I live in Los Angeles but grew up in Stoughton/Randolph. I've eaten both pizzas and always thought Lynwood was a tad better. My last visit to Boston I hit them both up and still like Lynwood better. I wanted to show off to my Cali friends and got Town Spa to deliver me "four" pepperoni pizzas here in LA. Cost me $75 dollars, vacuum packed and shipped in dry ice. My friends were all impressed. (Lywood doesn't deliver outside their zip code - But they did tell me that they were working on it. - guess they musta found out that Town Spa Pizza is doing it) Going to find out if Monte's on the North Shore delivers x-country. I've never tried it and want to see for myself if it's really cracked up to better than Lynwood and Town Spa.
J C Wrong. People have the right to have the food that they're buying to be prepared the way they want it to. How is that even disrespectful in your mind I'm genuinely curious.
@@akninety6 Me: I want a pizza with Tabasco sauce on it. The customer's always right, and that's how I like it prepared. Store: We don't do that, but we can put it on for you if you like. (Gets Pizza, and does review) Me: The Tabasco sauce to cheese and sauce ratio was off. It was almost like they didn't know what they were doing.
Green Kirby Apples and oranges buddy. You can't compare having your pizza well done to getting Tabasco sauce on your pizza. Just doesn't really make sense to compare the two. Asking for a pizza well done which is something any pizza place in America is/should be familiar with being asked to do, is a little different than asking for them to put Tabasco sauce on your pizza which is something that a lot of pizza places don't even carry in the first place. Don't take what I said out of context you know what I meant. If someone just asks for Tabasco on their pizza without specifying how much they want on it, then that's their own fault if they didn't like the 'ratio'. It's a pizza maker making your pizza, not a mind reader.
Just watched the Town Spa review and now this one. These were so long ago. Funny thing, the original Town spa used to wrap their to go pizzas the exact same way.
I grew up 5 minutes from Lynnwood Cafe and still live 20 minutes away. We get pizza there just about every week. It's the best of the best. And you're right, that bean special is amazing!
@@Trashmouth75 Never been to Monte’s No need to go to that neck of the woods But my wife and I agree with you on those three Wife grew up on Linwoods I grew up on cafe Venice in south Norwood Peace out ✌🏻
Just goes to show money makes you look better. Dude looks older and is a lot heavier here. Good on you Dave. One hugely profitable company everyone knows the rules.
What pizza do you consider the #10?personally all pizza styles are different so its hard to nail down the best pizza because you know there are so many good pizza's it depends on your personal opinion ! End of story ! TO EACH IS OWN!🤗
I believe he said there is no ten, because for every "best" pizza you ever ate, there's the possibility that a better one may come by. With regards to Dave's scoring, his baseline for excellence is the original thin style pizza that originated from immigrants in the New England area, which means NY, New Haven, New Jersey, areas of Boston etc. He's not alone. When nationwide reviewers pick the best pizza, they generally defer to the thin crust NY, New Haven style. Pepe's of New Haven is often ranked #1 in the U.S. (even though locals know Modern and Sally's is better in New Haven).
Rookie Score, before he ate the crust, getting coached by the cameraman, No Body Knows the Rules, and I'm the Damn Rookie I have only been a fan for a year, these are classics.....
Been a fan of this guy. 8 is a high score for him. Getting this pizza well done is his forst mistake. Second is getting regular cheese when chopped linguica is the best. Town spa has fallen off over the years. Lynwoods is great.
Agree with you about Town Spa. I’d go a step further and say it is inedible. Growing up in Randolph, both Lynwood and the OLD Town Spa were both very good although I’d always give the nod to Lynwood. That said, I can’t even eat Town Spa now.
If you order a Lynwoods pizza cooked the way you want it then you get a Dave's pizza at lynwoods. Not a Lynwoods cooked the way their grandpa wanted it to taste.
Lynn, Lynn; city of sin.... But Randolph is the home of Hockey Hall of Famer Rod Langway. I found out about Lynwood Cafe from my next door neighbor in Southie when we told him we were selling our place and buying in Randolph. "Wicked awesome! You'll be minutes away from Lynwood!" And we were maybe 2 miles away. Never went to Monte's, because we'd drive through Lynn (as fast as we could) on our way to Marblehead or Rockport. Now I'm in Denver: The Home of NO GOOD PIZZA. Wah!
Fat Dave was really a look. If Fat Dave ever even tried to walk up to Silvana and initiate a conversation, she would call the police so fast his head would spin. Wouldn’t even know what hit him. Amazing what $100m can do.
Hey, I’m not being hypercritical, even though I’m biased about Lynwood Cafe. Because it’s the first place my father would take me with him to go pick up the pizza on Friday nights. It’s always a couple hours wait but we’d be there early to belly up to the bar. Anyway, that said. When you asked for the pizza well done? You should have asked for Laced Edges! Big difference my friend! Consider yourself in the know, now.😎
This is the same guy that thinks he's eating a McDonald's burger and it's a Wendy's Burger in another video. Anybody that can't tell the difference in a taste test should not be reviewing great pizza especially like Lynwood's.
My dude Dave Portnoy was chubby back in the day! This is the OG Dave back in the Boston days! This is the original wow this is the best! He was such a rookie back then and I love it!
Lynwood's pizza was what I grew up on, in the 90s through the 2000's, though I haven't been there since about 2004. While I was growing up, this was the best bar pizza in the South Shore.. I did hear that nowadays its still great but, not as good as back then... PS I feel this douche is biased lol
Sorry Dave, you have weird taste in pizza if that's your call. No way. I've had Monte's, Lynwood and Town Spa. And Lynwood is king of the pizza mountain. There's a reason it's an hour wait for a pizza at Lynwood on a weekend night and people talk about Lynwood with legendary reverence - they're the best, hands down.
Dude either your related to someone at montes or your from the north shore but can you say "No Flavor Frozen Elio's Pizza." Just left Montes and was highly disappointed by the lack of flavor from the pizza to the salad dressing to the chicken parmesan. Chicken parmesan tasted like the deli aisle Perdue cutlets fried and drowned in tasteless sauce. The pasta was over done and watery. The salad dressing tasted like it was ginger oil and sugar. My kid could've made a better dressing using condiments in my fridge. Lynwood all day everyday! At least at Lynwood it has flavor regardless if it was previously frozen or made to order. Oh and btw close your mouth while you chew sounded like a an animal eating.
Dave should revisit the first 100 spots. He clearly got better as a pizza judge as time went by.
John-Del He should update every five years.
This place is litterily #1 in the south shore area they still use the old school ovens unlike town spa that uses a conveyer
Fr. He def needs to do cape cod cafe town spa and lynnwoods again
But who made him the judge? He's just an idiot who eats pizza on camera and people blindly follow him and listens to what he says...
Never said the magic words.
