Everybody knows that pizza's in the 5's. Can we even trust Dave's integrity anymore?
No. He’s gone soft since the barstool fund. A sham of a scoring system. Someone would have to serve him shit on toast/be Lebron to get in to the sixes.
Literally can’t. He got too famous. The score can have a big impact on the business. Negative or positive.
I was telling myself if he has any real integrity left he’ll say 6.9 and that’s being nice.

They should be pissed at themselves for their lack of consistency. Doesn’t do me any good that they can make an 8.1 when if I’m not Dave Portnoy they’ll give me a 7.7.

Honestly that looked like a 5.9 based on being under-cooked. Maybe if they re-did and gave a crispy pie 7.1 but that was generous of Dave.

It is literally the easiest job ever lol. Barely any editing. Film a sign, put music over, possibly one cut to them talking inside.

End of night, 6 pizza reviews, ate way to much pizza on way to this one and was glad to call it a night and was being very generous, this was a 6 something at best under Dave's standards, meaning it had none of the standards he likes. And place looked like it had it delivered to them first then gave to Dave.
I live in NJ. Yeah, it was floppy but they can still make good dough and sauce and use good cheese. Not necessarily a bad pizza.

After this long, I’m usually within + or - .3 of Dave’s score by watching him eat the pie. I had this at a low 6 at best.

@@davidmckesey7119 I go to both regularly - Chitch's is slighly better. Both in the 8's. Dave got a pie 10 mins after they closed. Not really a good representation. Chitch's is very crispy when fresh.

Hey everyone, I'm actually a Dave Portney facial recognition expert (I've done coke with him believe it or not) and based on his reaction that's actually a 6.6 pizza, the nice ladies saved it, everybody knows the rules.

Growing up near that area we would drive past 20+ pizza spots just to got Stan’s Chitchis’s pizza. I even met Stan a few times before he passed. It was way better than 7.1 back then I don’t know what happened.

Manville Pizzeria is the best in the state. It's wild Dave didn't go there, he completely circled it.

Nice guy Dapeortnoy new scoring system:
7.1-7.3 = trash garbage
7.4-7.6 = average pizza
7.7-7.9 = good pizza
8.1-8.3 = really good pizza
8.5-9+ = scores reserved only for places that are already well known that everyone already says have the best pizza so that Dape looks like he agrees with them and is a “real pizza expert”

That pie there is at best a 6.7/6.8. Maybe it due to them trying to close early and/or y’all staying at the place before, for like 20 minutes. Two more minutes in the oven regardless, puts this in mid to high 7s on Dave’s scale.

In their defense Stan Chiches usually makes much better pies than that - you can tell they rushed it out for him. They're consistently in the high 7s when it cooks proper.

Stan's Chitch's is a 6 at best. I had the misfortune of living in Bound Brook for a bit and went here several times. Fed's and Kinchley's are both far superior bar pizza options in NJ, and I went to Kinchley's regularly when I lived in Ramsey. Probably was one of the only good things about living in Ramsey; that and Bagel Boys in Suffern. Best bagels in the NYC area and I'll end the lineage of anyone who says otherwise. That being said, the best pizza around Bound Brook is absolutely Ferrero's in Middlesex. The plain pie there is always perfectly crisp with mozzerella chunks rather than shredded. Great crust, always overlooked but deserves a top 20 spot for NJ. The worst pizza I've had, in my entire life (of which I spent 8 years in New Hampshire so I've had BAD pizza) is Loradella's in Jersey City. Overly doughy yet somehow cardboard-like, pitiful sauce and a layer of rubbery cheese 10mm thick. It's a flavorless, soppy mess and doesn't deserve to exist in such a great pizza city and great pizza region. When I moved to Newport I was pumped to have a pizza place across the street and I've never been so disappointed in my life.
I was there yesterday and it was super crispy. Definitely a low-mid 8 pie. Gotta go back when they aren't closed - that doesn't seem like a fair way to judge. I go to Prima too, and prefer Chitch's slightly - better sauce.
The time you go there shouldn't matter a pie should be consistent no matter what.

He shows up at this place after they had been closed for 15 mins. They didn't get a do-over. How about consistency in the rules? He really should go back. This place is an easy 8 during business hours.

I went here all the time since I was a kid it was, by far, my favorite pizza - especially the sausage. This place got hit by several floods and they had to replace everything. Then a few years ago the family had a disagreement, lost the original recipe, and the pizza was never as good.

THAT AIN'T A 7.1 PIE - no way -- those slices flopped more then Manu Ginobili -- and zero crisp and you just know they do not use GRANDE cheese or a sauce made with imported Italian tomatoes -- that pie is in the 5's -

This place was hyped up but the pizza looks kinda lousy.
Hey Dave, you should come and try Andiamo wood fired pizza in Brookfield, CT. And Caminuccios pizza in Newtown CT. In my opinion two of the best in the area.
