Wow. My primer/starter bourbons are not quite as proofy as yours…Buffalo Trace or Early Times BIB. Belle Meade Reserve is still readily available by me, but I too have 3 bottles on the shelf in case just in case. I picked up both the Frey Ranch Bourbon and Frey Ranch Single Barrel Bourbon store pick, which are very nice! Long pour for me is OGD 114. Found it for $19.99 in Wisconsin last week. I have 4 bottles of it.
Best technique is to start at the rim and raise the bottle smoothly, as if you were drawing a thread out of the glass. It looks impressively graceful, and you'll spill much less.
Enjoyed the video. I think y'all are pretty cool. Going to have to pick up a bottle of the Vantage. Have passed it over several times for other things. Cheers!
I thought just running my own small woodworking business was hard enough when dealing with all the regulations and licenses. I understand being tired and frustrated trying to get thru all that. Focus, see the light at the end of tunnel.
Great video! Here’s my humble selections… Buzzworthy - A proofhound I am not, but I really enjoy the Chattanooga Single Barrel at 117.8 proof. Current Fav - Buffalo Trace (were you expecting anything else haha?) Found Before Everyone Else - Let’s go with John J Bowman. It’s hard to find, but we’ve been lucky. Great bottle. You Have but Your Friends Don’t - Knob Creek 18 Long Pour - Technically, I haven’t tried it, but Knob Creek 9 fits my hand perfectly. 😉
Love your choices and long pours...definitely the video highlight! My choices are...Party Starter: Blue Note 9 Year SiB Reserve; Current Fave: Barrell Batch 031; Hipster: Middle West Spirits 4-Grain Wheated; Unique: Woodford Master's Collection 119.8 Proof; and Long Pour: Knob Creek 9.
If you can get it, try Jack Daniels Heroes Selection Barrel Proof Single Barrel. A total different profile from the regular release. Belle Meade is MGP magic.
I see that ECBP is at the "Mid- E" premium point...savor these next pours...👍Julie coming out the gate hard with that Jack Barrel proof 🥳Great selections...cheers!
Y'all are the coolest whiskey reviewers I know, and apparently also the messiest. Some great choices for your five! I'm definitely going back to pick up another bottle of Vantage.
I stopped by the old 55 distillery, and bought one of their single barrel bourbon’s. It is very tasty. They were very surprised on how well they did in the advent calendar.
I would highly recommend checking out Corbin Cash out of Atwater, CA for a hipster bottle. Very similar situation as Frey ranch, but fantastic ryes. I had a 6yr that was one of the best ryes I've ever had.
It took me forever to find old grand-dad bonded. After checking more than 15 stores I found one this week. And I did not like it. I guess I am not a high rye guy. which probably explains why I don't love 4 roses either.
Frey Ranch! the'yre doing amazing things!
Good people too! We can't wait to go back.

The neck on OGD 114 is absolutely ideal for long pouring.
Belle meade you will be missed
Great list’s! Nice pours!
Great video, love it 😜😋🥃🥃🥃
Cheers!
I chuckled at the water wing comment. Thanks for the video!
The long pour!! 😆 I'm afraid my long pour would miss the glass too
Haha, keep a towel close by.

Couldn’t agree more on Belle Meade Reserve! I’ve found a place that is selling out at $39… buying a few
Heck yeah!

Thank you, sir.
Splendid list. Purely splendid. Keep up the fine work folks.

Indeed
@@TheBourbonVan Thanks, found some in a small town in OR. Cheers

I have only had one Barrell - the Seagrass. I really like it. I want to try all of them. Cheers guys!

If we were including ryes, Middle West Pumpernickel Rye would definitely have been on Phil's list. Cheers!
Just my opinion, forget the glass and pour the Woodinville over the sink.
😆
Will say had a bottle early on in my whiskey journey...haven't gone back down that road 😁
Great video…looking forward to trying some Frey Ranch sometime soon! Cheers to you both! 🥃😊
Cheers, Melissa! Use code SPRING23 on their website before the end of the month for 10% off!
The Frey Ranch and Old 55 are the standouts that I really want to try! Great video guys!! Pilot to bombardier…you are nowhere near over the target!! 🤣
LOL heads up!

Absolutely right on with that Mid-E level on ECBP. This bottle is just so good!
Great list of bourbons. I would love to try all of them... thank you for making me literally lol today! It made my day 😂❤ cheers 🥃
What a mess that last category made, lol.

LOL thank you, Doug! We are terrible pourers, haha.
I stopped by the old 55 distillery, and bought one of their single barrel bourbon’s. It is very tasty. They were very surprised on how well they did in the advent calendar.
They deserve any and all accolades they get, as far as we're concerned. That flavor profile just nails our palates.

So where are you guys located at.
Oregon
These are great whiskies, and the long pour was brilliant. I spill some on a short pour, so I’m not trying it.
Haha, the cleanup required multiple towels.
I fully expect you guys to acquire the HH 20 this year and tell us how great it is 😂
LOL not for $290! We passed on it this weekend.
@@TheBourbonVan I’m weak I would have pulled the trigger on that lol
Belle Meade. What I call a "gentleman's bourbon" sorry Julie, a real ladies bourbon as well. LOL
