This is the cheeki breekiest episode ever! The Groza-4 in OTs-14-4A-04 configuration (grenadier configuration as seen in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.), 9x39mm over 40mm, is also known as the Groza-9/40. GSC Game World, through S.T.A.L.K.E.R., increased interest in 5.45 and 9x39 firearms in the West. Also, Skinflint totally looks like early 2000s Max Popenker. 9:57 AP, aka BP, which I think is sometimes called "black-tip" (or "black-stripe" or something to that effect), is also designated SP-6. It's the overall best ammo type to use against Monolith heavy troopers wearing exoskeletons. 13:39 Didn't realize PAB-9 was so structurally similar to SP-6. 14:25 Interestingly, the original unmodded S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl taught me exactly that! I typically used SP-5 in the Vintorez and SP-6 in the Val and the Groza. 19:17 I never did the endgame of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl without a Groza. There's also the Paranoia mod for the original Half-Life which features the Groza-1 (7.62x39) in OTs-14-1A-03 configuration (suppressor and scope). 21:19 So in other words, if you need a grenade launcher, it's better to mount a GP-30 or GP-34 on an AK-74 or AK-103.
I always fiddle around in the file directory with the ltx files so I can take off / put on the PSO scope on the Vintorez In Stalker, never liked that you couldn't take it on and off at will. Also means you can use the VSS as an assault rifle if you have to. Instead of having to carry the VAL along with it, only downside is finding a scope for the VSS separately. Both the VAL and VSS (at least in COP) aren't zeroed to their world model's iron sights very well. So they shoot high left no matter if you're firing in full auto or semi. Its especially bad when you have them upgraded for max accuracy, a stream of tracers fly out a few pixels left of the barrel. There's also a texture issue I've never seen anyone fix, where a small space on the charging handle for the VSS/VAL rifles isn't textured, so there's this transparent gap through it, once you notice it you can never unsee it. Call of Pripyat has a 5.45 Groza which is one of a kind in the game, (you can only buy it from one trader, nimble.) But the devs forgot to give it "5.45 damage." So the 5.45 Groza does 9x39mm damage in the game. If you check around online it's one of the rifles people recommend in Late-Game play for being the highest damage 5.45x39mm gun in the game. And Max was right, only reason people know the Groza is videogames, lol.

@@Pdro-gw7lu I think it will be painful for some beginners trying to make some money, but I mean there is still the option of playing as a SCAV so the gamma container is not as useful in the end. It is when it comes to putting meds, ammo and keys without risking losing those items. Honestly I think they should make it that the gamma container should only be able to accept those items, because having the risk of losing keys is quite meh imo. Meds and ammo is more acceptable on the other hand. Just the keys, don't touch that otherwise it will make exploration a bit useless which is a problem for the overall game experience. And also some exit points that require keys. If the devs really want to remove the gamma container on the long term, I feel that they should replace this EOD edition bonus with something else that matters like a free stash container/case or I don't know.

Thanks for great story. I have 366 TKM AK-103. For 100 meters it shoots like 7,62. For 200 m and more you need to put the sight significantly higher than normal AK. Effective range of 366 TKM is not more 300 m. For hunting and defense purposes it’s good caliber. Interesting that the recoil feels much higher than the normal 7,62x39. With the 13 grams bullets it’s even hurts your shoulder.

@@ldsmmsh yep, but the thing with this gun, is that it's a different cartridge, different barrel (not only unsuppressed, but twice longer according to what I read), different bolt-locking system and different action overall. Different receiver and even its cover and scope mounting rails are different. It's Vintorez in the same sense as an airsoft gun is a real gun. Same shape, different insides.

Yayo' Ariowibowo Not much sense tho. Converting 9x39mm weapon to 5.54x39mm you need to change at least bolt, mag and barrel. That's like almost all the important parts of a gun.
@@XtreeM_FaiL I think they covered that though, one of the metro tunnels goes right under an arms factory which was in full production of 5.45 barrels/ mags / bolts basically the tooling for everything they need and ammunition manufacturing as well, I believe it's under Hanza control but I could be wrong. 9mm ammo would definitely be in short supply compared to 5.45 though
These would be the real things the games copied and typically renamed. Metro's "VSV" in particular is a VSK 94 (seen at 26:38) rechambered for 5.45mm and given a different name.
I am thinking run this cartridge in an SKS with about 21 or 22 gr. of IMR 4198 behind a 165 gr. JSP with a 1:14 or 1:16 bbl twist rate and it should be a good competitor for a .35 Remington from a Model 81 as a hunting rifle.

No chance, the M2 is not a Forgotten Weapon. Now the towed, quad mount M3 water cooled anti-aircraft variant of the caliber fifty I've only seen in the Air Defense Artillery Museum at Fort Bliss, that's a Forgotten Weapon.
@@janwacawik7432 True, they still exist. Kind of difficult/pricey to get hands on either in my neighborhood, and while that is very true also of the Browning M2, it is still being manufactured and is current issue in militaries around the world. So the VSS and VAL are near identical weapons, but the VSS was designed primarily as a suppressed sniper rifle and the VAL as a suppressed assault rifle. I had wondered why they had different names, since they seemed to be the same gun, but that clears it up for me.
It’s VSS (vintovka snayperskaya spetsialnaya/special sniping rifle) and AS (avtomat specialniy/special automatic rifle). Vintorez and Val is just weird nicknames to confuse potential enemies. Val means “shaft” in english. Vintorez is more tricky word to translate, but it means something like “screw cutter”.
For a few pictures you can google 9A91 Syria. They were delivered to the Republican Guard there along with the VSK-94. Seems like having one is quite a status symbol there.
I love this interview. It's so good to have someone with a different perspective talking, because sometimes the gun community is just so boring and repetitive.

I did read somewhere, years ago, that one or more STALKER npc portaits are modeled on the people who ran the websites where they go their information. This was back in the early 2000s, so there were fewer websites.
Now you can purchase a civilian version of VSS, it is produced by Molot for two calibers, 7.62 * 39 and 9 * 39. One difference from the combat one, according to Russian law, the rifle muffler is not working, it just has an elongated barrel, but an outwardly exact copy of the VSS.

@@sionsoschwalts2762 There was no Russian invasion. Because there was a NATO invasion of Ukraine by a coup d'etat in February 2014, followed by the establishment of a puppet regime in Kiev subordinate to NATO (subordinate to Washington and London). This puppet government under the control of NATO in Ukraine in 2014 began a bloody terror against Ukrainians and regions of Ukraine who refused to obey the puppet regime of NATO in Kiev, which was the beginning of this war, which has been going on for 9 years since 2014. Russia intervened in 2022 to help the rebellious regions of Ukraine get rid of the occupation regime NATO in Ukraine... This is an explanation from a citizen of Ukraine from the territory of the eastern regions of Ukraine, which failed to occupy NATO forces in 2014. This is an explanation from a citizen of Ukraine about 9 years of lies spread by the NATO media about the events in Ukraine.
@rodjarrow6575 If NATO was in control of Ukraine since 2014 why is Ukraine not a member state and protected by NATO? This does not make sense. I'd also like some sort of sources for evidence of a coup d'etat. It would be pointless having a territory and not protecting it. I'd also have to argue that since a coup d'etat means a replacement of government then taking territory from the new government is still an invasion even if you consider them illegitimate. Also it doesn't matter if you want to call it an invasion or not, my comment said military special operations which is exactly what Putin himself is calling it.
@@sionsoschwalts2762 About the difference between the legal concepts of Law and Lawlessness: 1) A coup d'etat in any country of the world, committed with money and forces from abroad, is lawlessness! This is an invasion of a sovereign power! This is an occupation that has nothing to do with the concept of Law and the Constitution! Therefore, the power of the impostors, who in Ukraine are controlled by external NATO forces from abroad (from Washington and London), will eventually be expelled from the old analogous to the expulsion from Afghanistan... 2) The fact that for 9 years you had no idea about the NATO coup d'etat in Ukraine in February 2014 indicates the total lies of the media in NATO countries, which are subordinate to Washington and London. However, everyone who wants to search for the truth will easily find on the web the facts of the bloody coup d'etat in Ukraine 9 years ago in February 2014. 3) The same thing, the fact that for 9 years you had no idea about the beginning of this war in Ukraine, not in February 2022, but in February 2014 - the war unleashed by Washington's special services in Kiev and other cities of Ukraine, starting with mass sniper citizens of Ukraine and police officers of Ukraine, with a gradual transition to the use of heavy army weapons (artillery, tanks, bomber aircraft) against the garods of Ukraine, who refused to obey the NATO occupation authorities in Kiev - indicates the total lies of the media in NATO countries that are subordinate to Washington and London. 4) Therefore, being a regular viewer of the NATO media, it is obvious that you also have no idea about the bombing of 9 consecutive years in the very center of Europe, in Ukraine in the Donbas, since 2014 (similar to the recent bombing by Israeli forces on the civilian population of Palestinian Gaza in 2023). With Biden's blessing back in 2014 daily bombardments by artillery, missiles and aircraft for 9 years in a row on the civilian population of cities and villages of Eastern Ukraine in the Donbas (since 2014), bombing as punishment - for the persistence with which the Ukrainians of Donbass did not let NATO impostors into their territory. 5) Do you need proof? However, in the network: Whoever is looking for will always find it since 2014...! Including the fact of the crime of the NATO special services in Ukraine, which is the burning alive, after the use of live gases against the protesting 40 residents of the Ukrainian city of Odessa on May 2, 2014, who peacefully protested against the coup d'etat and the subsequent NATO occupation of Ukraine. This monstrous crime of medieval times, committed in the very center of (supposedly civilized) Europe in 2014 in the city of Odessa, occurred after Biden's visit to Ukraine and his "blessing" to his puppets, who seized power in Ukraine as a result of the coup d'etat. All these facts of the bloody crimes of the NATO special services in Ukraine since 2014 are online! Whoever has the desire to seek the truth will surely find the truth!

@@xmm-cf5eg I actually read about it on his Modern Firearms and Ammunition site even before S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl came out. As for being able to add and remove a scope, that's what I like about the SVD in the Oblivion Lost 2010 mod.

*Note:* The 5.45 Groza is also in ShoC. It's used by the Dutyer known as Barin who usually hangs around the camp outside the Desolated Village in Army Warehouses. Its real-world counterpart would have been known as the Groza-2 had it gone into production. There were also plans for a Groza-3 in 5.56. The Groza-1 is 7.62x39 and the Groza-4 is 9x39 and I think those are the only calibers they made it in.
I knew of the Groza 1 and 4, I think the Groza 1's more "popular" in practice.

Yeah, these weird things exist only because of harsh restrictions and people doing all kinds of tricks to get around them.
It's not only .366.

Kristian Herdi I scrolled down expecting to see STALKER and EFT posts. I was not disappointed lol. Getting anxious for 0.12, what do u think of the whole “no putting stuff in gamma container” thing they’re gonna try during the pre-wipe events?
Jensen I kinda like the idea personally. I think a better idea is restricting the types of stuff to what you have said, like statues, Bitcoin, cash, keys etc. I think the guys running a mag case out of them and shit is taking the piss. The case needs to stay as a concept I believe but needs to be restricted a little.
I think adding a hardcore mode with a seperate PMC would be a more interesting experiment to try as well.

I googled VSS and tried to learn and watch videos about it and I couldn’t find hardly no information and all the pictures where from video games so to learn about it was really cool and was so interested by this video good job max I hope you read this and good job forgotten weapons for thinking of this topic. A real VSS would be the first firearm I would acquire if I hit the lottery. Personally I think nothing tops a VSS what’s cooler and sexier than a VSS
