When I think of great Strat tone, this is it. Gotta love that little something extra that only 6L6 power tubes can deliver. The other tone I love was when I got to play a friend's all original '65 Strat through my 1970 Marshall superlead. That was years ago but I'll never forget that incredible punch. Thanks for letting this great amp shine.
I recently got my first tube amp, a Peavey ValveKing 50w head. Obviously not even close to that Two rock but I’m really enjoying the tube feel…. One day I hope to own something like that 🤙🤙
sicha sick thanks! It’s a beast of an amp. I’d recommend getting a high quality attenuator like the Fryette Power Station of you really wanted the screaming blues tones at low volume levels
I’d argue it’s more work to get great sounds out of this amp with humbuckers…but they’re there. Just takes time. Not as easy as flipping from EQ1 to EQ2, but that gets you headed in the right direction. Won’t get you LP through a cranked Marshall sounds though…definitely voiced more like a Fender-ish amp.
Great demo, thanks! With the healthy amount of dirt from the OD in the preamp, where do you put a delay? Have you tried the passive loop and how did it go, or do you prefer to get your delayed tone distorted when putting in front of the preamp?
Cant decide between the Trad.Clean, Bloomfield and the SSS.... leaning towards the SSS... which one work best for volumes on the lower side @peachguitars
If you’re using a pedal platform, it’s hard not to go traditional clean or SSS. The trad clean and Bloomfield are better choices if you plan on getting your dirt from the amp rather than pedals
DividedByTime Probably because most are based off a vintage model (like how the one in the video is based off a ‘62). The custom shop builds more modern ones like the postmodern series and that uses more modern features. But for the people who are looking for more vintage like Stratocasters, it’s more realistic to have the vintage parts (clay dots, wide dot spacing and pick guard screw pattern).
Darren C I think you missed what I was saying, I was saying does the custom shop find the 6 screw bridges superior to the 2 screw modern? Not just the 62 and the reissue
Darren C I’m not with Fender so I can’t act like I know everything, but most people seem to find little to no difference between the modern and vintage tremolo. Not sure if the custom shop sees a difference, but I would say it’s just for vintage accuracy, not for superior performance.
Great sounding amp, and lovely playing. But you've gotta work on that posture, dude. Your back will really start to give you grief if you're not careful. I speak from experience...
Still beyond me why anyone would want/need a 100 watt amp who isn’t playing very large venues. Hell, even in large venues they’re always telling you to turn down. I’d argue no one needs 100 watts w/ modern PA’s. I love and appreciate clean headroom as much as the next guy but there’s PLENTY of headroom in a 2 6L6/2-4 6v6 amp/4 EL84/2 EL34 etc amp. There’s just no way someone’s pushing air & hitting the power section w/ a 100 watt amp. I just don’t see the functionality of that even with a half power switch. Do any of you feel the same or do you like 100+ watt amps? I always see guys playing half stacks on 1 or 2 and it’s never made sense to me. I wanna open my amps up, move some air, and hit the power tubes. Love to hear some thoughts.
100 watts can definitely be an overkill, however, the Bloomfield Drive -- along with the TS1 - can vary between 50/100 watts at the flip of a switch. I play Two Rock amps in my gigs at 50 watts and the headroom is just a celestial, divine thing. Don't forget watts do not equal to volume in the linear, proportional way we intuitively imagine. The idea with these amps to be able to maintain huge clean tones at any volume, with both articulation and clarity. Just my two cents. Cheers!
Us strat players need the bass extension lol. There's merits to small amps, medium sized amps and big amps at all volumes. I typically prefer the way big amps sound at all volumes but YMMV. Also an amp like this with a very nice master and a focus on cleaner sounds work a lot better at lower volumes than trying to play a metal panel super lead in a volume restricted club.
The tones are huge and make a difference when comparing it to a smaller wattage amp. Smaller wattage amps can sound great and give you some sag and great tones (JTM45, still loud). However, the power of a 100 watt amp is hard to replicate. The tones are very different and thus I only use high power amps usually. For recording and even live playing, I now put it through a special load box due to the volume issues at venues. Run it to IRs and the tones are still there.
You titled thas as "Custom Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive"... How is this different from the stock Bloomfield drive amp? Is there any difference? I ask because I am in the process of getting a stock unit,

Oh yeah! That was Fantastic! Thanks for making this video John.
That amp goes with my jacket. And sounds sublime
Shame it doesn’t go with the cab

Stupendous, it covers all the bases of what I want an amp to do.
Nice very very nice John. I glad you played the dale wilson 62 as well. The two rocks really brings out the player
That’s the sound we are all seeking for ... Awesome !
Congrats for your new amp. Amazing tones!
Wow! Quite possibly the best amp I have ever heard! How does it sound at conversation/TV volumes? Can you still get tones like the ones in this clip??
sicha sick thanks! It’s a beast of an amp. I’d recommend getting a high quality attenuator like the Fryette Power Station of you really wanted the screaming blues tones at low volume levels
Sweet, thanks!
Peach Guitars
What settings would you use if you had a power station connected?
Great use of the tremolo. You use it musically and subtly and don’t overdo it like SO many people I hear play tend to.
Sounds Killler man! Very mean sounding which I dig! Do you have a video detailing your pedal board?
Wonder what the settings are in this video? With the camera zoomed in on the amp the master was almost all the way up-the would be LOUD!!!
I came here wondering if this one could do the dumble/SRV stuff as well as the other two rocks. Now I know it can 🤘🏻🎸
Are these amps worth it for humbucker players?? I don’t play a strat and never see anybody doing extensive demos with a les Paul for example

Stellar playing
Very impressive and convincing tones! Congrats!
literally breathtaking 🤯
What pickups are those? Sounds great!
Sounds amazing.
Very cool ! What speakers did you get in the 2x12 John WGS? Bill doing some great things back at TR.
bvninja correct!
Great demo, thanks! With the healthy amount of dirt from the OD in the preamp, where do you put a delay? Have you tried the passive loop and how did it go, or do you prefer to get your delayed tone distorted when putting in front of the preamp?
I use a Bloomfield Drive and have a Boss DM-2 and Deluxe Memoryman in the loop and an old Echoplex EP-3 in front, loop sounds great.
Out of this world !
Peach Guitars how would you compare this and the classic reverb signature?
Wow , sounds great! What kind of fender custom shop strat is that??
Fender Custom Shop Dale Wilson Masterbuilt 62 Stratocaster
HEAVY RELIC BLEACHED 3TSB
How does this thing stack against the silver sterling signature?
Do you think yous will ever do a demo of that blackface Super Reverb?
Great tone!!!
Who know what's that mic on a cab?)
sounds great!
Brilliant, mate!!
Beautiful amp man beautiful tone
You must have the choice of so many lovely amps! That is killer though. What a great clean sound! Enjoy.

Really does sound good
But the price????? I'd be scared to take it anywhere...... I could put boss Katana stickers on it....
Beautiful
Is that tobacco suede?
I wonder how they came to use Bloomfield's name to this amp.
tommc49 from what I heard, there is an actual street named “Bloomfield Dr.” just down the way from Two Rocks location in CA
Why do all the custom shop fenders use 6 bolt bridge, but they use 2 bolt as modern?
And those damn slotted tuners vs locking

Because its a 62 strat thats how they were then😂😂 look at the professional strat for a more modern take on things

Does John’s Bloomfield have stock power and preamp tubes? If so, what kind are they? Or are they NOS tubes?
Toy Boy Your attempt at humor fell short of the mark.
power tubes are 6v6 i believe he said they were 6l6gc in the video. pre amp are just 12ax7
Very nice, are you not going deaf though? Surely that must be really loud, or are the tones that good at a low volume?
Jake Fowler pardon?
Peach Guitars haha thought so. That’s why I’m a very recent Kemper convert!! Haha. Look after your ears buddy!!
Were i can bay it??????????????????
Outstanding playing!
damn....instant srv if you want it...awesome!
WHAT IN THE HEAVENS HAPPENS AT THE MINUTE 10 MARKER...? THAT TONE!!!!! Dear mother of god.
JUDGE GOD ALMIGHTY DOES NOT HAVE A MOTHER BUT HE LOVES TO SEND BLASPHEMERS TO HELL FOREVER!! ENJOY YOUR STAY ITS REAL HOT!!
@@steveburchfield5576 Wow......

Martin Cliffe I had to do it like that as I had a massive hole appear right in the crotch of my jeans before we recorded this!
Eek, fair enough :)
Peach Guitars explains that ballsy sound was nuts
@@PeachGuitars that’s awesome! Kudos for calling it like it is👍🏻
Great playing! Fantastic sounding amp!
What mic was used to record this video please?
Personally I thought you sounded best on the boss Katana Artist demo...

My thought is that you are just a pussy,
4.800 £ for the rig: sounds good but... wow !! Is Michael Bloomfield's estate getting at least royalties for the use of his name ? Nice playing BTW :)
frantisca no tie to Michael. Reference is to a street in California near the Two Rock guy’s homes
Oh wow 10:21!!!!!
ohh
Is it just me but I find the studio signature a better sounding amp for blues
Phwooooooar
You could buy a nice car for the ridiculous price charged for these.
nerd
Kinda, kinda, kinda... you clearly watch too much American TV 😐
We get it. You're rich.
You titled thas as "Custom Two-Rock Bloomfield Drive"...

I think Custom because of the Suede covering... did you get your one?
4 words... Boss Tube Amp Expander...
