motor shaft, bc that's what happened when I was looking for a certain sock and I went backwards and didn't know it detached from the pully, and here I thought it was a broken belt, so I have it back on and now I have a vacuum on this, man what alot of thick linen everywhere!
@@bradvanpay7499 maybe for some reason the belt spun crooked as you spinned it backwards and that caused it to slip out the shaft, but i'm glad you resolved it good thing you found all that lint also now your dryer will dry better 👍 take care and Thank You for watching my video.
Hey Gus, I did everything in the video correct but a blocker piece I can’t find the home for seems to be making it sound funny when I turned on the dryer when i put it all back together. When I ran it without the top on it sounded fine . Any help appreciated
Mine broke too but the question is what actually caused it to break? On mine it felt like more drag than what it should be for such a small 1/4” belt. I noticed the front center slides were worn out and some slip in the rear bearing sleeve. My guess would be too much drag. Now I’m trying to figure out if anything is suppose to be lubed or not.
If yours broke was it there for a long time (years) ? Check the pullie from the motor that it runs smooth and straight when you put the new belt on and make sure the belt is straight. When you put it all together spin the basket by hand a few times to make sure it spins smooth.
@@guscruz5076 yeah mine was about 20 years old. I found out the little slides the drum rides on where also wore out so i replaced them too. Most likely due to the rear bearing being worn which I also replaced. It’s still running fine now. I used superlube ptfe grease on my plastic pulley bearing.
From what I have heard and seen in your video I think I got it . Thank you
Just want to say thank you for guiding me to replace my band. You saved me some money and made me look like a hero to my wife 🙌🏽

I just put a little lube white lithium grease on the center hole of the plastic wheel so that it can turn smoother.
