Apparently Eminem recorded the first part with no intention of releasing it to the public because he thought it was too soft but Dre played it for 2 chicks in the studio and they cried which made Dre convince him to add it to the album

My top 3 too...
I made some big mistakes in my life and it forced me into this real spot trying to juggle all these things to ensure my son is in my life. When he was young me and his mum did NOT get on. But despite how I felt about her, she was a fantastic mum. And obviously he love her to death. So I didn't want to fight her for him.
As long as I got to see him regularly, I pretty much decided I would do whatever I needed to do to keep them both happy. And it was a real grind. But now its great. I have him every weekend from Friday night to Sunday night and most of the holidays. And she is finally in a poisons where she doesn't need me to pay for her rent and every other expense she has. So I can actually enjoy my life too. But it was about 5 years of me working every hour I could, and having pretty much nothing to show for it.
The sense of relief you get once everything clicks into place is like no other feeling in the world.
Wow! You went above and beyond! Wonderful how you were just making sure your son was in your life! It shows if you really want it work...it will! It wont be easy but you do what you gotta do in the end! I admire your determination and selflessness!!!

@@elerma94 I know many friends in similar positions. It can be really brutal. And society doesn't even seem to care. It is just assumed that the mother is the hero, and the dad is a deadbeat.
I was very lucky that my ex and I had a kind of mutual split. I think if she had have perceived that I had wronged her in some way, she could easily have made my life a living hell.
I still haven't forgiven myself for not being able to make it work with his mum, because even though I got to see him regularly, I was never able to put him to bed every night.
As a dad to an 8 yr my daughter is my everything and anyone who rights a song for their child is just fire
