I agree, As a Driver out of Charleston SC. We as Drivers will be affected first. I agree with everything Unions stand for as far as labor rights. But yalls main focus should be automation. The inflation this can cause could be catastrophic. The executives will seek to continue their pay regardless of what these guys get paid. How can we counter the greed as a country? This industry isn’t the only one with a massive difference in pay between executives and workers.

Tampa in turn has bloomed with great success and port manatee stuck with low wages and we worked strong when covid hit where's our reward I have a story to tell anybody want to hear it. our Presidentand vice President works another local1402. @@jventura1987youre comparing placing envelopes in mailboxes to standing up on top of a ship in the wind and rain while handling 30lbs lashing bars, etc…? Are those mailmen going into work at 12am or putting in 16 hour shifts? How many mailmen do you know that have lost their lives while doing their job? You have no idea what youre talking about and dont understand the importance of the longshoremen but you may find out the hard way like this video says if the strike happens and the supply chain gets disrupted worse than what you saw during covid when you sat home while the longshoremen went to work everyday to keep the world moving. Maybe a few years ago $39 sounded good but the cost of living has gone up in part due to these shipping lines and container terminal operators that have been raising their prices and making record profits off of the backs of the longshoremen that they have been underpaying the last few years.
