I worked on offshore lobster boats for much of the 80s.Have to say myself and all the men on the docks looked like Dan,does on this episode. The boats were part of the the lobster fleet in Newport RI. I used to take a cheep guitar and a twenty watt amp out and on calm days I would go out on the big empty deck when there were no lobster traps on board and crank the amp and Play for the Sea Gods. A hundred miles out at sea blasting over the waves. At night with the sky full of stars blazing,it was an almost religious experience. Keep rocking that look Danny. Mick your always inspiring period. You boys are raising the bar. New intro graphic and the Mick chord - and now, playing together right at the top of the show! I love everything, but when you play together, its just the best. Happy weekend to you!
Listening to the show through headphones is an absolute must for getting any idea of what’s actually going on with the stereo pedals, two amps, wet/dry . . .
I guess Dan doesn't need the chorus pedal given he has a flanger, but also the H9 can do different detune style choruses part from the digitally modelled variety that are also on board. Also its lovely to hear you two play together as your styles and strengths are so different, but compliment each other so well. Lets be honest that's why playing with other humans is so great because we are all good at different things. This sunk in more to me when we had our first band rehearsal in 14 months a couple of days ago. Take care guys!
No man, it's not fair. We all struggle with the cables, how did you do it? magic? We need an episode just to show how did you connect/hide the cables! (nice pedalboard)
Just a shout out for the Kingsley Page. I was sceptical for years before I bought it, thinking it ‘wouldn’t do much’. I have the Constable, Jester, Maiden, Page DS...and in the end I got the standard Page. I cannot express how awesome and lovely it is - easily my favourite Kingsley. It’s a pedal I will never ever sell. Honestly it’s such a joy.
As someone who has been gigging for nearly 25 years at this point...I can confirm everything Mick and Dan mention from 57:45 is 100% spot on! Can't tell you how many time I've nearly had my teeth knocked out from mic stand 😂
I’ve been a subscriber for around four years now, and while Dan has never been a slouch, it’s so cool to hear that jam at the end and how he has continued to improve as a player. So many awesome tones as usual- thankful for you guys!
I was doing some work and listening to the intro (in incredible stereo sound btw) and I thought damn Dan’s looping skills have gotten epic, then looked up to see both the boys playing beautifully. Just goes to show how well you two compliment each other!!!
And here I thought Finland has a cold weather even in the summer at times, but I've never considered wearing a beanie in the start of a summer! The outfit looks good and uniform though! I feel like Zenith is gonna become a whole episode, very intriguing studio type routing. Never a huge fan of pitch shifts outside glitchy digitech whammy, but H9 does have that legendary Eventide pitch detune from 80's! The 8 cents (perhaps also 11 cents) detune that Eddie and studio guys loved.
Honestly Dan and Mick, your jams at the start and end of your videos are my favourite part. I’d love and album of you two looping/jamming together while improvising riffs and ideas.

Oh my! This episode is a PhD dissertation in building guitar tone. It's one thing to buy 15 expensive pedals and throw them on a board but another thing entirely to get them working well with each other. Dan's tone here is the best I have heard him in the 1.5 years I have been watching. 💚
Of course Dan had to put the Fez of truth on for the final jam, because, this board produces the Tone of Truth. Amazing board Dan and truly a lesson of what's the point in listening to all of this and being with it if you don't apply it into something you love. On that note, please please please get the Captain to send you guys some of the Coppersounds pedals (specifically the Foxcatcher) - would love to see you guys play through one of them on a show at some point!

Dan, I love your pedalboard. I have strived for years now (and thousands of $$$) since the channel came out, to explore the sounds you guys get on the show. I think you guys have finally reached the point where the pedals on your board have reached an unobtainium level for me. I love it, but I'll have to find pedalboard examples with obtainable pedals to try and find new sounds with. It's been fun watching things progress over the years. Only a minute in and the music is moving!! As I know you both already know, you guys have many fans out here. I’ve been a long-time follower and just want to say to you both how much this show has become a source of great enjoyment to us all.
That pedal show = My Friday zone out time from the world for an hour or so. Thanks guys for all your hard work you’ve put in over the years and keeping the show interesting, funny and informative. Can I ask if we will get another bass show at some point as the last was brilliant. Cheers guys from novichok central 👍
Dan’s on point by mixing 10’s and 12’s. I play live with a 4x10 deville and a 1x12 hrd at the same time and the frequency range is insane. Also used to own a crate vintage club 50 which came with a 3x10 cab. Was huge!
OMG! Dan was going "crazy" and I was LMAO for an hour! Simply because he looked like having a wonderful time every time he played a couple of chords. From my pov clever use of reverb, delay and modulation sets the mood in today's music. Beautiful people expressing themselves✌️☮️ BTW! Really good "jams" you had!
At first I was confused by why Dan was dressed as a deep sea fisherman on shore leave, but then I realised it's to guide us through the ocean of tone.
Yes! Arrrrrrrrrr.
Maybe it’s just a denim style Sam!

Best to you Richard, and all our good wishes for a speedy convalescence!
“You’re gonna need a bigger boat!”
Only a minute in and the music is moving!! As I know you both already know, you guys have many fans out here. I’ve been a long-time follower and just want to say to you both how much this show has become a source of great enjoyment to us all.
That board is very danbient
Hahahaha!!!
Andy Othling - he’s the guy for the Microcosm. Astounding stuff.
Dan’s on point by mixing 10’s and 12’s. I play live with a 4x10 deville and a 1x12 hrd at the same time and the frequency range is insane. Also used to own a crate vintage club 50 which came with a 3x10 cab. Was huge!
Can't help but thinking that Mick is one day just going to say "I've had it with all this" and go straight into a one channel amp and call it a day.
I pretty much only play one-channel amps anyway! Ha! But yes, the pedalboard is definitely getting smaller. :0)
Maybe one of Dr. Z's amps would work... 😉
Congratulations on the acquisition of your new pedal board Dan!
I want an 1:05:16 of that intro playing 😭
Also, double commenting because I had to listen to the intro jam again. Absolutely lovely, 100% absolutely lovely.
Thank you Peter!
Ah, you have an H9 max
I’m still waiting on mine from Thomaan for nearly 3 months
Yes I am having a dig
Hahahah!
OMG! Dan was going "crazy" and I was LMAO for an hour! Simply because he looked like having a wonderful time every time he played a couple of chords.
From my pov clever use of reverb, delay and modulation sets the mood in today's music.
Beautiful people expressing themselves✌️☮️
BTW! Really good "jams" you had!
