My local news lies regularly claiming food prices are down but what I see is they are still going up, the products are limited and the cost of living is eating into my savings.And i neither have a mortgage or rent payments. They need 70 percent increase. The wages are way too low. Finally union power is working. The ata is not for truckers they are for the corporations. No more cheap freight. If they choose not to work until they get better pay and benefits isn’t how capitalism works? They are not entitled to their labor and if it’s that disruptive to withhold it then perhaps the employer should work harder to avoid a withholding of labor that the workers are not required to provide as slavery is illegal in the US.

Union history is rife with using violence against both employers and workers who still want to work even during a strike. Are u an advocate for violence? Why can’t workers who want to work just make their own personal choice to come in without a threat from organized labbbor groups?
@@dogrum1 My previous employers have made it clear when I have asked for more hours before that they are not entitled to provide anyone with hours or work and make no guarantees. So if they can’t guarantee work why should workers guarantee labor?

I was reading about what the workers wanted from the new contract. The contract ends on Sept 30th, 2024. **They want a 77% increase over a 6 year period. Calculated at $5.00 per hour per year over the 6 years. They stated they have not had a raise since before the pandemic.
**No more automation replacing good workers.
**Asking for a percentage of the container royalties the ocean carriers are receiving. They feel they should receive a certain % since they are the ones that do the offloading of the containers from the ocean barrages.
We definitely will be in a world of hurt in a couple of weeks after the strike. Pray it does not happen.
They will soon get replaced by robots fortunately
