I can't stand when manufacturers make supersport bikes keyless. If you're in your full lather suit on track, the last thing you want is a remote key in your pocket. It's uncomfortable and can do serious damage is you crash. When they put it on touring and ADV bikes it's annoying enough, but on sport and hyper naked's it's downright stupid.

What a treat that you've gotten to give it a flog! This is one of those toys that - only if you can really afford it - you'd have to have. Taking it out on public roads can only be a frustrating! There's that old friend of mine. An utter petrolhead. Tuned his BMW M3 till the engine blew up. Tuned his Toyota Supra till it outdid most modern sportscars. He got into bikes. He still tunes and beefs them up. He got a Yamaha R1 some time ago. He sold it, it was too fast for his liking. That's supersports-fast.

Brutal bike! Looks wonderful too. Fun to see this review after the recent CBR650R videos. In my view the 650R and the like are road sportsbikes, these track superbikes are a treat if you are fortunate enough to have deeper pockets and play on the track. I enjoy reading the statements and questions from others and your comments and answers to them. I am in the U.S. if that info will help, just in case there is nothing that can be done. This is also the same with other RUclips videos. This is kind of disheartening when the presenter asks for feedback and we can't comply. I started riding in the late 70's early 80's and if you told me back then that we would be able to ride 200HP bikes on normal roads I would have laughed at you and told you that you were mad. I enjoyed the blog.I I like the simplicity of the yoke and the black finish personally, but it would be idea,if on the cheaper one, you have the black finish and only more expensive model a different finish.😁🇬🇧

I’m 56 yrs old, the same height as you and ride a CBR 125r for fun which easily throws me around on my local country lanes but the thought of owning that Fireblade scares the life out of me! ......I know I couldn’t stop myself from opening her up every chance I got but I plan to reach 76 yrs old so as beautiful as it looks and performs, definitely not for me 🤣

I agree with the road/engine manners. My Griso did not appreciate low speeds higher gear. However; the CB1100 is simply a gentlemen about it and when allowed you just dial up the throttle and she moves out right smartly. Very easy. Which has gotten me in some trouble when I take out the big single. :)

I know everybody thinks having too much power is pointless. For me that simply creates more respect for the bike. You ride with more care if it's got a bit of extra power . When you buy second-hand it's useful to have a bike that can handle more than its user will have put on its engine. A bigger cc engine should last longer even if you buy one 10 years old

Had a couple of bikes with 160 bhp they where brilliant but you need to respect the bike ! it would only do what the rider made it do , I really like my Honda’s that one I wouldn’t want to give back it’s superb 👍👍💕

If only more reviewers considered the real practicality of the bikes they were riding. This is truly a marvellous bit of kit. It looks great and goes and stops well. Mainly though it excels at what it was designed to do - thrash around the track with little compromise. It’s also pretty good at doing other things such as zooming around the roads complete and comes complete with a midget monkey perch on the back. But would other bikes be better (that doesn’t mean faster) on the road? I’m sure future owners will enjoy having such a beast and I hope they do, but could they have even more grin for £23,000?
Please forgive me for laughing at your comment: “...and does she fly.” Considering this Fireblade has more maybe 50 more horsepower than your bugsmasher I’m not surprised.

Another great review Andy. But you could have been on any litre bike, they all look the same and sound pretty much the same. You cant use the power on the road as you say, and if you want a bike for the track, you'd be better off getting a well set up dedicated track bike and using the leftover cash to get something proper for the road - like an SV650. But if people want to spend their money on one of these, good on them. I think they're mad :)
