Good video. I just did this to my model WSM2420 today . No instructions came with my new suspension springs so it was quite the adventure of trial and error with tools and methods. This video sums up everything I did to get the work done, except it took me a few hours. I wish I found this video first, it’s a good reference. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this post it really helped me resolve my issue with the three shocks. One had pulled loose from the base frame and stripped out. I was able to get the bottom of it out of the hole and work work on it from the bottom. Used a die to rethread the half inch threads on the shock, get it back in the base frame and get a half inch nut on it from the underside with loctite. Thanks again!
Very Helpful. I had the exact washer and two of the springs were completely gone. The tub frame was in pretty bad shape with one of the mounts completely ripping out. It was a bear to break those nuts loose. I found some large washers to put on top of the new spring top bolts to help support the weight of the tub since the original holes were wallowed out. I also added a washer on top, beneath the nut. My only problem was I forget to add loctite to the top nuts. Realized it after everything was back together. Washer runs smooth and quiet now.
When loaded, I hear vibration from the side where the mount ripped out. When running, if I move tub away from that side the vibration goes away. Working fine otherwise, but should have added some rubber washers to try and isolate metal to metal contact. ***Update: Added rubber washers between metal washers, frame and nuts. Washer is quiet now and no more vibration.
Informative video. I just had one of these yesterday. And yes the base with the tub must come out lol. You won't be able to lift the tub off of the shocks/struts otherwise.
I'm handy. I've fixed my own appliances mostly. How long should this take an average person? Including the clutch thing. I've a friend that has asked me about doing this on her set. I already fixed her dryer door switch.
do i really have to disassemble the entire base? cant i just remove the drum and motor and leave the base in? i have a job like this to do tomorrow. not looking forward to it lol
You are a lifesaver. Thank you.
Straight forward. Thank you!

I would’ve love for you to show us how you put the tub back onto the shocks after you install the shocks to the base.
