Beautiful is a weird one for me. On it's own, it's a very touching song that can be very comforting. But it sends really mixed messages when it's on the same album as lines like "looking for tr*nnies" I understand that all the shock lyrics on relapse are just that, shock lyrics. But it makes it hard to tell how sincere Beautiful really is and how he really feels just my 2 cents, it is a... well, beautiful song
@@vivi-wr8nm relapse as an album is the sslp with accents. Sslp had songs like rock bottom which is just him talking about his struggles and almost unaliving himself, and beautiful is the same
Yes I hope he does “not afraid” is a great song. I play it everyday at work at the post office. Keeps me mentally sane and somewhat happy. Keeps the stress out from my 6 days 10 hours of postal plant work 😂
Beautiful by Eminem is a absolutely beautiful song. It's deep and he sings. Also the song Bad Husband he apologized to his wife Kim and took responsibility for his part of fault in the marriage.
Agree about the Bad Husband song. It brings closure to their relationship with Kim. Highly recommend to listen. ruclips.net/video/73Sfh_qGsDo/видео.html
Kim is a song that you need to be in a really solid headspace to be in to listen to. It was written when he was in a very dark place, and it actually was so graphic, it brought him a great deal of legal trouble. His references to the FCC trying to censor him kind of really took off when Kim came out. If you do listen to it, you have to listen to the uncensored version BUT I say that with a great deal of caution. It's an extremely graphic song.
My relationship to Marshalls music has always been a stand in for the relationship I never had with my own father. He was an addict himself, in and out of jail and therefore in and out of my life. There were times when he was around he would surprise me at school by bringing me a magazine about Eminem, or one of his CDs. He took me to the theatre to see 8 Mile when it released. I was only in the 4th grade at the time and in those moments I thought I had the coolest dad ever. In the times that he wasn't around I could listen to Em's music and feel like I was getting a peek behind the curtain of my dads own internal struggles. And in the songs that he mentioned Hailie I could kind of pretend that despite his problems that was how my dad felt about me too. When I'm Gone came out when I was 11 years old and I really needed it at the time. I cried many tears to that song and still do anytime I hear it. Unfortunately my dad never did find sobriety, but I am so happy that Marshall did. And when I listen to him now I often think about an alternate reality where my dad chose the same path. For these reasons I have a connection to Ems music that can never and will never be replicated by another artist. I am 28 now and his music is as important to me now as it ever was. It is amazing to me how so many people have been helped in similar ways by his music. Sorry this was kind of long winded. People in my real life know I am a huge Eminem fan, but I've never actually shared the reasons why. It felt good to reflect. Thank you
Thanks for this! These things we go through in life prepare us to lift others up that have had our same struggles. Many need to hear from you that really need your experience and gained wisdom...
I listened to this so damn much when my son was about to be born. His name is Marshall and this Marshall’s music and story helped me so much. I’m a great father and I know that. Almost 6 years clean and Em is a big part of it. May sound silly to some but it’s true. He’s definitely not the only reason I got sober but he helped me out of some rough places.
Congrats man. You clearly know what’s important and u can do this! Your son is lucky to have u, and vice versa. There’s a quote that I love: “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Keep up the great work with little M!
My dad was an alcoholic. If I had a dad like Larry, I wouldn't have ended up in Juvenile Dtention at 15 for a 'carrying a concealed weapon' charge and 'threatening a witness'. Been in jail more times than I can remember and been in prison. I went for selling heroin and prescription drugs, I am also a recovering alcoholic/drug addict. My drug of choice is heroin. I lost 10 friends from heroin overdose, 2 from drunk driving and 2 doing 25 years in prison.(One from negligent homicide for selling 4 people heroin that died and one from armed robberies) I literally have 1 childhood friend left. I watched my dad die in the street when I was 21 years old and my ex wife left me a week later after just going to 7 funerals in 11 months from my best friends and dad dying. I started drinking myself to death and using more drugs than ever before. I watched my daughter's mom (not my ex wife) try to commit suicide multiple times. She ung herself after her dad was murdered and had to be cut down, the last time she tried, she ate 25 200mg Seroquel and was in a coma for 3 days. She almost killed me in 2013. She stabbed me and I was opened up so much the doctor said my small intestines were showing. I am now 3+ years clean and sober and have a beautiful, healthy, 6 year old daughter who means the world to me and I would do anything for, including staying clean and sober for the rest of my life. P.S. I got a dog in 2012, he was 4 weeks old and I named him Slim after Eminem. Slim died last month, January 11th. He would've been 10 years old this month. Slim was my best friend and was there with me through my darkest times. My daughter and I just shed tears last night because we miss him so much. Thanks for reading this. If you have kids, be there for them, love them, teach them things, ask them about their day, about their life and how they're feeling, be involved as much as you can. -GMTA
Thank you so much for sharing this. I can't even begin to imagine walking this path in your shoes. So much respect for you in what you have been battling. You have so much to offer others that have had your experiences and that can relate to you. You can be there for others in helping lift them from this pit. So many people need someone like you in their lives. Blessings brother.
Wow... I thought my life was rough... Breakups with unfaithful partners, Father being an Alcho and not around, just lost my best mate Garfield of 15 years (Cat)and my mrs had a baby that wasnt mine and she is the cutest baby ever... Life is hard but we only have ourselves to get out of these patters and cycles we get use to... I hope the rest of your life is much easier bro!
Damn! I got a little choked up reading your story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I’m so sorry for all you had to go through to get where you are. We all have our battles, but some are more tragic than others. I guess you could say you’ve been through it ALL and still was able to get clean. Incredible! God bless you and your child, and I hope you’re able to enjoy the many years you still have left 💛xo
That's so funny that you realize that there are some of us " who want to protect you".. LOL..I'm one of those..It's been wonderful watching you open up your spirit to Em...I'm a 57 yr old, retired English teacher...and the first time I ever heard Em was in the late 90's..I was driving and when I got onto a bridge I thought.." OMG..This guy is a total jerk."by the time I exited the bridge I thought " OMG..This guy is a total genius"...Absolutely love your reactions!
The apology for the rambling I think is so funny. We are here for that type of reaction the talk, the journey, the peeks into your life. That is why some people don't want you to react to certain songs as they wouldn't impact you like these do . Another good one !
You remind me so much of my mother! she use to hate Eminem and think his was nothing but negativity. but after giving him a chance and really hearing his words and his story she now absolutely loves him! Eminem might not always say things in a manna that is easy on everybody's ears, but what he says is always raw and real! and he is never afraid to say what others won't. Marshal Mathers lived a devastating childhood but he used experience to create Eminem/Slim Shady and not only become the but use his voice to fill voids in a lot struggling kids and give them hope and peace in a life that does not! I really enjoy watching you experience that feeling a Eminem song gives you the first time you hear it!
I'm 29, white and grew up in the hood similar to Marshall, have a 1 year old daughter and an 11 year old step son. I was able to get away from the negativity I was born into but it made me crazy and I don't feel crazy when I look into her eyes. I was an angsty teen listening to em and other rap. He definitely has shaped who I am.
He really really helped me in middle school. I never had someone to relate to so closely and hearing his songs and lyrics made me realize that I wasn't the only one struggling with life. Now that I'm an adult I still am so thankful for his words. One day I dream of meeting him and just thanking him for keeping me alive when I needed it most.
Same school ends lock yourself away and put on his cd and just hide from everything you’re going through. His words giving you hope to keep fighting on that one day it’ll not suck so bad you can survive and make it.
I'm 40 years old. From the UK. Eminem (Slim Shady) came on to the scene here in the late 90's when I was turning 18 years old and I was hooked from the start! His music has been a companion to my life through all my ups and downs. My first love, my first heartbreak, my anger, my hate, my love, my joy, my depression, my suicide attempts, my father dying in 2018, my first and only marriage in May last year, and now I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing it all again through your eyes. I've been lucky. I saw him live in concert in Milton Keynes Bowl (UK) in 2002 on the Anger Management Tour. I arrived the night before and queued up from 6am. Made the front pit. Made the front row. And half way through his gig he leaned over the railing and high fived me. I've literally TOUCHED him. And he touched me. In more ways than one. I'd legit sit here and watch a 48 hour stream of you reacting to his entire catalogue. Start with Infinite. His earlier releases are his best in my opinion. No one else comes close to his talent. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE more EMINEM content. He's simply the BEST.
Please link to a lyric video, because the music video doesn't have the 3rd verse! It's important to listen to the whole song and the video simply doesn't offer it.
I’m 17 from spain and I discovered Eminem the same time as you. It’s great to hear others people opinion from the songs so I don’t feel so alone listening to it. I’m currently facing depression and ems music really helps me out. You’re doing great Larry!
I started watching your videos in january, now i cant stop watching. It ist just great to see you fall in love with the music I fell in love years ago...
I know exactly how you feel! Its why I love reaction channels. I'm such an empath so I enjoy living vicariously through other people's reactions to things (good things only of course), especially some of my favorite music. Always puts a smile on my face.
Agree completely about how we don't realize how much parenthood would change us until we're right in the middle of it all. I have two teens now and oh what a ride it has been!! Another great video! 💙
I'd love to see you react to "Legacy"...it's a creative look inside his youth, and how it molded him into the artist he is. It's not fast or his choppy flow so it's easily dissected. It's not as emotional, but it's beautiful in terms of storyline and symmetry.
It's great to see you connect on an emotional side to see where he is coming from and understand it with a right mind. The journey from Eminem is far from over and you will hear darker and lighter things but you understand him as a child and man. Your reactions are great towards Eminem.
I commented earlier, but there is something I have to add. Marshall Mathers released his first album called Infinite, which was widely NON recieved at the time. He felt like he had to change his style and brought/created "Slim Shady" when he met Dr. Dre after Infinite was unsuccessful. You must listen to Infinite the track on the Infinite album The rejection after this album pushed him further. He has about maybe over 400 songs he is part of as a lead and featured and you will see a side of him that is totally separated from his family and gets DARK. But every single one of his songs he is a Rembrandt for sure. This world was blessed to hear his music and range. If he wasnt a rapper he would have been a comedian. Humor and tragedy in one amazing artist.
When Eminem was in D12, it was six individuals, including Marshall. Each had to have an alter ego. and if anyone made it, they would come back for the others. Marshall did. So, Shady has deep roots before he was successful.
I soo understand what ur saying about being a parent once I had a child they were a little human running around with my heart and I NEVER knew how much u could possibly love someone til then.and my life made sense I was ment to help them make their dreams come true and I had to work harder to show them never give up.its hard yes but it's the best gift I was blessed with
I cant say or express how true this song and your statement is. I have two kids, a girl at age 4 (Magnolia) and a boy at age 2 (Malakai). I can safely say that i never felt true love until i held them in my arms for the first time. Every hard day, every dark thought, every exhausted moment are gone the moment i see them smile and run up to me. The tight hugs, the kisses, the love i feel from them, as a dad, is exhilarating. Every move i make, every decision i think, every cent i spend, always have them in mind. This song made me cry when i heard for the first AFTER i became a dad.
I've seen a few of your videos before, but watching you become an Eminem fan is what made me subscribe lol. He really is a lyrical genius. Coming from 8 mile you know that practically every word he knows, and the way he puts them together, was self taught. He may not say things the way people want to hear, but maybe he says it in a way that people need to hear it. I'm glad you gave him a chance!
If you're up for it, though I wouldn't recommend just yet, Kim, followed by Bad Husband, that would be really interesting. In a way it's similar to how he made Headlights after Cleaning out my Closet. BUT, Kim is extremely graphic and can be really terrifying to listen to. You need to be mentally ready to listen to it, LIKE REALLY. It's him conversing with his wife about why she did what she did, and its BRUTAL. So do it only if you're in the right headspace, follow it by Bad Husband so you aren't "tramautised" in a sense lol
yay 😁 I always get so excited when I see you’ve done another Eminem song 🥰Agree being a parent makes this song mean so much more and it’s so relatable xxx
Bad Husband would be a really great step forward for the journey youre on. Eminems capacity to paint a mental picture of the situations he went thru throughout the marriages and such was incredible
Hello again Chris. This was flat out beautiful :-) SO very relatable, no matter what walk of life you come from. No matter how sick and tired you may be, looking at you kids will make it all worth while. Loved this one ! Take care, buddy !
I've always loved eminem music but in 2008 when my whole world turned upside down after losing my daughter I ended up drinking and taking pills to the point I almost died there was no one there for support I started listening to eminem music one night and I can honestly say his music saved my life. I personally think that if people would get past what they think they know about some music and just listen to it their opinion of that artist and their music may change.
The pitch onm the song was slightly adjusted, in order to bypass RUclips's copyright. I recommend giving a listen to it on Spotify! I'm sure your son will be able to hook you up! That way you can hear how his voice actually sounds while singing! It's a lot better on the normal version, so I Highly Recommend it! As always, a wonderful reaction! This song wasn't even supposed to be released, until Dr Dre played it to two of his female friends, and they started crying. After that, he decided it HAD to go on the album! I have commented this below previously, and I'm sure you're getting around to them, I'm sure you get spammed with hundreds of requests everyday, but I''m putting these here just to make it easier for you when you're looking for things to react to! Would LOVE to see you react to these two Eminem songs: Beautiful (This song was made in 2008/2009, around the time he was in rehab). ruclips.net/video/avLxcVkPgug/видео.html Not Afraid (This song was made in 2010, off of his Recovery Album, when he was clean) ruclips.net/video/j5-yKhDd64s/видео.html Both Incredible Songs! I hope you enjoy them. Both songs are the Explicit Versions.
It really is true what our sad bout becoming a parent. I was a teen mum age 17 when my little boy was born, I thought I’d feel like I was missing out on certain things watching my friends go out finish college and start uni. But I didn’t in the slightest because I had this beautiful little boy that completely shifted my perspective on everything. Going from a teenager who’d drink and get high near on everyday to a mum, was a transition that was hard but I’d do it ten times over for my son. He’s 3 now and I couldn’t imagine my life with out him
You hit the nail on the head (for me at least) in that last monologue of yours. I’m a fan of Em and it’s because growing up, even if I was just listening to him on the record, I somehow felt like I was being “understood” or “listened to”. And he gave you that aspirational father figure that you could look up to too.
You’re right about perspective. I heard this song like 20yrs ago and I liked it back then. Now as a father of a 6yr old girl going thru a separation, it hits you totally different. You don’t know until you know.
Marshall has shown that whatever the world deals him, he's going to find his own way through it. He's made his share of mistakes, as everyone does. But in the end he's truly trying to do right. He's never been afraid to be vulnerable just as often as he comes out swinging hard.
I just wanted to say: thank you so much for pretty much reacting to my childhood! I've been watching all of your Em stuff for the past week or two, and I enjoyed all of your reactions and comments. It feels like I am reliving my discovery of Ems' songs.
The reason this song is amazing on a level that I think is just going over your head. Not meaning that your stupid or anything of that sort. He just won custody of his daughter and so the meaning really is intensified in the fact his journey to the happy state he is clearly experiencing is from the victory of having his baby in his life. His singing tho maybe not world class is the world class exuberence of a father receiving the ultimate outcome. From loss to ultimate win. The song has nothing to do with you, it's a song of absolute honesty and a father devotion. I just learnt this myself and so tho I've heard this song many times before this tid bit of info really changed my understanding of what this man is really sharing in this track. Pure 100% awesomeness. To the people that don't like this song. Fair enough.
Man I just LOVE your reactions. It's great to watch someone experience for the first time the songs I grew up on through my teenage years. Especially being from difference generations and seeing your opinion of him develop more with each song. I'd say your son is delighted you're a Stan🙂
Loved your comments at the end of the song! I unfortunately went through some rough times when my oldest daughter was young, so I can relate to him attempting to repair a relationship and explain to her that sometimes life gets in the way but in no way negates the love we have for our children. Doing great now thank God, and yes I’m the parent but his lyrics have moved me through the years through some pretty rough times ❤️.
2:57 LMAO!!!! My new therapist just asked me today if this is why I foster and rehabilitate cats. Usually, they've gone through h*** before I get them. I do everything I can to support them and help them heal, because nobody supported or helped me. (I have an odd sense of humor, so you bringing up the same idea was a funny coincidence lol) 🙏😇
This out of a lot of eminems songs is the most relatable to be. I can relate to the majority of songs as I have been through hell and back with my parents and life. When my ex partner was pregnant with my eldest daughter my life was a mess. I was using drugs and drinking myself to sleep literally 7 days a week. Once this angel came along everything changed I stopped everything and put my mind solely on work and family life. This girl was my light and still is. She knows it too as well now she is nearly in her 20s. She rings me or FaceTimes me everyday or stays with me at my house. She knows she can call at any hour of any day and her dad will be there no matter what. Sorry for the story lol.
Em really does send a great message here. No matter what hardships you're going through your kids are the absolute most important thing. It's not a choice...they are the ONLY option. They are everything! ❤️
Beautiful is def a great song, lmao larry you have sooooooo much to uncover, this is the beginning of the intro alone in the world of eminem and his music
Dude I love how enthusiastic you are when Eminem writes about his relationship with his children. Personally, it’s meaningful knowing that there are parents out there that care for their child this much. I’d recommend listening to “Beautiful” from his album Relapse. It’s kinda in between the time of Cleaning Out My Closet and Headlights. Super meaningful song for me.
Loved this song and loved your reaction. You made me laugh, Chris! Children change you for the better if you let them. Grandchildren are even more wonderful and change you even more. ❤
After seeing that you uploaded this song, i immediately thought of his song "Beautiful" and thought you should react to it. And i see so many others in the comments thinking the same thing. I believe it would resonate with you and you would really appreciate the song. Great videos though Larry, keep them coming because ill be watching.
I've liked and followed Eminem since the beginning of his mainstream career. Which means I definitely was too young for a lot of his stuff in the beginning but oh well xD Anyway, I got REALLY back into his music ever since the Dr. Dre halftime show and have been binging on videos dissecting his lyrics that brought to my attention how much of his meanings I've missed even having listened to all that music carefully myself. It is honestly jaw-dropping how good this man is. Lyrically, technically, creatively, emotionally... in so many ways. I just keep asking myself HOW can someone's brain work on that level? I mean, yeah, some natural genius and lots of hard work, I guess, but it's still unbelievable... Anyway, given what I was watching it was almost inevitable that your videos would get recommended to me at some point. And honestly, I almost ignored it because pure "simple" reactions are not what I was looking for, but I am SO glad I clicked on them after all. We often wish we could experience the things we like for the first time, and it's impossible. But this feels as close to it as it gets. Seeing you open up to this new to you style and build the appreciation for this wonderful man fills me with so much joy and woke up the same intensity of emotions that I myself felt when experiencing it for the first time. I love how genuine you are in these. Thank you for sharing your journey
I actually have always liked Em's singing, I know it ain't technically the best voice around, but he's real, it's raw, you can feel everything he puts into his songs when he's singing. I really wanna see you react to "Stronger Than I Was" It's another singing one, and it's amazing.
Hey man. It’s a joy to watch people go through the journey of this man’s life. I’ve lived it. And I adored the whole journey like you have. He has another side. But that side of wild in him is all about loyalty and love for the ones he loves. Every villain has their own story. And I enjoy even this man’s bad side. He’s a beautiful story teller. And to me the best rapper of all time. Enjoy the rest of your journey
Eminem-Rock Bottom is a great song of what struggles him came from..a song that got me through alot of the same struggles.he shows that there is hope bc if he made it through so can I..
I just love your reactions as they are so pure! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on 8mile! I saw it again a few weeks ago and I had forgotten how good it is!! Although I love Em I can't wait for more NF!
Over the last 2 years or so as music/tv/movie reactions took off on youtube with covid, you are certainly not the first of your generation I found to see new light into who Marshal is by taking the time to listen to his more of his music than what were some of the more popular or controversial tracks. Been really enjoying your journey and look forward to whats to come.
It's so crazy how insanely talented marshall is with his words in music and the media in the music world honestly doesn't give him enough respect as one of IF NOT THE BEST WORDSMITH that there ever was and honestly doesn't get enough credit for his talent smh
He was celebrating getting custody of his daughter! 😁 She is 25 yrs old now and just got her first home! When she was voted Homecoming Queen.. he watched in a separate room on a monitor. Because he didn't want to take anything away from her night! 😁 She is his Number 1 fan! She went to college and made her dad very proud! Him and his ex wife are actually on good terms these days....mainly for there kids I'm sure. She has boyfriend and is making her own way in life. She has learned to live with dads fame and the limitations it brings. He has done everything he possibly could to protect her and his two other daughters! His brother Nathan is married now and hopefully happy with his life! Marshall Mathers has definitely been to heck & back... but he did everything he could to make sure they had a better life! My admiration for him goes way beyond the music he makes! He didn't have parents to lean on or anyone to really be there for him. He has put his heart and soul into his music!
After all the things he rapped about kim on his first 2 albums. The fact she's said he's an incredible dad really shows how much he loves ALL his kids, not just hailie. He's had his issues but he's a quality dad
Hallie now has a podcast which is crazy. She so far hasn't directly talked about her dad but more so the life that is unique to her growing up in that life.

He actually watched her high school graduation on a closed loop tv in the cafeteria just so people didn’t see him and it wouldn’t become about him so his daughter and her classmates could have their day. I appreciate the art and Em as an artist.
Unfortunately, I cannot listen to, 'Kim.'
It's a trigger for my PTSD from a previous abusive relationship.
We need to see it. It must happen. I want to see Larry’s face haha
It's like Stan but turned up a few levels
Than he should definitely listen to "Bad Husband" too afterwards. I think this also is a very underrated song in a similar way to "Headlights".
He needs to have a drink before listening to Kim.
Supposedly this was just a song he was writing to her and was never suppose to be on the album but Dre heard it and said nah its too good. Thank god!

Damn, I was almost in tears.
Wow, thank you for sharing this. I hope you’re doing ok!

I actually think Marshall has a lovely voice when he sings. He is not Celine Dion/Whitney Houston, but he sings well and has a pleasant voice IMO.
👍
Agreed!!!
Fr, hes not a singer which makes it better
He does have a pleasant singing voice, in Beautiful too
My dad was an alcoholic.

LOL..I'm one of those..It's been wonderful watching you open up your spirit to Em...I'm a 57 yr old, retired English teacher...and the first time I ever heard Em was in the late 90's..I was driving and when I got onto a bridge I thought.." The apology for the rambling I think is so funny.
Thanks so much and kuddo's to your mom!

You seem like the nicest guy on the planet. Respect to you man
Wow, thanks Ian! Takes one to know one! Back atcha

A Lot of wisdom, my brother. Once I became a mom, EVERYTHING was done for my son. 100% everything was done for him. Listening now, I get it.
Yea that's cool...I have to work I guess
Thanks so much! Just sad I didn't catch on sooner...
@@larryshair better late than never! Looking forward to your future reactions!
8 mile is a great movie seen it many times
He's singing to his daughter this song is beautiful especially when you have a daughter I love this song so much hits home ❤
Bad Husband would be a really great step forward for the journey youre on. Eminems capacity to paint a mental picture of the situations he went thru throughout the marriages and such was incredible

My son saved my life! If he wasn't born I wouldn't be here today! ❤

Thanks so much!
Happy to listen about your comments about kids! I'm getting my first kid in July, we've tried for 7 years and I cannot wait to hold my baby girl 😊
Congratulations, listen to this song after u have ur child and u will 100% understand how different the song becomes

Glad you reacted to this 🙂👍, great video. Keep them up, more Eminem please 😉
“Going Through Changes” is one of ems best songs about getting through addiction, dealing with Proof’s death, etc

I love your reviews glad they were recommended by RUclips they make my day and make me laugh!! Keep up the good work!! 👽🛸
