      @@dimenvic As a Reaper Main, allow me to give you some Reaper advice. To start with, your instinct to use Reaper to counter Snipers is a good one. I do it all the time. However, you are going to have to think like a Reaper Main in order to make it work. What I mean by that is that Reaper is a Hard Committal character. If you're playing Reaper, you have to full commit to the engagement otherwise you won't get much value. And the only way you can Hard Commit is if you know how to manage Reaper's Cooldowns. For example, I Hard Commit because I know I'll have Wraith as an emergency escape. Also, take stock of your team. For another example, if you have a Lifeweaver, you can afford to play more aggressively and commit harder to your engagements because Lifeweaver can pull you out when you get in over your head. Or if you have a Mercy or Moira, they can dive in after you if need be. And your Tank can synergize too. For example, Zarya is kinda meta at the moment so if you have a Zarya, you can Hard Commit knowing Zarya can throw that fat bubble on you to protect you.
      But none of this matters if you don't get the basics down. The first thing you need to know if you're going to play Reaper is that he sucks ass at long range. If you don't get, at least, mid-close range, you may as well be poking them with a dart gun. So you can't be afraid to close that distance. And Reaper is great at that. The leads me to point two and that is that you, if you plan to play Reaper (or any character for that matter, but for Reaper it's vitally important), you need to learn maps inside and out. You need to discover all the angles, where all the health packs are, and, most importantly, where you can and can't teleport to with Shadow Step. Shadow Step is the ability that makes Reaper deadly, contrary to popular belief. Shadow Step can get to places that not a lot of abilities can which allows Reaper to set up assassinations from out of nowhere, especially big fat Blossoms from on high. Also, Shadow Step covers a LOT of ground in the blink of an eye, more than you would think actually. If nothing else, do this one thing. Learn the maps, angles, health pack locations, and teleport locations. This will dramatically improve your Widow gameplay as well because a lot of the angles you can flank and teleport from with Reaper, you can also snipe from with Widow and Widow can get to a lot of the same places Reaper can with her Grapple. And this goes into point three: don't be afraid to bail on a position. This is crucial for Widow and snipers in general, but also holds true for Reaper. If your position is compromised, run away and find another path or come back to this one later when the enemy positions have shifted. Translated for Widow and snipers, this means don't stay in one place too long. After you've taken three or so shots, regardless if you've gotten a kill or not, it's time to go. The longer you stay in one place, the more likely it is the enemy is going to just pick you off.
      Always remember that Reaper is an assassin and works the best when played as such. You want to flank and dive with him. Use Shadow Step to wreck the enemy backline or take out snipers. And Blossom from above whenever possible. Blossom, contrary to popular belief, is a spherical ult, not a field ult, so it will hit every enemy below you as you drop on them. If you plan to do a frontal engage for Blossom, there are only 3 ways to do it, as far as I'm concerned: 1) Symmetra TP, 2) Walk in behind your Tank with the rest of your team, and 3) Shadow Step (be careful with this one). Whatever you do, NEVER Wraith Engage if you're doing a frontal engage looking for ult. If you want to Wraith Engage, do it from above or behind. I wouldn't even Wraith Engage from a Side Flank, to be honest, but behind can work. The ONLY time I would ever Wraith Frontal Engage is if I'm in Overtime and I have to touch the point.
      The one thing to remember about Reaper, though, is that you can't be afraid when playing him. I wasn't kidding when I said that Reaper is a Hard Commit DPS. You can't be afraid to go all in every time with him. You can't be afraid to fail with him either. That's how you learn. Reaper is all about getting in your face and leaving as the only one a live. As such, you can't be afraid to get in the enemy's face with him. Just know that you will over-commit with Reaper quite a bit until you learn his and your own limitations for commitment.
      And here's a little free friendly tip for dealing with other snipers if Reaper isn't your cup of tea: Go Sombra. Just stealth your way up to the enemy sniper, hack, and delete. But, honestly, I think you should learn Reaper. You weren't terrible and you had the right ideas with him. You just lacked the commitment and the refinement; it seemed like you were too scared to execute your ideas. Reaper and Widow are two very different mindsets when it comes to how they function, but I think you have the ability to learn and effectively use both. Good Luck Out There!

      "The overwatch handbook of how to be an prick in team chat" (you would likely have already received your copy, no doubt. It's free for everyone with at least 3 hours on dps) clearly states that "it is always the supports fault, even when it seems to be your own failings". Nobody can argue with that one.

      @@Handles_AreStupid Supports are quite literally the highest impact role in the game. Where's Tanks ability to heal their team, or grant immortality frames? • @Handles_AreStupid

      @@joto5459 The immunity frames for tank would be a zarya bubble (which also cleanses status effects). I would argue that tanks are probably the most impactful role in the game right now. If you have a tank that won't walk in, it doesn't matter if you have an ana with 100% weapon accuracy healbotting you, you will lose. Healers can't force the enemy team to evacuate areas, push them back, trap them in place or pull them out of position.

    I certainly embody the 'sometimes its 6 shots 1 kill' widow line. Hahaha.
    It was very fun to see you react to this game I had! I dont often have such unpredictable outcomes (or such longer games), so I'm happy you watched it! It was certainly an overwatch 2 game i played dps in.
    I do see that I'm definitely impatient as widow which i never noticed before, but it does make sense as I am an Ana main and that usually comes with babysitting my own team on top of watching out for the other team. I guess I feel like I'm just not doing enough and then shift my attention to something I shouldn't, oops. With queue times for dps shorter than my Support queue times I guess I'll try to steadily improove. Got to gold 1 recently mainly as Ashe so maybe I'l crack the plat rank eventually.

    • @andrewright4370
      @andrewright4370 7 месяцев назад +2

      Not bad as an ana main.
      A few tips: you always want to get rid of any potential thets first, that is snipers and flankers. widow, hanzo, ashe, genji - thats your priority, if enemy's widow is still alive, dont go for other targets until you killed her, same for others.
      If enemy's tank is aggressive and going after you all the time, stay more in a backline of your team, let them deal with it, while you help them from afar.
      And dont be afraid to swap from widow if things going bad for you. For example Ashe is a sniper too but she can work in many situations where widow struggles

    Meanwhile on mei they got lots of great value by enabling the rein and disabling the enemy team.

    That person has no business picking so many heroes because it's pretty clear they didn't know most of them. Their movement was pretty good but positioning and game sense was off on reaper+widow. Sym was too short but it looked rough all around. Tracer and mei were both great though. Tracer wasn't godly, but it provided ample value to the team, and those mei walls were absolutely brutal. They need to just figure out their hero pool and they'll be awesome
