Hah, I ran this on an actual computer back in the day. I even installed it from the free CDs that Canonical used to send out. But I ended up better settling into Fedora Core 3 and didn't start using Ubuntu full time for nearly a decade.

When I first got into using Linux-based desktop OSes in 2008, I started with Ubuntu as I heard about it from a newspaper article I read, but even though I used Ubuntu 8.04, I switched to Kubuntu 8.04 as I preferred KDE over GNOME. I eventually outgrew some of the features Ubuntu had for people who weren't really into Linux, and moved over to Debian with KDE (in part so I could still use some of the tricks I learnt through Ubuntu tutorials).
I love Ubuntu, however gaming on the OS is going to be tricky. Nevertheless, happy 20th birthday to Ubuntu and it's UK 🇬🇧 developer Canonical (2004 - 2024).
