I always say this but I like how Kel’Thuzard remains were put into Arthas’s father’s urn and in turn minds becomes kinda like a father figure to Arthas. The way he cared for Arthas was not always servant to king, but a way a father cares for his child.
Kinda makes sense actually since KT died before he could have children of his own. For some of the smarter non mindless undead, occassionally bits of sentimentality remain.

If i recall, the distinction between resurrection and necromancy is that resurrection retains the will of the revived while necromancy takes away the will of the revived. It's basically either saving someone or enslaving someone.
@@joshuakim5240 so basically Jainas brother was resurrected. Still he looks like a corpse, because.. seemingly he rotted enough until he was resurrected.
Necromancy just shoves a soul back into a corpse, where as Resurrection brings the actual body back life in addition to letting the soul return to it. Then there are things like some death knights and some forms of the plague that basically kill the body but keep the soul bound inside. An undeads intelligence seems to depend on either how much of the soul is brought back or how bound the soul is.
I Love the Moment when Arthas Met kelthuzad after Killing him and was Like: you're Not angry with me for Killing you, are you? And kel's Just like: nah Dude, it's all Part of the plan, we're good.
Excellent video dude, I love how for every scene there's a matching drawing to really engage the listener into the story as much as possible so to say.
Funnily enough if you read Arthas’s novel, there’s a scene where one of the dread lords notes that there seems to be “affection” between Arthas and kel. Also, part of the narration in one of the bits from Sylvanas’s POV refers to him as a “fussy nursemaid”
7:12 Sylvanas: Why is there a cat here? Kel'Thuzard: Oh, you mean Mr. Bigglesworth? Sylvanas: You name it....Bigglesworth?. Kel'Thuzard: Yes. Isn't he adorable? Sylvanas: -_-
this video really opened my eyes on a part of the lore that i never knew and i will literally never see kel'thuzad or arthas the same way, thank you alot for this
These are drawings of another person that he works with. Not his, but on his channel so I get the slight mistake. It's not like it's a big deal either, just wanted to make sure people are notified.
I like that you mentioned the part where Arthas calls Kel'thuzad his friend. The campaign when you play Arthas in The Frozen Throne really makes him seem like a believable character, just with "evil" intentions. All he wanted was to make everyone in his kingdom undead and rule over them, which is exactly what Sylvanas is doing now, only with less style, I could say...
Kael Thomas I still think the old gods are the polar opposite of what the void lords are supposed to be and it makes zero sense. Old gods are all about unconstrained malignant growth, the void lords want to just end everything, not just life but existence. I dont see how sending out biological lifeforms capable of reproduction (in a sense) helps void lords accomplish that goal. Ironically, reorigination devices more embody what the void lords are about, a total clean sweep of everything. I still think the old gods are purely titan experimentation (perhaps as weapons against the Void Lords) gone wrong. Ul'dyr's lore seems to lend some credibility to this theory. Why would the void lords need old gods? Hell, all the Void Lords have to do is wait, and entropy wins eventually. Maybe the only purpose of the old gods was to manipulate Sargeras into doing their bidding, relentlessly extinguishing life on any planet that could materialize a world soul capable of fighting the void lords. Also, Natherizim are/were clearly loyal to the void lords before the legion, and they're known for their machiavellian nature.
200% SMUG Old gods are basically parasites, thats why they grow endlessly. Their main goal is to corrupt any world soul, which would be unstoppable by anything that exists in universe. Void lord's goal on creating old gods are basically that. Why they dont do that themselves? Because void lords are purely void entities, that means they cannot enter our universe (we are living light side of the universe). They needed something that is both somewhat powerfull and can actually exist somewhere other than void. Old gods arent really just biological beings, they are beings that is half void entities and half living beings. Old gods cannot manipulate titans, thats basically impossible. They can corrupt a titan before the birth, which is the sole reason they created from the start. And no, Nathrezim were never loyal to the void lords. They are demons, they basically popped out from the clash of light and void. They were always enemies to the void and the light. But they had no purpose, they were just fighting mindlessly until Sargeras created the legion.
Excellent explanation. Listened the first time and I will watch the second to see the drawings. I am looking at the art now. I love the Kel'Thuzad's cat and teacup
One big mistake made: You talk about Arthas "becoming part of the Lich King" earlier than he actually did. Arthas didn't become part of the Lich King when he picked up Frostmourne or when he killed his father. He was just a deathknight, then; he called himself King, but it was just King of Lordaeron. He received power from Frostmourne, Frostmourne was part of the Lich King, and Arthas started losing power because the Lich King started losing power, around when Illidan and his forces started assaulting the Scourge in Northrend. It was only after Arthas defeated Illidan and then broke open the Lich King's prison, and put on his helmet, that Arthas and the Lich King fused to become one being. So it was Arthas - just Arthas - who called Kel'Thuzad his best friend and appreciated his loyalty. That's still impressive, because Arthas was basically a psychopath at that point, but he remained more human at that point than he became later. One small mistake: It's spelled "Atiesh", not "Aitesh". Still, overall good video!
@Adûnâi I will need to play the Frozen Throne again to refresh my memory on this. I just remember Ilidan attacking the throne. If I remember correctly, Illidan attacked first from afar before going to Northrend (I'm guessing he used the eye you're talking about). Illidan fails the first time and tries to hide in Outland, but Kil'jaeden finds him and gives him one last chance to destroy the frozen throne, so that's when he goes to Northrend. Also, the throne was already cracked because Ner'zhul pished Frostmourne out and Illidan's attacks made the ice crack bigger. (It's been so long since I played warcraft 3, but that's what I remember).
Nerubians are undead, they were the first minions of Ner'zhul (on Warcraft 3 lore they were half humanoid, that's why they used bandages on they bodies)
Thanks to your video my boyfriend and I ran Naxx to try and get him the Silent Crusader sword that drops off random mobs. I just told him tonight will be a good night for a Naxx transmog run. And sure enough two bosses before finishing the raid the sword dropped. So I wanted to give you his thanks ^-^ You do wonderful work and I hope you have a great year!
The animations are amazing, but Arthas looks a bit like a fish. Using different colours to represent the different dreadlords was a stroke of genius. I also like that you showed Kel'Thuzads cat, the only living thing in naxxramas
yay another one!!! i was so excited to see what the next video had in store and im not disappointed. these are really cool and informative, and the art makes me laugh, and im looking forward to the next one!!
I love you Hiru. Arthas didn't weaken from a lack of proximity to the Lich King and Ice Crown, he weakened because of Illidan's magical attack (with the Eye of Sargaras and Dalaran's leylines), which cracked the Frozen Throne and caused Ne'zhul's spirit to seep out.
I actually never knew Kel'Thuzad had such important lore, for me he was juste "spoopy magic skeleton boi" He's definitely one of my favorite villain, he's a real bro and come on, he has a cat. And if Blizzard didn't forget him, i really hope he comes back later, hopefully in Shadowlands ?
This was really, really good. The art is so much different from blizzard's creepy style, you managed to make kel'thuzad and the old gods cute. I want c'thun and yogg saron plushies now.
Your style of downplaying the seriousness and dramatic-ness of each of the key events and putting it in a casual and nonchalant way is what i come back here for!
But, just 2 quick things, in case someone here doesn't know: KT actually thought about betraying the Lich King when he teleported out of Naxx and was forced to go meet him, but the LK punished him for even thinking of it, and second one, Arthas didn't actually need to "Recharge", but he needed to go help the LK, who was loosing power in Icecrown, and that's why Arthas was also becoming weaker. The drawings are just perfect, and I will try to get a commission from the artist for a video like this one but about our RP guild :'D
I always loved the little touch of Arthas calling Kel’Thuzad his only friend. It shows that there is still some humanity left in him, and that part of him needs kinship, even as the champion of the Lich King.

Garrosh was 100% a villain, so this could happen. Although, you could also say that the presence of saronite in Wotlk/Cata (I think cata.) could have corrupted Garrosh. This would mean he didn't succumb to it untill MoP. It's a it of a stretch though, it's the blood of Yogg Saron. It could drive villages insane. So it's either that Garrosh is insanely strong, or he simply wasn't around long enough for it to corrupt him immediately. I say that he was steady all through cata, Because in stonetalon mountains he still seems like a pretty sane dude.
Kel'Thuzad did not have his phylactery on his person during his second defeat. His current status remains unknown, but rumors spread that his soul was lost to the Shadowlands. Above is the last sentence of Kel'Thuzad's WoWpedia page, I'm hoping that he'll be reintroduced in Shadowlands
Props on Kel'thuzad learning from his mistakes and not carrying his phylactery with him the second time he got killed in Naxx. I assume he did what he did the first time because he grew arrogant after all his successful plans and was not expecting to be defeated so easily.
Now i am just thinking about Kel'Thuzad going around town like a jahovas witness Also it is hard for me to comprehend Arthas calling another person a friend
"Welcome to Naxxramas my name is Anub'Arak and I will be your guide today"
This made my day. Thank you good sir.
I don't even recognize Kel'Thuzas as a villain, he is a real bro.

Kel'Thuzad probably is the sole reason I was obsessed with Liches as a dweeby teenager.
Voidlord Kel'Thuzad, you heard it from me first.

ok Kel'Thuzad is the coolest villain and i dont care what people say
he and gul'dan are my 2favorite villans in warcraft lore.
Law ''coolest'' heh, get it?
Well arthas as the lich king was cooler cause he literally sleeps while being frozen in ice
The Lich King himself is a bit better though, Still, he is an awesome villain. Definitely one of the best.

Above is the last sentence of Kel'Thuzad's WoWpedia page, I'm hoping that he'll be reintroduced in Shadowlands
I love Rachel’s drawings. The one with the people breaking in, while Kel’Thuzad was drinking his tea, had me rollin. Haha
Yay! Great video! I looooooooooove all the art for these videos, it is perfect!
great series, man!
earned my like sub and alert
Props on Kel'thuzad learning from his mistakes and not carrying his phylactery with him the second time he got killed in Naxx.
I assume he did what he did the first time because he grew arrogant after all his successful plans and was not expecting to be defeated so easily.
Now i am just thinking about Kel'Thuzad going around town like a jahovas witness
Also it is hard for me to comprehend Arthas calling another person a friend
the phylactery is the urn that arthas used to transport kel'thuzad to the sunwell and raise his as a lich.
