    My dog has been diagnosed with dementia, too, and has a lot of these symptoms. He's at the point where he has lost 5 pounds in the past year because he walks in circles CONSTANTLY :( It is hard to see your best friend change in these dramatic ways

    One day I noticed my 18 year old couldn't open his mouth to drink water. His dementia was reving up. I took him to the vet to be put down. I was not going to let him starve to death. I held him while this all happened. He was always there for me and I wasn't going to leave him. I'll see my boy again.

    I had to let my 13 year old mixed breed terrier go in September due to this. He became aggressive and was attacking his best friend that he had bonded to and he was also snapping and trying to bite me which was totally different from any normal behavior. He was getting lost outside in our fenced yard and couldn't find his way in after he went to the bathroom. He was peeing on furniture. He was constantly moving and not able to just lay down and chill. He wasn't eating unless I fed him by hand. My Vet told me it was time to let him go he was a danger to us now and it wasn't safe for him to be in the house anymore.

      I’m so sorry for your loss. Your dog enjoyed years of love, companionship and caring from you, right until it was time to say goodbye. It takes a deep love to accept the need to let go. You must have made your dog very happy throughout his life, just as he made you happy.

    The fact that dogs are living longer it kind of make sense that they can be inflicted with age-related conditions. It’s sad though but no living creatures live forever, it’s the cycle of life

    • @jeanniedevine1969
      @jeanniedevine1969 Год назад

      Actually years ago dogs lived much longer when we fed them natural foods (good table scraps) instead of crap like kibble. Also the over vaccination of our dogs/cats plus all the flea, tick, heartworm poisons we give them causes cancers and many more adverse conditions. I feed raw, give natural supplements and don't vaccinate or put poisons on their bodies. My dogs and cats tend to outlive all my friends pets!

    Our dog she is 16 starting to show the signs she keeps going outside through the dog door and stands at the back door looking in can't seem to remember to go back in through the dog door. This only happens late in the afternoons earlier in the day after she wakes up in the morning she seems normal goes back through the dog door. I believe once she sleeps seems feel better.

    My little girl has dementia. She’s lost her hearing & is going blind. She only has her peripheral vision and Dr said if she lives another yr, she will lose that too. She’ll be 16 in April.

    In early 2023 my dachshund that was 18 years old at the time. He was howling a lot, growling a little bit and he was very confused of his surroundings. He at some point almost forgot who I was and was acting very strange. I took him to the vet because he was getting his prescription written up at a different vet and I told them about his strange behavior and why he’s acting up. We went over his symptoms and they examined him, they immediately told me that me that my dachshund had Alzheimer’s disease. They said that’s why he is having his symptoms and I was in complete shock of this and I asked them is he gonna have to take medications for this and they said No we are sorry but all you can do is monitor him and keep a good eye on him because he is a very old dog and there is really nothing we can do from here. The vet said all we can do for you is if it worsens then you need to call us and bring him back. His 13 year old little dog brother took extremely good care of him while I was at work during the day and he even cleaned his face and always slept right next to him every night because he was very protective of him. My 13 year old dog Dulles died of a heart attack in June 2023. I still had issues with my dachshunds Alzheimer’s and it was getting worse, I would call the vet and ask them for advice. They said it’s normal and he will be alright, Killer would always fly thru with flying colors. In October 2023 my dachshund died of natural causes related to old age at age 19 years old. 😢😢

    Hello, 🐦
    God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ(His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, He grew up and died on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Jesus Christ sincerely to be God's child John 1:12. "But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on HIS name." That is great news! Will you sincerely receive Holy, Lord Jesus into your life today?
