A leader needs to first bring hope in the form of vision and then work relentlessly with the team members by motivating them to accomplish it. Hope, motivation, vision and trust are hallmarks of transformational leader
Finding the right talent, first and foremost, is key to implementing any managerial style. That's what I was constantly reminded of while watching this from personal experience.
I try to be a good leader to my students by being a friendly and good person. I inspire and motivate them and try to make them feel excited about learning in general and learning English in particular.
Based from what you mentioned earlier in the video, I think that developing these 5 styles wont matter if the leader is not sensitive or observant to what leadership style is needed for 'the situation depending team or team members'. this was really great. really appreciate you for making this video. thanks
@igraine bonjing, If I hear you right, you mean that an effective leader is one who can and does make use of the feedback that they receive throughout the journey. Feedback here could be what he observes to be the results of any one style, and then embracing the facts when they invite him/her to apply a different style , right?
Thank you for leadership styles Mr Brian. Your leadership style is becoming examples for others. Keep inspiring people. Our best wishes are always with you.
i believe in my people and connect to what you stated - the ability to get extraordinary achievement from ordinary people! No one has super powers! we are just human beings just as our collaborators.... the right push in the right direction, a tap on the back, doing things together can make marvels!
You have provided more than enough insight into leadership. Although the Servant Leader depicts my style, I think blending it with Transformational leadership fits in... A big thank you Chief!
Wow! I am very happy that I came across your video. I have been in the business of grocery retail for over 30 years, and I stand on my admiration and practice of Servant Leadership, but now that I saw your explanation of each of these 5 styles, I too am favoring Transformational. Communicating the vision or goal and inspiring them to achieve the goal will have a greater result in the end. I also feel Charismatic leadership is also critical and overlaps Transformational leadership, they work hand-in-hand from my perspective. Thank you for posting!
Amazing work! I'm working on thesis in my university with my teammates and which is why, to boost our work, I have amplified my studies on leadership. These words of guidance will have a huge impact! Can you please make some time to enlighten us on intention-behavior gap? I mean, when you have a lot of heart into something but you cannot put it into work, with or without efficiency...
Thank you for this useful information. Now it's my favorite video. I wish you best successes in all spheres. Greetings from Ukraine. My leadership style is becoming an example for others. Someone once said, '' If you inspire other people to dream more, do more, and become more; you're a leader''.
Thank you for such a short and yet concise and complete session. I've just discovered that I've been adopting the transformational style without knowing much about this theory and I've just found a name to it 🤝
Crisp & Clear : Well Appreciative - Thank You I will judicially employ all 5 leadership styles, with a thread weaving approach : all towards achieving The Set Objective ( The Goal )

I saved this video as I am now working on a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and I want to have it to refer back to. Thank you for this video.
Great synopses! I currently have a highly diverse group of former individuals who, under the new system being implemented, are now expected to function as a team. The group is composed of various genders/orientations, ages from 20's to 70's, experience levels from new employee to tenure veterans, a multitude of personality types and they cover the spectrum on education level as well. I've been using several of these skills simultaneously, tailoring them to meet the needs of the group and individuals within the group. Things started off rough but about a month in a team has been formed and I am hearing positive feedback from the top brass about our performance, so these skills do work but it might take some time to form a cohesive unit and then maintenance to keep the group functioning well. As with anything, there are good days and bad.
One skill I use to be an effective leader is that of deliberately putting a premium on personal and team development in near equal measure. I find that this continually creates in myself and my team a mindset that epitomizes transformational leadership through synergy.
Brian Tracy you are spot on. However ,one thing I pick out of here is that leadership style is greatly determined by the situation and environment in which the leadership is supposed to be applied. Thanks
Develop, lead, serve, and equip your team... And don't forget that the person is never bigger than the organisation, the organisation is always bigger than one person. If the person leading the organisation sees themselves as bigger than the organisation, when they are disposed it all crumbles to a halt; the other way, though, and it is simply a job of empowering your team members to lead themselves where they are better able. As a leader you hold everything together, but you never let ego rule the roost!

I am more so a Freedom/Servant leader but my actions don't quite line up. I will have to listen again to take notes and evaluate myself on how to do better and to achieve a better way of doing and being to my team.

In my view, being a mixture of all these styles, depending on various situations and tasks, is the most efficient method for a successful leader.
