I love my Studio Signature! I had used a Fender Concert Amp (made in 1994 or so) for nearly 25 years. The Two Rock gives me a very similar scooped-midrange sound but with more focus and clarity. And the thing is capable of being LOUD! The small physical size is convenient too. 16" wide, 9.5" tall and 10" deep. By contrast, my Concert Amp is 23" wide.
I hear you regarding owning the Bloomfield drive and still finding cool settings a year or two later. I started out liking the deep switch up on the clean channel with the strat and the mid switch up on the lead channel which I couldn't do at gigs so ended up using drive pedals as my overdrive. I now just discovered bright switch up mid and deep down and putting a RFT tube in V4 and I'm getting an awesome balance between channels and finally getting to use the lead channel more at gigs, changing the settings on my gain pedals to provide different clean/mid boosts for different flavours, sounds amazing.
Gigging with a fender, I got use to having 3 all the time and took 2 to the gig so when the inevitable happened I could put the back up on. Then still have 2 cause I got the 3rd ready.

It’s definitely a great option. Depends on if you’re using mostly single coils or hum buckers in my opinion though. Higher wattage always is better for hi headroom though.

I suspect that a Gibson hollowbody with P90's (or maybe a Charlie Christian) through a Two Rock Classic Reverb Signature would give me the Kenny Burrell electric jazz cleans I need (despite so many extra watts of power). I tried a Collings Soco with humbuckers thru a Bloomfield which didn't work for my playing, but I think the problem was the PAF style humbuckers. Finding a hollowbody with p90s and a Two Rock in the same store to check out my theory, however, is not likely -- the closest Two Rock dealer is maybe 70 miles, and they don't carry vintage. And another 300 for the second closest, and they are sold out.
I did have an additional question, which is probably a little basic. Are you running the amp through the OX and then on to the mic'd speaker cab, then to the mixer and out to reference monitors? If so, were you getting any significant latency?
Greetings from London, great playing and tone as always. Hey thx so much! I don’t know much about the Bi Onyx unfortunately. The SS is essentially a 35w CSR. So, quite similar. Higher wattage equals headroom of course. If you’re using high gain pedals or playing stages where this is important, the more watts the better. That being said, I just played an outdoor gig with a 40w TS1 and it was plenty. I’ve used the SS on big stages and it didn’t disappoint either. The thing about TRs is that they just have so much sensitivity and cut through the band. Virtually any wattage works. I will say that I’m loving the 40w TS1 and it’s OD.
I'm buying a studio Sig because of this video! I have one question though, do you get any hiss using the reverb on the studio sig head/cab, I've read some people saying it has a noticeable hiss, I would appreciate your thoughts on this, thanks!
I own a Studio Signature and it is amazing! So clean and full sounding. It has the best spanking sound when your playing funky rhythm guitar. I can't recommend a better sound amp, and I own Fenders, Bogners, Suhrs, and this little 35 watt and a few choice pedals will get you through any gig.
@@glencruciani Excellent! thank you very much, I'm waiting for mine it'll arrive near December/January very excited!! I ordered the head/cab 1x12 open back version.
Thanks for the video. Well, as a professional working session player for the past 18 years and someone who owned a fair share of tube amps including high-end hand-wired amps before, I would say yes this amp sounds and feels great. However, and honestly, this is just another good clean platform for all sound design purposes. I have an old Hiwatt that sounds so incredibly balanced and yet has incredible amount of headroom that I don't think ANY amp on the planet could compete with it headroom/dynamic wise. Do I say it's the best amp on the planet? Hell No! ... I have a Friedman BE that when it comes to Plexi and Modded Marshall sounds, can't be beaten easily. And needless to say that the touch sensitivity and dynamic of my Friedman is second to none, period. At many settings, even with healthy amount of gain, I can easily go from almost clean/clean sounds to spongy and tight high gain screaming tone with JUST my playing dynamics (not even touching the guitar volume knob). Do I say it's the best amp on the planet? Again, Hell No! ... I have played couple of Two Rocks and actually recorded with them numerous times. They sound great and unique with their own sonic signature to them. They feel great as well when are cranked a little bit (TBH did not really care for them when they were at bedroom level volume as they can sound a bit stiff when they are low in volume), and they are built like tanks as well. But I would say my Wizard, Friedman BE and DS, Naylor SD60, Komet and Divided By 13 are all wonderful with as much dynamic and headroom as you want them to have, and can be amazing pedal platforms as well. They sound just different to one another and have their own unique tone to them. And I personally cannot ever say one of them is DA BEST amp! It's just absurd IMHO. ... Now, saying that, being a Marshall/Hiwatt player, personally and in the past couple of years I had phenomenal sounds from my Friedman and Komet amps that I could never, ever and I emphasis NEVER achieve on my Two Rock, and no I'm not talking about super high gain metal stuff. In other words, good luck getting that Bloom/Sponginess and yet tight bottom-end tone and feel of a Friedman when your Two Rock's gain is dimed with a booster in front also dimed. And also good luck getting that Dumble inspired sag and touch sensitivity of a Komet on any of your Two Rock amps. See my point? ... Don't get me wrong though, Two Rocks are great and generally speaking sound very direct, instantaneous with sharp attack which can be tamed with different settings and pedals, but overall, they are just another very good pedal platforms, nothing really magical about them, just like there is nothing magical about any other amps either. Just my two cents.
I like the studio one with the blackface sound, less mids, less gain, more chime. Do they pair with any amps in particular for running together? Clean R&B and Gospel sounds with me with archtop or strat
Great vid, great playing, great tone. Thanks! It appears you have hearing protection on when you're sitting next to the amp during the explanations. Just how loud was it in the room with you? I know you probably weren't tracking the decibel levels, but I'm curious. (Would be awesome if there was a decibel meter in the corner during vids like this. :) )
Thx! Just wearing in ear monitors which are actually my headphones. The cabinet as I show later in the video is in an iso room so, the in ears allow me to hear the cab and bass and mix my levels accordingly.
The playing is very tasteful, the tone of that Casino is beautiful and the overall tone is very clear and impressive. But I can’t get past spending over 5k only to stick a $200 pedal in front of it.
Hey there! How's the Cardiff holding up after some months? Still like it? I'm also interested in getting one, looking for punchy low end (think Mayer'ish/SRV style tone).
Thanks for the video. I'd love to also see a comparison video that is truly blind with all amps set at the same volume level comparing Two Rock amps to a Princeton, Deluxe Reverb, Twin and some of the other, more affordable usual suspects (even throw in a Katana Artist or a Blug Mercury for the fun of it). I don't doubt that Two Rock makes a great amp, and I hope to have one some day. Two Rock is at least half way there to being the new Dumble.
Because they're absolutely f****** awesome sounding? Only reason I don't have one of those Bloomfield combo models is about $5,000 but otherwise it would be my main gigging amplifier and I would love it more than life itself
Great amps but I think currently the best builder out there is Steve Carr. That guy not only makes insanely well built and tonally inspiring amps, he also somehow makes them have almost no background hiss or noise. I do love Two rock though but I agree, the price is hard to justify.
Carr amplifiers. They're freaking amazing and no hiss or noise it's eerily clean. I haven't tried two Rock, would like to plug into one someday. I have the Carr rambler and it's a great gigging amp.
Hey Corey you have a tab of that intro Meters-esk tune you did on this video? I follow you on TrueFire so if it's there can you point me to the lesson?

There are hundreds of guitar amps that sound great. The trick to getting "The Sound" that you've heard used by great musicians over and over again...Is your fingers..
I had a Two-Rock Studio Pro 35 Plus, and like a huge idiot, I’ve sold it because I thought I needed to try something else... oh boy, I regret it deeply now (mainly since finances are tougher now), but all I want and dream of now, is the new Studio Signature. I will have this amp sooner or later!

Man I got a silver sterling signature in a trade and I’ve been kicking myself because I feel like the Bloomfield would suite me a little better, makes it even tougher cause can’t demo it anywhere local- anyone have a input on the two amps?
@@coreycongilio it is a great amp, and I am still new to it- dialing in a clean sound is like 1 2 3 best clean ever, but the issue I’m having is getting the edge of break up/mild over drive. To my feel it’s stiff in the way it breaks up, the notes sound like they kind of collapse when gain is introduced- maybe it’s user error, I wonder if I should re bias the tubes or something
@@coreycongilio also the sterling definitely excels with finger picking, something about the dynamics is off the charts. However I feel like the same thing that makes it a finger pickers dream also plays into that stiffness you feel when you dig in- who knows maybe I’m overthinking it lol
@@tonyz4292 To me, the SS won't have the saggy breakup of an old Fender etc. Neither will the Bloomfield IMO. These are touch sensitive amps that have high headroom which make them an incredible platform for pedal users. Sounds like you'd be happier with a lower wattage amp. The studio sig offers a lot of what you're talking about at a low volume. The TS1 is also highly versatile with regard to drive and breakup.
@@coreycongilio interesting thanks for the info! Hopefully the Bloomfield does it for me because I ordered one last week! Figured it was kind of in between the ts1 and the silver sterling- maybe I just got myself up shits creek! I hope not lol

Try the amp with a king Tone Dualist or Blues Power. They go together so well. Plenty of demos on Peach guitars channel. Great sounds and playing by the way. awesome
What nerve Two Rock has to show an es335 semihollow as if finally they were going to allow some other type of guitar than a solidbody to demo one of their amps with. BUT DOESNT.
Sorry. You are correct. Somehow I missed it in the video. I don't know how I could have skipped over it. I searched dozens of videos for one demo of an gibson or gretsch hollowbody with a two rock. If you hadn't corrected me, I would have missed it altogether. Thankyou.
If you are looking for a versatile amp that can take you to Tweed, brownface, black face , VOX and even Marshall that has a totally unique sound take a hard look at the PRS DG30 which is also hand wired. David Grissom and Doug Sewell spent 3 years designing this amp. If you are a fan of his PRS DGT Guitar and the thinking behind that you will be a fan of his custom DG30 amp.
Amps like this used to be the standard (hand wired). They truly sound amazing, I have an Australian hand wired amp with custom tranny. Unfortunately they went under once companies like mesa boogie came to Australia. Such a loss.

Hmmm, not sure about that
@@coreycongilio Thanks for the reply
Great vid, great playing, great tone. Thanks! It appears you have hearing protection on when you're sitting next to the amp during the explanations. Just how loud was it in the room with you? I know you probably weren't tracking the decibel levels, but I'm curious. (Would be awesome if there was a decibel meter in the corner during vids like this. :) )
Thx! Just wearing in ear monitors which are actually my headphones. The cabinet as I show later in the video is in an iso room so, the in ears allow me to hear the cab and bass and mix my levels accordingly.
Plus, having the live cabinet in the room would bleed into the vocal mic too much
The playing is very tasteful, the tone of that Casino is beautiful and the overall tone is very clear and impressive. But I can’t get past spending over 5k only to stick a $200 pedal in front of it.
That DGT sounds glorious.
It is a nice one!
Yeah, the DGT is where I started getting even more entertained. What a sound!
Great video! Subbed :)
Dude! I think I’m getting the Two Rock bug 🤣👍 So much clarity and dynamic. I love the sound of the Studio. Is that what you use?
Just bought a Two-Rock Cardiff head. Sounds Amazing! Best amps ever.
Love it!
Hey there! How's the Cardiff holding up after some months? Still like it?
I'm also interested in getting one, looking for punchy low end (think Mayer'ish/SRV style tone).
Nice!!!🙌
Thanks for the video. I'd love to also see a comparison video that is truly blind with all amps set at the same volume level comparing Two Rock amps to a Princeton, Deluxe Reverb, Twin and some of the other, more affordable usual suspects (even throw in a Katana Artist or a Blug Mercury for the fun of it).
I don't doubt that Two Rock makes a great amp, and I hope to have one some day. Two Rock is at least half way there to being the new Dumble.
@Moosey I think you meant AB763? But point taken
Because they're absolutely f****** awesome sounding? Only reason I don't have one of those Bloomfield combo models is about $5,000 but otherwise it would be my main gigging amplifier and I would love it more than life itself
Ha! Go for it when you're ready. You won't be disapointed!
@@coreycongilio i believe it! One of those an a Cornell romany 12...
Great amps but I think currently the best builder out there is Steve Carr. That guy not only makes insanely well built and tonally inspiring amps, he also somehow makes them have almost no background hiss or noise. I do love Two rock though but I agree, the price is hard to justify.
What brand?
Carr amplifiers. They're freaking amazing and no hiss or noise it's eerily clean. I haven't tried two Rock, would like to plug into one someday. I have the Carr rambler and it's a great gigging amp.

Hi, great sound! i don't see any mics in the cab. Is it playback, camera/room mic or i missing something?
Thx! If you watch the whole video I show the mic’ed cab in the isolation booth.
@@coreycongilio Sorry i missed that one! 😂and the beautiful drive sound @15:40 is from the amp or a pedal?
Pedal. Vemuram shanks
Hey Corey you have a tab of that intro Meters-esk tune you did on this video? I follow you on TrueFire so if it's there can you point me to the lesson?
Hey Peter. That tune is actually in my In The Jam course. Hopefully you can find it there!
@@coreycongilio awesome! BTW your courses have jettisoned my playing into a new realm. Priceless stuff….all if it!!! Would love to jam with you on stage one day and maybe I’ll get that opportunity one day😎
Two-Rock = Top of the heap in amp building and tone
They are nice amps but they are definitely not the nicest amps in the world. They are made to a price but that's what they have to do otherwise no one could buy them. Not crapping on the video or anything, it's great and I love the channel but Two-Rock still use some cheap parts in their amps. Maybe the best mainstream amps? however very expensive for the parts that are used.
@@jamesemerson4102 best amps in the world. Bar-none.

Hi Corey. Fantastic video. I love your playing and true fire courses. The studio signature is my dream amp- it's amazing. Any plans to come to the UK to play live/demo two rocks once the Corona craziness is over?
Hey Corey which is that 335 style guitar are you using. Thanks
It’s an Epiphone Casino
The amps sound great and the demo was well done. If I had the bucks..... I'd buy the Casino - the star of the show for me.
I am not finding any samples of any one playing some serious High Gain pedals through Two Rock amps. Can one play serious RAWK on these amps with ten right gain pedals. Please do a demo with some High gain pedals on a Two Rock amp !!
Yep. Sure can. The high headroom rules for high gain pedals. That’s part of the reason I love two rocks. They work perfectly with high gain stuff
@@coreycongilio Love your Videos ! Sold all my Matchless amps a while back and got a Todd Sharp. That is my EL84 amp, Now looking for a High head room 6L6 amp.
I highly recommend the JHS Andy Timmins for medium to high gain stuff: it has amazing synergy with two-rocks
tell us something about that casino
I was sad when you said - you can turn the gain up, but I'm not going to do that
I like my used fender champion 20 fine 😅
No seriously I really like it it’s awesome
Ain't nothin wrong with that!
Ever tried changing the speaker on your two rocks?
Yes actually. I've tried a few different Warehouse speakers with great success
@@coreycongilio I got the stock wgs 1265b, it’s nice but the low end can be a tad extra and the high end can be a little pokey when I dig in at times (running it with a traditional clean) . Which speakers have you liked?
I was thinking of using an alnico cream or a wgs version of a evm12l
I use the G12c. They sound good. However I use a 112 mostly with the stock speaker and it works for me
@@coreycongilio nice . Gotta love those WGS. been running a 10 in my tweed champ and that’s become my #1 go to everyday usually . Crazy how speakers can make or break an amplifiers tonality and feel!
What style are them amps? I love the texture! Is there a name?
Big and clean! Some nods to Fender style circuits but, many of their models feature cascading gain circuits. Thanks for watching.
@@coreycongilio
I meant the fabric on the grill. Both amps seem to have it. It's beautiful and I cant seem to find that pattern at Two Rock web site.
@@coreycongiliocascading circuits are pretty darn normal. Nothing special about that.
Fender/ dumble amps
What prs is that Corey?
I used a DGT and 594 Soap Bar in this vid
Which two rock is best for high gain and rock music?
They’re mostly geared at a more clean to lighter overdrive. I use high gain pedals because they take pedals really well and have high headroom. Just my preference
It sure seems like these amps are easier to get ahold of on RUclips then real life. Hardly any dealers and sold out everywhere lol. I have a feeling if you want one it’s gonna be a while. If anybody has any suggestions where to look I am all ears.
Theyre 12 months back ordered all the time! Check out LA Vintage. Pretty sure they have them in stock
@@coreycongilio thanks!
There are hundreds of guitar amps that sound great. The trick to getting "The Sound" that you've heard used by great musicians over and over again...Is your fingers..
Dude, YOU sound amazing. It's not the amp, It's YOU!
Hey thx so much!
love the new do and the additional soul patch!..got that Shakespeare vibe!..I think you should let it grow longer to nail it!
The new ones are better than ever! You'll get one again for sure!
@@coreycongilio you were right, I should get the new Studio Signature head in a month... I just couldn’t live without my two rock, it’s my desert island amp :)
Yay, the TR SS arrived last week, and it’s awesome... it’s definitely louder than the Studio Pro, but the tone is more open, I like it. I will need to dig it more. Thanks Corey for the video, it was an additional motivation to get a Two Rock again. I knew I was missing something in my life :)
Man I got a silver sterling signature in a trade and I’ve been kicking myself because I feel like the Bloomfield would suite me a little better, makes it even tougher cause can’t demo it anywhere local- anyone have a input on the two amps?
The Sterling is AMAZING. I’d love to have one.
They should be for the price
The best mic to record TwoRock would be...?
How to you switch 100W to 50W
A ha Thank you Your playing is awesome. Thank you for the excellent content
What Epiphone is this?
61 Casino
They should be for the money
Mids sound boxy to me I hate boxy, sounds great with the band though, any way everyone knows the the Boss katana is the best amp in the world
Hey thanks. I will say that the PRS's are definitely boxy and that could be what you're hearing. The Two Rocks actually do a great job at revealing the guitar's character which I think it's doing with these guitars here. Thanks again for watching!
Try the amp with a king Tone Dualist or Blues Power. They go together so well. Plenty of demos on Peach guitars channel. Great sounds and playing by the way. awesome
Already have! Great pedals and Peach is a killer shop! Thx!
What nerve Two Rock has to show an es335 semihollow as if finally they were going to allow some other type of guitar than a solidbody to demo one of their amps with. BUT DOESNT.
What do you mean? I used an Epiphone casino for several of the examples? Which is essentially an ES-330 and not 335.
Sorry. You are correct. Somehow I missed it in the video. I don't know how I could have skipped over it. I searched dozens of videos for one demo of an gibson or gretsch hollowbody with a two rock. If you hadn't corrected me, I would have missed it altogether. Thankyou.
I have 57 champ .i get same tone and only 5 wat
Best clean and mid drive amp yeah...
Did he fart 3:28 ?
Amps like this used to be the standard (hand wired). They truly sound amazing, I have an Australian hand wired amp with custom tranny. Unfortunately they went under once companies like mesa boogie came to Australia.
Such a loss.
forget the amp... that epi sounds sweet !
It's a pretty great guitar!
WAY Cool!
