Unless your looking to get that one part for a weapon upgrade. Happened to me when I was looking to upgrade my dual blades and it had question marks for ingredients. Searched it up online, saw Lavisioth parts, and thought "I had completely forgotten that this thing existed."
I think ingame records show that the muddy cousin is actually the less hunted version. Out of all the monsters in the game, Jyara was the last place. Lavasioth probably gets hunted only due to the decoration event quest he's featured in.

ok i do not see why people like agnaktor i fought it in three ultimate and it was fucking terrible, i used duel blades at the time and it took forever actually hit because it would not stop doing burrow attack after burrow attack. plus when i did manage to hit it the lava went soft making me bounce. and as a side of pure fucking salt every time i knocked it down it would roll off of the land and into the lava, and because i used duel blades i could not hit it and had to watch as it wiggled around out of reach. and it did not even kill me it was just annoying to deal with and i hate it so much!

Because even when the armor is Glowing(Which is the soft part) it can be a little hard, also Agnaktor Fin is accualy the hardest part Maybe it was just badluck :P a lot of people accualy think Agnaktor is probably the ONLY best Monster that you fight at the Volcano area Okay other than Brachydios, Akantor, and Alatreon
Water is not the element you want to use on the boss. You'll just harden the skin every single time and making you deal pitiful amount of damage. You need to pick fire. Why? You soften his armor with each hit making you deal full normal damage. The only other "Element" you want to use is explosive which you can use from Gunlances where you explode the shell. You'll bypass his armor and will deal about 60 to 64 damage per hit.
@@ashlynx1 Maybe your Switch axe won't bounce but if his skin is hardened the entire time you'll deal pathetic damage. Fire weapons makes sure you'll bring out his soft skin and actually deal good damage. That is why you bring a Fire weapon. To soften his skin to deal normal damage.

@@Zefar77 so idk where you got your shitty information from.... but at no point in the fight is he resistant to water damage and it's really not hard to keep him softened, theres torch pods literally all around his areas, shoot one on the ground and boom no problems at all, hell shoot it at his face if you want it does the same thing and if you're in melee range he tends to dive alot which also softens him, his main lava blast also softens him so no fire is not worth using at all since you'll be doing "pathetic damage" for the majority of the fight, if you don't want to take water you may aswell just take RAW since that'd be more useful than fire :/
I have more in common with nergigante to be honest. Really bad temper, personality issues and whenever I try approaching someone to start a conversation, people just run away.
I'm not sure if you know this Gabe, but you can sling screamer pods at him when the Lava fish is burrowed underground and he'll come right up. Same for Jyuratodus and Diablos variants.

Man I was so bored with the quest that I just didn't play it. They may have dropped rarer gems then great chungras. But it was not worth the 15mins of running.
@@theelderscout0314 it looks normal tempered in the quest page but it is significantly more powerful than regular temper (just like the greatest chungrus)
There was no change to the event's lavasioth from the tempered version with the exception that it drops decos and is the best deco farm overall. The problem is that people don't know how to fight it and struggle killing it fast.
Don't sweat dude/dudet Lavasoith's armor and Great Sword make an extremely good counter against it even if you not a pro Great Sword user basics and a good understanding of both weapon and monster makes it easier to hunt it
Ayyyyy, this one was pretty good Gabe, didn't feel a little rushed, good amount of jokes (I liked the beginning joke, since ya never fought the thing often), and overall, felt like ya put some good time into this one. 👌
I only played 3 and up, so I can't fully understand the pain of plesioth in its prime. That said, I hate it all the same and hope to god it's not in iceborne.
Fire is good for reheating the magma armor. Just like back in the day with Agnaktor, striking the cooled magma with fire makes it soft and able to be cut instead of bouncing you away. The element it's does nothing but the raw damage still stands.
The only times I have fought this is: a) saw it in cutscene b) that one event quest where you don't realize its a tempered version of it until its too late
i imagine just him being cool in other games and someone was think of putting in the flying lagi with lightning and acidentally thought hey why not add a mudkip

The boots have spread shot, and since all my friends went bow. He was one of my most fought monsters sub HR100.

Glacial is definitely one of the best subspecies. And Agnaktor is an excellent monster in its own right.

Your best bet is to bring a water switch axe or water hunting hot since switch axes sword mode and HH have natural minds eye and do not bounce

Don't worry, the first time I played I did the same thing. Needed that fire attack for Kirin plus it's got decent thunder resistance.

The most common theory is that Agnaktor was planned at first but they replaced it with Lavasioth when they failed to make the Leviathan skeleton work.

Here is a late tip: have heat guard you can then stand on lava and you won’t need any cold drink however you are not immune to fire
