Best video ever
Microsoft recently announced that they will be doing the same thing Qubes OS does but within windows. And they will be implementing RUST Language,
to replace most of the microsoft language in the operating system. I still don't trust microsoft and will remain in Linux, but just wanted to give heads up. 🤷♀💀👀
Yeah all of them still scared of volatality
not safe in France... they got arrested for using this and encryption as well as tor and vpn's. I don't know the outcome, but it was talked about on the Linux-experiment channel. so be careful... some governments don't like US privacy tech in their borders... they will think you're guilty before innocent... it ain't like the US.
Hope you have a great day & Safe travels!
i use Qubes every day and i love it. it does take a little while to get used to, but i was coming from windows. might be easier for those already more familiar with linux systems. it's really not something that is only for advanced users. the nice thing is that you can make as much use of what it offers as you need. personally i am nowhere near taking advantage of the full potential, but i am learning more all the time. it's a very powerful tool with great defaults. i clone the debian template and turn it into kicksecure as my general purpose use Qube.
I would love it if you could make an updated video on mobile privacy and where things stand at the moment. After your video and Louis Rossmann's video on the GrapheneOS drama I just can't trust that as an option anymore. And honestly, I realise how limited the mobile space is for privacy, security, and overall control over your data. I don't think Linux phones are even close to being usable, and I don't really trust any other ROMs since I've heard mixed opinions on all of them. So what are we left with in the end? A video on this would be very useful.
Ditto
There is no such thing as privacy on a phone. Even if you take out the sim card on the phone and turn it off, cell towers can still track you. I would say buy you a Faraday bag then put the phone inside there and drive to an undisclosed location and after you get done doing your work put your phone inside the Faraday bag.
Just use graphene. Dont listen to these people.
@@tacticalcenter8658 But surely you can understand how uneasy I would feel about using an OS that's developed by an unstable, crazy and extremely resentful individual. Even if it is open source, I don't have the time to audit it myself.
*_Man, there aren't many people in my life that I can fully trust (and this includes my family lol)... but I consider you and 'The New Oil channel' are 2 of the most (and are likely THE most) trustworthy sources I've found for online safety, online security, online anonymity, & online privacy. And yes, I love 'The Surveillance Report._*
*I've followed your various install guides (and various bits of valuable advice) & have been VERY happy with the results. And this video is another great & informative one. You guys are awesome. Thanks for your consistent (and near priceless) advice!*
Aw you're gonna make me tear up 😅 Thanks so much for the kind words!! ❤️ (Will make sure Nate gets a screenshot of this too :P)
@@techlore I'm new to the channel and just wanted to say that this has been one of the most informative channels on privacy and security I've come across. it all started from Mental Outlaw explaining chunks and pieces here and there. but here is where I got a much more full picture over everything and started to understand things a lot more.
Qubes is an incredibly secure OS especially when the layered sunboxing compartmentalization system is fully utilized.
These are really nice options. Great to have more options
apparently you shouldn't use any of these in France...
Then don’t get caught using them. Plain and simple. It’s like people in China having to circumvent censorship by using Tor and VPNs. It’s illegal but it’s what they have to do to have any sort of freedom.
Yeah, this was real scary. Hope France isn’t a test-case and “they” will roll it out to other Western countries.
How where they discovered? Bad Opsec?
@@Mr.ChadRodriguez It was not mentioned specifically in that article, but from what I can tell, the defendants in question seemed to have been put on a watch list after visiting Rojava in North Eastern Syria. That started surveillance under the presupposition that upon return they would be essentially "up to no good". Surveillance continued over the course of about 10 months which then led to arrests. Which I think was done only on the basis of them using envcyption and other privacy practices. There doesn't seem to be any other evidence otherwise it would've been mentioned in court case.
France "the flag bearer of human rights"
Love your videos x
Absolute top notch content as always. Thanks @Techlore
Great, I only knew about TAILS. Thanks!
I'm just curious if you have any takes on lavabit since it's been resurrected in 2017. I haven't seen many people talking about since it's original shutdown after the FBI tried to obtain their SSL and encryption keys.
nice video!
when i get myself a new pc i am going to run CubeOS
Definitely report the experience when you do! Some love it, some hate it :P
QubesOS is the future! Most amazing project for sure! 🤘🏻
Parrot OS is another Linux operating system that has a focus on privacy and security, via their "anon surf" feature that funnels everything over TOR network.
You can toggle that feature on and off with ease.
And since the anon surf feature funnels everything through TOR network, you are protected from more than just using your web browser.
❤awesome OS, I will try. BTW, which model of phone in the video?
Thank you good video. Have you done a video on how to secure a Chrombook ?
I know that might sound silly but it's what I have.
Would be awesome to see a video about this for phone os
Is there any way to create an iso of Tails w/ persistence (edit: or even w/o it) that can be booted from Ventoy? Or would one have to create a separate partition on the USB stick? Thank you. ☮
I put the Tails iso into ventoy and it works fine though I'm not sure if it's possible to add persistent storage
Well Done! Thank You! Oohraah!!! 🇺🇸🤠🇺🇸
awesome video!
Thanks a ton! It was a fun one :)
Does a virtual machine require more resources like ram etc to be able to run at its best?
I used one years ago and remember something about allocating resources to the vm. So i think they both run slower while the vm is on but i could be wrong on that.
Im wondering if liveos like tails needs more ram to run good because as i understand it tails runs in ram to stay off the host system
Thanks @@DOOM70670 , you're probably right, but either way, I think I need to upgrade my computer anyway.
which of these can make the ips and ip untraceable ?
Which would you recommend for daily use, which is easiest to use?
tails is non-persistant, meaning everything but the os is erased when it's shut down, and it resets to default effectively. that's not usually ideal for most people's regular use system. more intended for special cases, or to get online privately when away from home, etc. whonix is just for running things through Tor. for some programs, that might not be desirable. i'd say Qubes is the best for daily use. very flexible, and you can use Tor if you want (it includes Whonix), and there are "disposable Qubes" which are non-persistant like Tails. so it's more of an all around solution, that can do what the others do, plus more.
Can you use a VM in tails?
QubesOS FTW
Tales has persistence mode too.
@Khaled not really as you need to sign into it before, depends on what you load onto it.
@@i5khaled5i55 you can do something like add an app that you want to use. that way you don't have to download and install it every time. the user data wouldn't have to be persistant though, so all that would get wiped when you are done. all they would know is someone uses that app, but not who it was, or what they did.
I know qubes and whonix and tails but tails os is my most favorite. I don't usually play or install anything from PC so tails is good
Hell yeah, OS for the paranoids.
👍Thanks.
🙌
Im wondering if you need more ram to run a live os like tails because as i understand it tails runs in ram to stay off the host system.
So if i downloaded a 10g file onto the amnesia folder of tails on a computer with only 8g of ram will i break something? Or how does that work?
i am using kodachi linux, But i will probbly install Kali linux for work and more day to day things. And Windows 11 is Okey for gaming. But I like Pop OS But i hate GNOME i want XFCE on pop os.
I think everyone gets to a point where the word folks doesn't sound right for a second? Is it just me? 😂
They need to boot to a phone 📱 that what is needed 😎
Can you make a similar video for Linux Distributions
All these ARE Linux distributions.
@@anthonyfmoss i meant a video explaining about Debain and other Distros out there
i love your phone it so small which one is it
Is whonix the OS used by Doctor Who. LOL!
yes, the tardis is a Qube ;)
0:12 Tails
2:28 Whonix

5:03 QubesOS
Sir which is most secured and anonymoys sir please reply
in my humble opinion Tails the best in security and anonymous 99.99% but you need to run it in USB
@@mazharmallah-gd2qt
Qubes would be my choice if I didn’t play games. It just seems like it would be a good thing to invest in learning how to use.
just dual boot, only boot into another OS when you're going to play a game and then boot into qubes when you do anything else
@@phillipanselmo8540 Switching back and forth would just be too annoying. A normal Linux distro goes far enough for me, and Flatpak’s sandboxing provides reasonable compartmentalization. Most threats are on the web, and I disable JavaScript by default to disable them. The security upgrade of Qubes just doesn’t seem worth it given where I’m already at.
Yeah, my first question when watching this video was, I wonder if I can set up a Windows 11 VM with GPU passthrough inside Qubes? That'd be much more convenient than dual boot. (but you'd need a secondary GPU or integrated graphics of course)
Whonix looks interesting, but it's designed or virtual machines. Does host OS not have access to guest system? What if it's monitored with spying software like Trellix?
whonix gateway can also be run as the host os (it's based on kicksecure, which is a hardened debian).
yes but tor exit nodes are not encrypted
He got a call from Lester
Woooooooooooooooooo
👏👏👏🎙🛡🎯🚀
Sounds cool and groovy but Tor performance is terrible and unusable most of the time.
The things that make it work also makes it slow... If you want convenience then stick with your spyware..
But you said in a video two years ago that tor network is compromised and not safe to use. 🤔
Anybody use pure os?
is this four os suitable for gaming?😂
I think you are assuming a bit too much amigo. Sometimes a bios change has to be made before a computer will boot from a USB. Can you always do this? No. Try to be a bit more realistic with your statements. You cannot automatically use TAILS on any computer, public or private. Or rateher you might be able to depending if you can redesignate what device to boot from. Not always do-able.
How come you allow comments on your RUclips channel but not on your Odysee channel ?
Click our about page on Odysee to find out. It’s been linked there since they were disabled. (dispatch.techlore.tech/i/116795784/community-updates)
Nah you forgot the holy templeos, which god himself certified to be secure. You don't need to worry about security when you have no networking.
no one talks about openbsd wtf
I will be sure to avoid these
would you be so kind as to elaborate on the reasoning behind that decision? i am legitimately interested to know.
Why? Just why? To some random google and facebook see your personnal data??
WHONIX FTW!!
