Great video, for both experienced and inexperienced users. One comment though:I for one, and several of my peers, almost always use persistence for at least stuff like bookmarks. Why? On the TOR-network website addresses are rarely, if ever, quite as easy to remember as website addresses on the "regular" internet; it is often "mumbo-jumbo", so using persistence for those is basically a life-saver in that regard.
Persistence does theoretically make your distro more vulnerable, where data can be modified or malware added. If you want to just save some files, you can do so with a separate storage drive or something, and you can encrypt that as well.
The vision of tails is anonymity and freedom. Files leave a vulnerability as well as bookmark. Again look at bookmarks like a file. It stores data that can also be vulnerable. I'd say you can grab a pen and write down your favorite site links physically.

DAS, I just wanted to throw this out there; I am learning many new things as technology advances so quickly these days and I am about to set up a Raspberry Pi 400. It seems to be a great yet powerful little tool to learn from and well, build other projects. What are your thoughts about using TailsOS/TOR/IL on this device as it does have a USB port so I just wonder if the unit itself has enough RAM and other hardware to run this OS and not have any issues. Your videos are great and I plan on getting to as many as possible to learn how to get back what little privacy we have these days!
Raspberry Pi devices are amazing and the project possibilities are endless. I don’t think you can run Tails on a Pi as they don’t have an ARM version but you can definitely turn your Pi into a Tor node and/or install Tor browser on it.
Simple question. With Tails, we navigate anonymously, nobody can see our static or dynamic IP address ? Let's say that with my ISP I can download only 10 GB and if I download more, I pay additional fees. So if I use Tails, my ISP won't know if I download 200 GB so that means that I won't have additional costs right ?
Your ISP will know. Your IP has nothing to do with how they monitor your bandwidth usage. The physical local port on the provider's PoP (Point of Presence, probably a network cabinet outside/near your neighborhood) network equipment that serves internet to your home monitors how much traffic is uploaded/downloaded through your customer port. They wont be able to see what you are downloading and from where on tails, but they will certainly be able to see the amount of what you're downloading.
This is my first intro about tails. I am not here illegally yet. I plan to use a large USB and install tails and use the rest for storage then when I shut off and remove my USB ALL info is in my hand. This video is 2 years old. Anymore we should know?
I have a question. When turning on persistence volume it does save all my bookmarks but when I add Bitwarden to the add ons on the Tor browser it never stays. I have to install it everytime. Is there a way to permanently enable it?
I get the feeling internet security isn't going to be a joke in 2023. I wouldn't be surprised if the governments launch full scale cyber wars bricking millions of computers.
