Kali linux? I know each person has their preferences, but kali has greater range of tools and has way more popularity within the industry. Let me know if I'm under the wrong impression, only been in the industry for 4 years. thank you!

In my experience they look the same. It's just an OS with some built-in tools. In cyber security you want to have as much exposure as you can to different tools.
