The Villains Corner, this will be the pilot episode of a new series in which I summarize the lore of various Villains, with neat little drawings for a nice visual aid since a lot of this stuff doesn't happen in game. This series will only ever cover the lore of Villains and nothing else, and to start off this series, we'll start with Yogg-saron, One of the more active Old Gods.

aodhair mcsiplord I don’t know. The threat they present is still very real. They may be bound, they’re still a stone’s throw away from creating a Void Titan out of Azeroth. Furthermore, even if we win against the Old Gods, we still have the Void Lords to deal with, and since they’re basically a sentient cosmic force, there’s no way we can defeat them permanently.
The next episode should be about Garrosh, even though he's not a villian.

Great job Hiru. Paintings are awesome, really liking them. It MAYBE would be cooler with coloring (as they're "closed" it's just about pouring colors in). And Garrosh for next vid definetly as he's still one of the most discussed villians in lore. Or you can spiral from that episode to Sargeras/Ragnaros/Other OGs. But I want Garrosh.
Bro i like thisnew series but when u do it about garrosh please note that garrosh didnt blindly hate every other race in world . He started seing danger in horde when Carine bloodhoof blamed him cuz assassination on druids but it was twilight hamer , not garroshs orcs . Then thing that sylvanas statred playing new lich king after lich king was defeated . And all that "war crimes " , God damn this is world of WAR CRAFT not world of friendship craft . And that being said hopefully u will mention it :) happy holydays !!!

You could have added Yogg's whispers into the events shown in his mind during the fight (whispering to Garona when she murders King Llane, whispering to LK as he tortures Bolvar) as this is important for the lore
a)The art if frickin amazing and just fits so well with the topic. Looks like a story unfolding.
b)Loved the video. Pretty much a WoW lore crash course, which is awesome because im a lore fanatic and the vids are pretty quick, covering specific impprtant characters from the lore.
c)PLEASE make more of these. Theyre quite enjoyable, quick to watch, and its actually a lore video withiut it being mynotously written.

I never knew just how in depth the lore got with the Titans, such as azeroth being a titan itself. That is a pretty huge plot point I had no idea about, nor the fact that the Old Gods were literally pieces of the Void Lords. Keep this up! It was amazing!
This is amazing Hiru - exactly the kind of thing I love to listen to, as whilst I'm interested to an extent in the WoW lore, usually there's so much going on that it's a bit overwhelming and off-putting to remember everything. Having everything in bitesize pieces for a single character is a perfect way to absorb the info
A good order for tie ins
Yogg > C’thun > Y’shaarj > Garrosh (even though he isn’t a villain) > Lich King (longer one so as to include Ner’zhul) > Kil’Jaden > Illidan (same as Garrosh) > Archimonde > Sargeras > Gul’dan
Idk where to go from there. You can always mix in the more minor villains like Arugal, The VanCleef’s, Putress, etc
Azshara, Kael’thas, Xavius, Elisande, N’zoth, Deathwing...
The Thunder King has to fit in somewhere too because of Keeper Ra. Maybe when talking about Y'shaarj or the Sha.
Selwrynn I think Garrosh was a villain because of what he was willing to do, he was so missguided. Decent character but overshadowed by how bad WoD was. I RP as a orc warrior who is fed up with constantly fighting the alliance and the red vs blue mentality so when Garrosh started breaking everything like, Baine and Vol,Jin I just turned my back on the child. He took the horde on such a wanton and wrong path that only really appealed to the old codgers who haven't moved on from the first war and the new and impressionable blood. Now we have an elf 'leading' us, a dead one no less. Tired of seeing red blood on my blade, I'm off back to Argus to slap demon's until more old gods show up, that sounds like a fight!
Filthy Peasant I don’t think that being willing to do anything makes him a villain. I think it makes him bad, but not evil. The whole thing with Baine was him being used, he fought fair and square but someone (Magatha Grimtotem) poisoned his weapon. Remember it wasn’t that long ago that the Alliance put the orcs in internment camps where horrible things were done to them and they were treated like animals, then with Cataclysm they began invading Horde territory like the Barrens it’s no wonder that Garrosh began fighting back, however if you look at questlines like Stonetalon you see that he was an honorable person and didn’t approve of the things some of his crazier subordinates were doing. I think his story was written shoddily to turn him into a villain much like how Illidan’s was.
I’m a deathknight who fought off the orcs at Silvermoon and died fighting alongside the prince. To find out we were allied with the orcs was a shock but when I learned how the alliance abandoned us, fuck those guys. No matter how tired you are of war you need to remember, the horde stands together to protect one another from forces that would see us wiped off this earth. The Orcs, The Undead, The Trolls, The Alliance want to end you. Sure their boy king wants peace, but have you seen those who’s council he seeks? Jaina Proudmore, Glenn Greymane, Velen may be a moderate but how long can he be over ruled for? Even if you do not seek an active war like I do, we must always stay prepared for they would destroy us all if given the chance. Kill all the demons you want, I will never stop you on that front, just be ready when the Horde calls you to action or toss aside your axe for good, go some village in Pandaria and settle down.

I listen to these vids while questing around Northrend (private WotLK server). After going through the questlines in Storm Peaks, I rewatched this and it added so much to my understanding of the lore. Thanks :)

Excellent drawings. They were simplistic, quickly illustrated the details of the narration so that the viewer knew exactly what was going on. A+ The whole video puts you up there with Nobbel.

Also never really thought of the void lords like giant Lovecraftian horrors themsleves and the old gods being "pieces of them" but i guess that actually makes sense lol
kudos to you and rachel. i thought this extremely helpful and informative. at this point you could do any lore videos like this about any topic or characters and it'll be crazy helpful in understanding this world and the inner workings of the vast world and history of azeroth. Damn, Yogg-Saron really has his tentacles in a lot of the lore. Also, I'm quite impressed at how neatly Blizz tied all this lore up with those books.

I am usually too lazy to do comments, but this here is really worth my time.
I think what you did here was a great idea, a lovely little Christmas present for all of us. As I see it it's more of a prototype project so I have some feedback and ideas but let's start with the bigger chunk: the good stuff.
When I watch information videos like this I tend to not concentrate on the visuals, usually I check tumblr, DA, or play a card game in the foreground, it's videos like this that make me focus on the visuals too.
Your part was as good as ever. You have a good voice and we all can hear your the experience you got over your years on RUclips. Sadly that means I don't have much critique for it, only ideas to change things, but more on that later.
The drawings were lovely too, this simple cute style works perfect. There are some small details that somewhat trigger me, like the zig-zac lines of the teeth going through the mouth-curve at times or lines not ending where they should (Yogg's 'nose' on 11:35). Whether the time it takes to fix these things is worth the effort is hard to say, but these small fixes aren't something the busy artist has to do themself anyway.
Rachel did a good job with the timing too, the different pictures/ second seemed pretty constant, it would have been weird if we had 10 different drawings in a minute (when you share a lot of different facts) and then just one static pic over 2 seconds (when you talk deeper about *one* thing) these kinds of things tend to hurt the flow.
Now let's talk about ideas. This is a lovely niche, I don't know about anyone else, at least not in the wow community doing anything even similar to this. Capitalizing on it sounds like a fun idea, maybe even turning it into *your* think, yuor personal style of video, the thing that characterizes your channel.
But of course this concept can grow. I like the limited use of color. Small animations would help the whole thing too - and no, don't worry, I am not crazy, I know how much time that costs. I am not talking about minute long frame by frame stuff. The camera panning already introduced movement, but why stop there? At 2:10 the titan bubble could have this soft up-down floating effect, characters could pan in, faced could change, that's just the same frame with a different face after all, it's not much work. One could also experiment with graphical effects. It's hard to say if it would work, but I like the idea of for example animating the black gradient at 0:33. Just make it grow and shrink to give it this ominous pulsing effect. Spell effects like the lightning on 6:50 can be easily animated if you draw the zic-zacs 3 times and alternate between them, same goes for fire or things like vortexes.
I hope I could help you a bit with this, I hope youtube won't bitch because it's too long ... Keep on your good work and Merry Christmas :)

So sargerous is technically a giant illidan. He does his thing “technically” for the better of the universe. Complete universe destroyed vs just a superior demon race. Idk how I feel about sargerous anymore. He thought he was doing the right thing

The difference between Illidan and Sargeras is Illidan seeks to protect while Sargeras seeks to purge.
@@ambika69 Sargeras essentially wants to eliminate the sufferers while Illidan wants to protect them.
It is the equivalent of having a pain on your arm and cutting it off or choosing to let it heal
Sargeras is giant Arthas: fall from the grace because of their encounter with a dreadlord, purge what was supposed to be protected, and damned their ownself in the process. In the end, they're become what they used to fight, one become a leader of the demon, the other become leader of the undead.
Great video and a nice start for a cool series with lots of content. Since you kinda covered the origin story in the pilot and one of the old gods, next character could be of the burning legion:). Keep up the good work!

plus its likely that we will fight him again in battle for azeroth since the blood of the world is seeping into the sands of silithis after sargeras stabbed it. which will give cthun new life since old gods never actually die they can only be banished/ suppressed. Also its hinted at a lot that we will see him again, and its almost at this point confirmed the expansion will also have n'zoth appear finally. old gods expansion so hyped!!!!

Wonderful work. The line are is simple yet very effective and detailed and the concept of this series is a good one. Perhaps for the next installment you could focus on a smaller, less cosmic-doom villain to serve as a contrast and emphasis that a villain is a villain whether they are mortal or immortal. With the Zandararli trolls making a return in the next xpac, perhaps you could talk about one or more of the troll factions or leaders that we have had to fight in the game. Other options include the Defias Brotherhood, the dark-iron dwarves, and the iron horde.

As for next episode, I think it'd be cool to stick with the Old Gods then branch out so maybe C'thun next followed by Y'shaarj but as N'zoth's story isn't complete yet you might want to save that for next expansion (although putting it out just before as a prologue to the x-pac might be cool too).
So first this is an amazing series. Yet another reason why we all should subscribe and hit the bell for notifications. 2nd..... PLEASE KEEP GOING AND DO MORE.
