This is the worst appliance in design. Belt replacement is so hectic, and proves that whirlpool did fkup on this one. Thanks for this great video. It really helps.

It is much easier to remove the blower housing instead of the motor for removal of the belt.

I'm in South Florida, My unit is the LT7000, I followed this video and I changed my belt with success, I paid $20.00 for my Belt in Miramar, the guy said he will charge me $120.00 to change the belt, I told him if I have any issues I will let him know. I am only now reading everyone's comments about the Blower Fan, I am lucky that didn't happen with me. My unit is very similar to the one in the video except that my Door has a glass and some of the wire connections are a little different, other than that this is perfect. I should have read the comments before I removed the Blower fan, I would have taken Brian or Oscar's opinion to save a little time. All in all, it worked out fine.

this guide is awesome... but DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE BLOWER WHEEL... it is to brittle... it will brake... instead just remove de to clips from the motor... disconect the wires, lift the motor a little bit and pass through the belt, that it.

Yeah that step stopped me the first time I tried this repair myself. I called the repairman and you know how he got it off? He broke it off intentionally

I flew through each step quickly but I was stopped cold at the part where I loop the belt around the motor drive shaft and idler pulley wheel in a "zig zag" pattern? The fact that the repairman's hands are obscured in the video isn't helping. Does the belt not simply go in a big loop around the drum, motor drive shaft, and idler pulley wheel, ribbed side on the inside?

NOTE TO ALL - do not attempt to remove the blower fan. Very high chance of it cracking (mine did). Just release the motor and slip the belt behind and underneath the motor.

Second this. Just remove the retaining clips and wiring to the motor and lift up.

But if the belt is broke you shouldn't have to do this

One of the most stupidest designs for such an easy repair.

Poor Engineering at its finest just to remove a belt. Make it harder to repair so you just buy a New One of course.

Shame on whirlpool for making such a STUPID design. Really take off the blower (which is probably seized to the motor shaft) just to change a belt? I hate whirlpool SOOOO MUCH!

Imagine removing your vehicle motor to replace a belt. Epic Engineering failure. I dont care if they engineered against their customers for profit or not. Whirlpool Engineer design failures team
