1. God wants you to prepare your heart to listen and submit before you speak and request.
2. Prayerfully ask God a specific yes or no question that is clear and concise.
3. Prayerfully sit before the Lord, listening for a sense of direction from the Holy Spirit.
4. Prayerfully seek confirmation about what you sense God is saying by bringing both yeses and noes before Him.
5. Actively seek biblical confirmation that stems from a clear rendering of scripture.
God will answer you when you’re not afraid of the answer.

I’ve had people tell me that God doesn’t speak to anyone and they even said that whoever thinks they can hear God’s voice needs some serious help. But the Bible clearly states that His children hear His voice. These few people claimed to be saved, but how can one be saved if they don’t believe God speaks. He’s not an idle man made God, He is a moving, speaking, living God. These words did make me question whether or not I was truly hearing God, but God quickly put the verse “My children know my voice” on my heart. For anyone reading, if anyone says this to you, whether they claim to be christian or not, pray that they will hear the beautiful and wondrous voice of the Lord before it’s too late. There’s nothing more sweeter than hearing God speak to you.

I've asked God several times about something that has been puzzling me and I've always been getting answers from God. He definitely answers when you allow him to speak to you.
God is good!
So this happened to me: Yesterday I was so happy, joyful, and at peace In The Lord. Then a few hours later, at night, it was gone. I felt completely abandoned. Like God left me. I was doubting my salvation, and being scared that I think I’m saved but I’m not. I just want to experience his love again.
The holy spirit can't stay with you, though he will always 'be' with you when you sin. Envy, strife, jealousy, anger, sexual sins etc etc can cause this seperation
God will never leave you or forsake you. I can relate to what you are going through. You are human, so you are going to feel human emotions. I had a tendency to oscillate between joyful peace and feeling depressed and hopeless before but it was God leading me to understand and deal with the reason for these feelings - lack of purpose in my life, suppressed trauma, toxic relationships, unconfessed sin. He's a loving father and his feelings and thoughts to you do not change even when you don't feel like he's there. Keep going and seek to trust God and have a real and honest relationship with him, understanding what his heart is to you. Psalms are good if you need a good template to pray.
Yes, the Holy Spirit is still with you. But there is something that needs your attention. Note, as God reveals this issue to you soon.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, thank you Jesus

Never been religious , had a difficult upbringing and never was introduced or sought it out. After losing basically everything at this point and having been too 4 or 5 different detox facilities and rehabs in a little over the past year all by my own doing and still never being able to sustain sobriety as I watched everyone and everything I loved slip away in front of me. I decided tonight that I will try this last time , I shot what I hope can be my last dose of heroin ever. I’m asking for gods assistance in this and when I wake up tomorrow sick I will be ready to do whatever it takes and suffer as much as I need to or he sees fit to get my life back. I’m turning it over to god , I vow to do my part from tonight forward and pray that he just helps me along the way to overcome this evil that’s overcome and decimated my life and my family... God bless all of you , I’m waking up to take a bit of the Suboxone strip that I have saved in order to ease the withdrawal process and going to try and do a short term taper off of that from home , I don’t even care how sick I get or how much pain I need to endure at this point because I officially feel hopeless and lost all will you live or go on , I have 3 innocent beautiful young daughters to live for and no amount of suffering can compare to the thought of me giving up on them and continuing on this path. I also plan on finding and joining a local church to help along the way , I’m dead serious and done living this way when I know I’m better and a good person at heart full of love and light buried underneath a tremendous amount of pain and negativity. Time to find my way to that light....

Yes, just on time again! Been praying and fasting over a huge question I have right now, and this has helped tremendously. It is a yes or no question. And I just heard "Which answer requires more Faith in ME"?
And one answer requires no faith in HIM, the other requires an Enormous step of faith.

For the past couple of days, I've been considering asking God to just tell me whether or not he wants me to be married one day (but I was too afraid to go through with it because even though I will always follow God no matter what, I do very much want to be married) and I was also wondering a lot recently how some people can hear God tell them things so clearly. I begged to hear God's voice since i was a kid. Now im in my 50s i finally heard His male voice but i got scared. Lol 😆. But now he speaks in my head without literally hearing His voice. But it can get confusing between my voice and God's voice. I wish to hear God's voice literally again.

What if i tell God im literally ready and open to any answer, and still no answer? Then what? Are we just supposed to sit still in the same place for the rest of our lives?

No. The word 'wait' doesn't mean the way we think of it in our language. It's not like we are waiting at a bus stop for the bus to arrive. Instead, we wait for God's direction while we abide in Him, draw closer to Him, and live one day at a time. What's helped me (this only works when I abide and live for His glory) is to seek the yes and no answers as Mark discusses here, and talk to myself saying "I trust my loving Father to guide me, and that if He wants me to do this instead of that then He will make it known." I admonish myself often, and for whatever reason it works. But the admonition is always based on a prayer. I turn the prayer into admonition. If I pray "God show me the way." I admonish myself "God will show me the way."

On the subject of hearing from God: I've found that 'complicated' is not the only thing that is difficult, in life, it can also be so simple as to make it difficult.

I usually find God answers me but sometimes he doesn't and I find out the hard way or leads me down this path to get my answer the long way but I'm in a bad place mentally right now all the struggle I've been through in my life still not fallen to today's extreme temptations drugs alcohol smoking etc. But I still feel great pain from time to time now is one of those times
Life can be painful and confusing, but we must keep seeking the Lord and seek out those ways God is asking us to serve others
