I am a 47 year old women, with no mechanical ability at all. As a single mother I couldn't afford to have someone come out to fix the dryer. I thought what the heck. It took me an hour. The hardest part was getting the screw for the front cover off. I was able to put the new belt on from the front and didn't have to take off the drum. Thanks so much for the video. It cost me 4.99 for the belt. Feeling very accomplished. :)

Thank you so very much for this video. I am a 60 yr. old woman and I'm grateful your video time was short and sweet. It was very easy to repair. I did not release the drum because I was able to slip the new belt around the drum, (my old belt snapped). I went through the back panel and the pulley was in front of my eyes, I was so happy. Thank you again for your instructions. I am a Happy Nonna!
The dryer drum stopped turning. Told the wife we'd be shopping for a new dryer. She told me to go to You Tube. This is the first video I came across. Within an hour I was drying clothes. That includes the 45 minutes it took to locate and buy a new belt.Thankyou! Very helpful!
Thank you so much, I am a 41 year old woman and have never done anything like this, but I DID IT!!! $17 for a belt was much better than service call, parts and labor!!! You truly make a difference!!!
YOU JUST SAVED US $200+!!!!!! While our dryer has the control panel on the base and not the panel in the back like yours, everything else was identical!! Once we wrestled those top spring clips, everything else went smoothly and was exactly as your video! Whole process took about 30 mins. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!
My exact make and model. Appreciate the great instruction cost me $20 a sliced knuckle and a few choice expressions of colorful epithets Bonus while I had it apart I deep cleaned all the lint including in the control panel, and all of the contacts inside. My buzzer hadn’t been working lately and the timed cycle was intermittently failing as well. It worked my old dryer is full functioning again
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am a 50 yr old woman and I fixed my Mom's dryer and saved her $150 for a service call, labor and parts. I'm now TRULY her handiest child in our family thanks to your videos. Keep up the great job and thanks again for the great info to fix these machines.
Great video. It's videos like these that have just the information the viewer needs, in easy to understand verbal and visual descriptions. I can't get over how many videos on RUclips I looked at before I found this one. It's like having the teacher you always wanted in school. Saved me a load of time and effort.
I would like to say thanks. I ordered the belt and rear bearing replacement(standard shipping)and was shipped very quick. Re-watched the 2 videos and went to work. Took about and hour and a half but that included a full cleaning with a vacuum cleaner and damp rag. About $30 in new parts and my labor. I expect that I saved about $220 or more in labor. I would not have had the courage to tackle this without your videos. Thanks again, David--
As many below have said...THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! It was a "honey-do" to fix the squeak in our dryer...Fridgidaire model just like you have in this video. Took the tub out about 6 inches, cleaned and then lightly lubed the ball and the little bearing in the back...put it all together and, for now, no more squeaks!
Thank you so much for this wonderful feedback! It's very appreciated. The feeling of accomplishment upon completing something like that can be extremely empowering. Great job on the repair! :)
Thanks Steve at Parts Select !!! It was also a great opportunity to clean and vacuum out 18 years worth of lint from the front of the unit as well. Runs like a charm !!!!
instead of reaching under theres a back panel with two screws and once you remove it you can see where there pulley is and you can also put the belt back on the pulley from the back panel. I found it a lot easier than reaching under the drum from the front
Thanks man I just got a costumer who wants it repaired 😂 He even has the original wiring diagram And it was out on porch for 3 years 😢 I really appreciate your help man
Hello. I'm the total opposite of a "handy-man", I can't do anything. Dryer got busted; your video was incredibly helpful. Followed every step and got AA+ from customer (wife). Thanks a lot. Alex P.
You are awesome old dude. You saved me 100 bucks also I dig the groovy background music and I am impressed you kept your white shirt clean! Peace brother!
This helped out quite a bit. I ended up having to re-seat the idler pulley from the rear access panel. It now works great (even better than it did before the belt broke) like a brand new dryer! Thank you very much, sir!
Quite impressive. The easy to understand stepwise instructions gives me an impression that you have been a maths teacher. I am having trouble with my frigidaire dryer, and based on the squeeling sounds, I assume it's the belt. I will try to see if I can handle the project as easily as you did. Thanks and regards.
Awesome video! Everything was exactly as you showed on the video. It only took about 15 -20 minutes to do the whole thing. Just what I needed. Great job!
I just end warheads this video today (January 3rd) and fixed my dryer in about 20mins, very simple steps to follow. And I'm a woman, so it's chick friendly too :) thanks again
Thank you very much , I have a sears washer/dryer combo model # 417902000, I bought used over 15 yrs ago... I love it....unfortunately , recently both belts have gone out & sounds like the bearing on the dryer is also shot, I am assuming I will need to get to them from the back of the unit, is that correct assumption? Would you have any vids that you would recommend for me to watch which deal with those type of combos? Again, thank you very much...:-}
I received the belt today. Tried to fix it, but belt seemed too big. It's the right part number and same dryer you're working on, but drum will not turn. Any suggestions?
Hi, I had bought the belt from partselect and installing it. It seems that the drum does not turning properly, so I just wanted to know which side of the belt should be connected to the drum? Thank you.
Thanks Steve, you're the man! Now I gotta find a video to see how to fix a washer! The agitator on mine is not really agitating much! he he! Thanks again! =)
Hi there, Thanks for your question! Can you supply your model number? The answer to your question isn't necessarily black and white, so having your model number will better help me answer it for you. Cheers.
Does anyone know how in the heck the motor pulley, not the idler pulley can fall off. My belt came off but didn't break and the smaller pulley is gone. The round piece on the motor itself is flat with the round rubber piece around it. Can this be replaced? Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks so much for your video. I have followed your instructions and I'm almost done, but I cannot get the pulley on my machine to lift up so I can thread the belt through. Any tips for me? WD-40? A gentle hammer? I am a 73 year old single woman trying to save a few bucks. I hate to call a repair man when I have done 95% of the work, but 95% doesn't get my dryer working.
How do you find the right sized belt I bought a belt for the same model but it was about a inch and a half longer than needed and didn't work please some one help🙏
The manufacturer does not show that part on any model numbers that we have looked at. We suspect that the part is only used to keep the drum from falling out of the cabinet in the assembly line. It is a non-functional part.
Thank you for the response, my drum seems to be banging against the top of the dryer (loudly) and I checked the belt and feels tight and noticed that piece was broken, any suggestions as to what else would cause the banging ?.....Thank You !!
Thanks for the video in the middle of reparing, I noticed that my dryer is missing the front guide so the drum is resting on the blower housing and its making a groove. do you have part number for the front guide? model glgr331as1. it looks just like the one in the video..Thanks

Hello Mr. Steve.. I have a problem with my dryer.. some technician just came and "fix" it but it does not heat too much... is it true that the exhaust pipe should be free like a L or can be as an S? Could you show me a video of the heat sensors please?
Thank you for this video. This just happens to be a belt that Lowes keeps in stock. Is the Lowes belt far inferior belt to what I might buy from an appliance vendor or PartSelect. Be honest, don't be a homer. I need to get this dryer fixed Monday morning.
My dryer is the same as this one. I put the belt around the pulley and motor the same way, but the belt feels sort of loose still and the fan does not rotate when I spin the drum. any ideas?
Generally only one fan is used and its purpose is to pull the heated air that the element has created inside the clothes drum thru the lint filter and ont to the exhaust vent. So is is doing both jobs sucking air out of the drum and blowing it to the exhaust. Great question.
Hey Chris, Sometimes that can be a daunting task if attempting by yourself. Have someone hold the bulkhead steady while you work the drum over the felt. You can also use a plastic spatula to help.
Hello, I have a Frididaire Dryer Model # LG20152ES0. Can you tell me the part number for the belt replacement? The drum spins but if the load is large/heavy it seems to be slipping. Also needs a rear bearing, WD 40 worked for awhile, but, there now is a lot of metal dust at the rear of the unit. This model is 11yrs old and has never given me any issues until now with a family of 5.
ferb5700ds0. i took a look at it with my father and it appears to be the same outwardly as the video but there seems to be two more screws near the bottom

Have to disagree with you on one point - if it’s fixed and the dryer works then guess what? - you have mechanical ability. 😊

AMEN!!!!!! YOUR AWESOME! :) Me and my mom fixed the dryer together. Who needs a man when we got you?! :) Thank you
Thanks Diane! Glad we could help you and mom out!
Would have liked to see what the rear bearing looked like, is it just like a u shaped recess that the drum drops down onto?
I received the belt today. Tried to fix it, but belt seemed too big. It's the right part number and same dryer you're working on, but drum will not turn. Any suggestions?

Will it be the same for a Gas dryer?! Great video btw, thank you!
Why didn’t you remove the belt from the front of the drum? Why was it necessary to lift the drum and get it around the rear bearing?
You make it look so easy!!!
MrJazmania It is that easy!!
Couldn't figure out how to get the belt back on. Thanks for the demonstration, especially the rear camera!
Thank you for your video. You saved me a lot of time
I did change the belt but two of the wires got Disconnected and now there is no power

No damaged area of the belt but when I manually turn the drum it reaches a point where I feel a 'shift' and the banging noise occurs

The reason I ask is that I replaced this belt about a year ago with the Lowes product.
I cannot speak for the product that Lowe's handle, however, we are supplying parts directly from the manufacturer.
My dryer is the same as this one. I put the belt around the pulley and motor the same way, but the belt feels sort of loose still and the fan does not rotate when I spin the drum. any ideas?
Can i do this project without disconnecting the power from the mains outlet ?

The belt part number is PS1148434 and will refer you to this same repair video.
Me podrias decir de cuantos Kilogramos (Kg) es esta secadora?
Great video. Thanks!
Thank you it was very helpful
I had no idea. Thank you very much
How do you free the drum bearing if the old belt is broken? Can't lift the belt to free the bearing if it's broken.
StephenGrayce Which model number do you have?
just fixed mine while watching your video but my tenchener was on the right though but thank you..
Just fixed mine from the back access panel, it's on the right if you're back there yes, left if you're reaching through the front
Thanks, fits perfectly.
on my end is spinning but is spinning slowly, anyone know what could be the reason?
what if the belt is super tight?
Thanks. Extremely good
Thank you, Steve.
Very helpful!!! Well done.
Me podrias decir de cuantos Kilogramos (Kg) es esta secadora?
i have this dryer someone like this but it has two screw near the bottom on the front panel also and not sure how to get at them
What is your model number?
ferb5700ds0. i took a look at it with my father and it appears to be the same outwardly as the video but there seems to be two more screws near the bottom
Not screws, just hindges, lift the front end up, and it will come off
Can you just come to my house and fix it? 😂😂 Looks very easy but I feel like I would mess it up. 😂
I need that front guid but I cant find it
Can you send us your Dryer's model number? Hopefully we can help!
Friend's dryer stopped turning, so they put it out to the curb! "Too busy" to replace a belt.
I think he forgot to reinstall the little plastic front guide.
Thank you Soo much!
make sure you don't script the screw on the doors because it won't sit right afterwards
thank to share your knowledge.
¿Cuántos kilogramos es??
it has been very noisy how to know what's problem in my dryer
