Couple thoughts. Be aware that symptoms of vitamin d toxicity are the same as k2/ magnesium deficiency.
    Also, 1 IU of vitamin D = .025 micrograms.

I am trying to cut back on Coffee too so I am now trying out Chai Tea and Match Tea. These are lower in Caffeine but it still gives me the Wake up & lift.

Vit. D 3. yes. agree. Today I purchased ACV. by Bragg. It is the real deal. So there it is on the counter right next to Curcumin, we are gonna feel sooooo much better. The dogs AND me.

Hey Doc, thank you for your videos. I have both a cat and dog and your videos are a life saver for me. Can you please share how much salmon a 60-70 pound dog can have and did you cook that or give it to your dog raw?
Thank you again. God bless you and your work

My dog is a 17y ridgeback just sleeps or walks in laps across the bed stepping on us around the house and back in, walks with a bad lean. And passes out if he gets to hot the vet said he can't do anything cuz he's too old, he's teeth are really bad, 11ppl in my house no one wants to deal with putting him down ? I'm at a loss when to call it.

I've always heard Salmon has much D3, glad to hear it from you. I give my 7 lb dog Sock-eye Salmon b/c this is high in Omega-3 Fatty Acid.

Krill oil is also a good source of Omega3 and better option when it comes to bioavailability; less toxin exposure too.

Heeya, excess calcification can be due to a lack of vitamin K, cause it works really strongly together with D, at least in humans :). Interesting to look into!

Dr Jones what concentration of liquid D3 drops do you recommend for my 14 pound dachshund? I have my own RX D3 5000 IU, once per week, could I just cut a 1/4 or 1/8 or whatever dosage you recommend and give him a tiny bit once a week to jump start him? They helped me better and quicker than over the counter once after the first dose. I was in a lot of pain and it took away the pain immediately and my dog is the same way now so I was wondering if I should do the same once a week dose or order the liquid. If you recommend the liquid, any brand that you personally like/recommend? My dog has gastroenteritis and takes cobalamin tablets once a day and I really would like to start giving him vitamin D3. Thank you for your wonderful educational videos. I read so much to learn new things online but the information out there is so limited. I always have to look for your videos on RUclips and each video of yours that I watch, I come out learning so many new things that I start spreading my new gained knowledge from Dr. Jones the rest of that week to everyone i comes across and talk to :) Thanks again

Thanks Emma. Here is the safest suggestions..Vitamin D Food Sources
If you’re interested in supplying natural vitamin D, it makes sense to look for foods that provide it, but finding them may not be easy.
Salmon is widely described as a significant source of vitamin D, but in 2007 the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology published an evaluation of the vitamin D content in fish. It found that salmon flesh does contain vitamin D, but farmed salmon - which is far more common and less expensive than wild salmon - had only 25 percent of the vitamin D of wild salmon.
The report explained, “It has been assumed that fish, especially oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, and blue fish are excellent sources of vitamin D3. However, our analysis of the vitamin D content in a variety of fish species that were thought to contain an adequate amount of vitamin D did not have an amount of vitamin D that is listed in food charts. There needs to be a re-evaluation of the vitamin D content in foods that have been traditionally recommended as good sources of naturally occurring vitamin D.”
Salmon oil may provide some vitamin D along with the fatty acids for which it is famous. In the Tufts study mentioned above, dogs receiving salmon oil as a supplement had higher serum 25(OH)D (on average a 19.6 ng/mL increase) than those not receiving a supplement, but other forms of fish oil surprisingly had no effect.
Dairy products are not naturally high in vitamin D, but milk and yogurt are often fortified with synthetic vitamin D. Check labels to be sure.
Cod liver oil is the traditional food source of vitamin D. A hundred years ago, fermented cod liver oil, which can have a powerfully fishy smell, was the world’s most widely prescribed nutritional supplement. Perhaps your grandparents remember being coerced into swallowing a spoonful daily. Cod liver oil contains vitamins D and A, both of which are essential for human and canine health. But cod liver oil’s manufacturing methods have changed, and so has its vitamin content.
Fully cleaned and deodorized (e.g., molecularly distilled) cod liver oil to which nothing has been added contains very low levels of vitamin A and little or no vitamin D. Some manufacturers add synthetic or natural vitamins A and D to their cleaned and deodorized oil.
To compare brands, read labels - especially their vitamin A and D content - and check product literature or websites for information about manufacturing methods and the source of any added vitamins A and D. Vitamins A and D are measured in International Units (IUs). The vitamin A content of natural (unprocessed) cod liver oil is usually two to 10 times that of its vitamin D.
To make cod liver oil more palatable to humans, some brands are available in lemon, orange, cinnamon, mint, or other flavors. Most dogs enjoy the plain, unflavored oil.

Dr. Jones, I feed my dog a homemade raw diet which includes beef liver and occasionally chicken liver. Is this an adequate source of vitamin D without having to supplement? Thanks!

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural 6 лет назад +1

I feed ground meat; lean beef, turkey and occasionally chicken. Along with liver, raw eggs, hemp seed oil, ground ginger, kelp powder, ground egg shells, sardines and a few minced veggies, (broccoli, spinach/kale, red bell peppers). I found the recipe on Rodney Habib's channel, it was formulated by Dr. Karen Becker. My dog loves and inhales it! He also gets a few supplements; salmon oil, flaxseed oil, milk thistle and a probiotic. I would love to also feed lamb but where I live it's just too expensive at $15.-20.00 per lb. I tried to give him RMB's but he won't touch them, even if I coat them in chicken broth. :/

Coffee is good, if it's harvested well, without chemicals and pesticides.
Coffee is very medicinal. Can be used as a disinfectant; as well as an emergency coagulation medicine to stop bleeding.
