I love the way she was talking to Rocket as he was throwing up. She turned a sickening moment into an encouraging moment. Saying “Good boy!” and other encouraging words to let him know that this is a great thing because he’s letting out all the bad things. I don’t know, I found it so sweet. As someone who has a fear in vomiting and I just cry every time I do, I would want someone like her, that will turn a nightmare into a blessing.
I think there's a certain percentage of people in the world who have the same problem you do, myself included. It's not so much a 'fear' of vomiting, it's more like the involuntary muscles that are responsible for vomiting aren't as strong or something so it's a much more intensely negative experience overall.
I didn't know bread dough was such a concern for dogs. While I don't have dogs, we're a kitty rescue house. I am going to suspect it's the same way for cats. We have one boy who's obsessed with human food. The next time I make bread, I will be extra careful to make sure he doesn't get it.
Dogs are curious animals who like to literally put everything in their mouth, especially puppies. My pup once tried to catch a toad and started foaming from the mouth, we acted fast and vigorously rinsed her mouth to remove the poison. Thank God we found her just in time before a major disaster. Scared the life out of us. Stayed with us for almost 13 years with many great memories. Now that she's no more, miss her a lot😭😭😭
Years ago my 4 month old puppy ate a 3/4 of a 1lb solid chocolate easter bunny that my grandfather had next to his nightstand. My little guy liked to nap with my grandfather & he thought the chocolate was far enough away but when he fell asleep my dog went to town. He threw up a trail of chocolate & I found him curled up in my laundry pile looking exhausted. He was only 3lbs but he was absolutely fine even though he ate almost as much as he weighed. Throughout his life he was known to steal chocolate or any other food whenever he could & he lived almost 17 years. It’s hard with dogs who steal food or eat things they aren’t supposed to because you can’t watch them every single second.
OH MY GOSH! Glad the dog ended up OK. That reminds me of a very dumb aunt and uncle who always has dogs but did mistake after mistake that made their dogs sick and a couple died. For example, yeah my aunt gave a puppy some rising bread dough, which ended with lots of pain. They were so ignorant, the poor dog did not make it (It was in the early '70s) Also they gave a dog of theirs some meat seasoned with garlic, and a few years after, to another dog, they gave chocolate ice cream too. I love your show because it educated pet owners.
Today i learned something new. I want to adopt a dog and i dont want him ever to come in a situation like this. Thx for telling us, how serious this really is.
If you have more awareness and forward thinking that this woman you should be fine. I don’t think she’s good with dogs- too easily distracted and hasn’t learned from the last one she lost.
That's why you teach your dog boundaries, when we had a dog the kitchen was a "no go area", as well as our bedroom. And we had a forever hungry dachshund, he just could eat and eat again.
OMG, my sister had puppies that got into the garbage and one of them did ingest extra bread dough she threw out. She said, the pups stomach kept growing, figured out what happened and took pup to the vet - had it's stomach pumped. All good.
Little heads up, it’s always a good idea to Google “Is ‘insert food here’ safe for dogs to eat” if you dog ingests anything you’re not sure of. Better to be safe than sorry! Pleased Rocket is alright!

Just happened to my dog today. The vets were not as good as you, but they made him throw up and sent him home with me. They didnt tell me how much he threw up, but Its been 7 hours and he's doing good.
I have a dog named Rocket, and yes he is exactly like this dog. Our wood table has been chewed, he's eaten whole tennis balls, chicken bones, chocolate, ibuprofen, almost everything that is toxic to dogs :l I've had him ever since they (Him and his sister) were puppies. and as I'm writing this his sister is having a dream lol. But our dogs are huskies (Which explains a lot) They've even eaten a bible 😂 Im so happy that this dog is better!
Think next time before making bread Although most of the alcohol in the dough is lost during the baking process, some is evidently retained in the matrix of the bread. The actual amount is very low in the context of the alcohol content of alcoholic beverages, however.
$700 kennel fee so the vet can look at him in the morning lol but I bet that dog is going to think twice before snagging food. He probably though he was thrown out and abandoned lol
Even on the best diet with all the treats in the world, they’re still going to be dogs. They’re still going to be curious about everything and want to eat things they shouldn’t, especially when they’re young.

Sounds like a muzzle and/or kennel would have been cheaper & easier all the way around. That and lots of exercise... He's only feeling guilty til the next batch of dough comes along...
A muzzle? All the time? A Kennel that the dog is forced to be in? Dough takes hours to rise, you expect the owners to lock the dog up for hours at a time? Thats a terrible and cruel idea!
The dog doesn’t need a muzzle or to be locked in a kennel during the day. Dough needs to be put up higher and he needs toys with a purpose like a Kong that he has to work to get the treat out. That plus longer walks and a tidier house should help him stop eating things he shouldn’t.
No muzzle or kennel. However excercising him more might be smart. Border Collies are known to get destructive when bored and he’s quite young so full of energy.
