This is how a "comparison" should be done. Same guitar, same lick, back to back. No BS. Well done guys! Wish there is more comparison video done in this fashion!
Ordered a Classic Reverb Signature 100 w 2/12 cab. Such sweet glassy highs and the way the notes bloom… wow. I’ve also heard it’s the best pedal platform amp.
Sounded amazing 💯😎 The clean channels sound very very similar on my phone. I’m sure you could probably hear a little more of a difference sitting in front of the speaker cabinets. I think if you are trying to choose which one to buy you would need to go play both amps and go through all the different settings on both amps and see which one works for you as a player the best.
There’s a bigger difference in person than I’m hearing here. the CRS sounds more rounded, and mellow, maybe a shade darker than the Bloomfield, the Bloomfield sounds a bit more scooped and has more of a 3D sound. Also with the lead Chanel and it’s extra gain, it’s hit a bit more range for different types of music. I prefer the cleans and gain, and total sound of the Bloomfield more. I can see the CRS is well suited to blues.
They do sound very similar, although I thought the Bloomfield was tiny bit more open sounding (honestly, so tiny that I had to rewind a couple of times). In conclusion, they both sound great. What I find really amazing is the consistency - tube amps are famous for variance in even consecutively built models just due to minor variations in tubes and hand construction. Well done, Two Rock.
I disagree, the CRS is more open, the Bloomfield is more forward in the mids and has a less squishy more brittle top end. Both are wonderful - great demo!
@@Ganache30 our ears are amazing machines and everyone has slightly different sounds that appeal. Dig your thoughts here! I found the CRS slightly too mid-forward for my taste but I’d buy either of them and play it with pleasure and gusto. Both exemplary! Really appreciate your thoughts! Keep on playing and cheers!
@@Ganache30 I agree I think the classic reverb signature has the best Bloom and dynamics and high-end is just sweet and you can hear the quack of the pickups. The Bloomfield sounds good, but it seems more compressed overall.. probably what you want if you play medium or higher gain or want more more of a Dumble like gain structure.
Call it hair, call it bark, but the Bloomfield Drive has more of it. That doesn't make it better or worse, it's just what I hear. The Bloomfield is also more pronounced in the high mid presence overall as you went through the different settings. I believe with slight tweaking you can make either sound like the other. I own a Studio Signature that I love. It would be interesting to see if you set the switch to the Scolfield position on the Signature if it would resemble the Bloomfield even more. I think it would. Great video!
I just watched two videos trying to get an idea of what these amps sound like. And in both videos, they start out with an out of tune guitar! Why do a demo of a $5,000 amp and not tune your guitar first? I had to turn them both off because it drove me crazy!
So, it sounds to me like the Bloomfield Drive can do the CRS thing with zero compromise, but also has a second channel to have even more gain. Do they feel significantly different to play through? Wonder if one feels stiffer than the other.
I drove miles to check out my I35 through a Bloomfield and was ticked that Two Rock voiced it for strats and LPs but not for hollowbodies or even semi-hollows. Maybe someone can prove my assessment wrong.
I had both profiles on my Kemper, sold some gear, sold some more gear, and more, and traded even more to finally get a real CRS, sooooo happy, sold Kemper.
@@TheD33pthawt congrats man! Unfortunaly, here in Argentina thats something impossible to do, so I would be happy with just the profiles. Haha Stay Safe Man!
@@GonzaloMelo1990 If it helps you the profiles I found that worked the best with my Kemper and guitars (JazzMaster and Stratocaster) were the ToneJunkies profiles you can find on their site. tonejunkiestore.com/profile-packs/too-stone-bloom-kemper-profile-pack and tonejunkiestore.com/profile-packs/too-stone-crs-kemper-profile-pack
A professional guitarist told me ones that there are many good profiles for the Kemper in regard to overdrive sounds, but he has yet to find a convincing clean profile. Kemper cannot do that.
This video is great thank you and cements in my own mind why I recently decided to order the CRS instead of a Bloomfield Drive. The CRS platform is all about that vocal tone that blooms in a very organic manner. The Bloomfield has a very similar EQ but it does not present the tone in the same vocal/organic fashion. Over headphones I hear a flatter, stark.. more metallic presentation of tone. Just not quite as musical in my opinion. To me it's a bit like taking two identical HiFi amps, but one is hand wired with a little more attention to components and layout to get the most natural/vocal voice the engineers can tweak out of it. So on a quick listen yes they sound pretty much the same. But factor in a more organic bloom, richer presentation, just more vocal like nuances and for a clean to edge of break up player, there is a noticeable difference. Now if you dig this analogy, when you actually play the two amps, I suspect you will start to feel this difference between the two. Despite my comments I appreciate many customers would see the Bloomfield as a better proposition given the glorious Drive it offers. I realise all this is very cork sniffy, and splitting hairs, but at this price I think customers are entitled to be picky ;-) So I think if you want the ultimate nuanced vocal clean to edge of break up tone, go for the CRS. If you prefer the greater flexibility ranging from clean to driven sounds like you get with a multi channel amp concept, then go for the Bloomfield. Both are superb in their own way! Cheers :-)
Loved this video great job. I thought the Bloomfield was more open tighter bass maybe more mids and punch, the Classic Reverb more vintage fender mid scoop giving more sparkle on the highs a little more loose. I have it in my head the bloomfield might work better with humbuckers and single where the Classic Reverb might be better with singles, what are your thoughts on this? Also, can you please do a tone comparison between the 40 watt Bloomfield and the 100 watt Bloomfield with your thoughts on the differences, that would be truly amazing.
I’ve heard others comment the same as you about single coil vs humbucker guitars trough these two amps. If you want the ultimate classic Fender tone with your Fender style guitars then go CRS. If your focus is more humbucker guitar and rock then go for the Bloomfield with a flatter response EQ. While both sound great and very similar there’ll be that little bit extra mojo for you on one or the other depending on which guitars and styles you prefer to play.... and if you can’t decide and your wealthy, just get both for a very sweet wet dry setup and a massive hole in your wallet😊
They sound like the same amp with a few different features that werent showcased here. I dont think anybody is a difference, and it would come down to just a few features.
Similar but not the same. If you get to play both side by side you’ll know which one you’ll prefer. I reckon the CRS has that ultimate fidelity Fender vibe. Slightly squishy but in the best possible way, especially with single coil guitars. The Bloomfield I think is arguably more versatile for rock and possibly preferred by predominantly humbucker guitar lovers. It has a flatter EQ, but I feel more emotionally connected (that voodoo mojo vibe :-) when I hear people playing through the CRS. Check out Mick & Dan’s dream guitar rigs on “That Pedal Show”. Mick’s CRS tone at the start with a vintage strat is SPECIAL. Dan plays through a Matchless HC30 but it doesn’t have the same mojo for me. In any case all guitar enthusiasts should check out their show and get to learn a lot about using gear. I even prefer their Q&A videos to learn about different ideas with my own gear. Cheers
Thanks for the vid. Like all sounds it’s subjective. Went for the CRS as it’s a more focused clean sounding amp. I like to get my drive from pedals Both are superb amps and I would have both, but have one, it’s the CRS🙏🏿
You missed the only one sound that is radically different between these two amps. I had both of these amps and returned the reverb. I work with mine daily started with the reverb then went to the Bloomfield. The difference is the fat gain sound that Bloomfield have. I kept waiting for you to do this there wouldn't any vision. On Bloomfield turn the clear gain to 75% your clean input verify that the clean is clean. Now turn the gain up on the higher gain knob in the middle the amp and set it to 75% Ow use the gain channel master dial a balance the televeld that's when you see what a Bloomfield. Have fun. Btw, the frc saich is read compared ti bllomfirldm
The point of this video was to answer the question "how similar are the cleans on a Bloomfield Drive verses a CRS", which is a question we get all the time here at the shop. I wanted to demonstrate how similar the cleans can be and to see if there is some overlap between the two. We have other videos focusing on both amps individually. Thanks for watching!
@@AustinGuitarHouse Hi @Austin Guitar House. I bought the CRS first and didn't like it at all. It wasn't because of the clean sound tough. I didn't care for the FET or tone stack bypass to reach something even close to a gain sound. The Bloomfield sounds every bit as good on its clean sound and has the cascading gain channel too. I use both channels on my gigs and am happy every time I hit the on switch. I'm thankful that I returned the CRS and bought the Bloomfield. Humbucker music's customer service was awesome, and the amp is as well. I have a Fuchs ODS 2, a Freidman BE-50, and many other amps, vintage and current. The two best ones are the Two Rock and the Fuchs. I do not have a preference between either one. My wife performs with me, and sings, plays piano and particularly acoustic guitar. She prefers the Fuchs. I'll admit that the Fuchs is more versatile, but I love my Bloomfield as well. IMHO you would have to want a single channel amp to buy a CRS. With the Bloomfield, I get the best of both worlds. Guy
I didn’t write this post that starts with “you missed the only” and I’m upset and worried to see this. I haven’t seen any activity that looks like my account was hacked. Do you guys at Austin Guitars know anything about this. My god, the spelling is atrocious and these aren’t words that I would use. It says “I kept waiting for you to do this”, which is where it really goes off the rails. I think I’ve seen your channel before but certainly wasn’t “waiting for you to do this”. Nor would I think to say “fat gain” or much of what’s written in the bottom section. I’m worried about this and would appreciate any information that I can get about this post. What’s really odd is that some of this is true which I wrote in my real post below. My post that’s dated today is accurate and is a response to an email that I received earlier today from Austin Guitars. The avatar is even mine. I didn’t even see this post until just now, which is five hours after my real post. Thanks, Guy
PLEASE tune that f’n guitar, I would love to watch more of this comparison but could only last about 10 seconds with it. If you can’t hear that your guitar is out of tune then I’m sure you wouldn’t know thing one about dialing in amp tone. You’re killing me!!
Why was that intonation bothering me so much?! Gah! I normally love your videos but couldn't hang with the first 4'. Maybe I just hate those pickups or something. Thanks for comparing them both, I love my Bloomfield.
Reminder that if you need an amp like this you are struggling with feelings of inadequacy. I say this with love... Learn to play better, get a reasonable amp. Wake up and smell the coffee...
Sure this is like a high end HiFi comparison which is arguably pointless over RUclips audio, but it’s still a comparison for those interested. By all means share some experience and ideas for other amps that support your sentiment. That’s the positive of social media. Keep things objective and constructive based on experience amongst fellow enthusiasts and we get to bypass the noise. Can you do a studio signature vs crs?
I 2nd this!
When we have a TS1 vrs Bloomfield, or TS1 vrs CRS?
nice attention to detail using a head switcher.
I feel like the Bloomfield holds together better in the lower frequencies as you add gain.

Take a look at the Casino Guitars channel. One of the owners plays his ‘61 ES355 through a Two Rock CRS…some of the best tone I’ve heard.
Awesome demo, Thank you. Now if I could hear the differences I would make my decision. (Please!)
