In fact, all 4 border stops have separate names - Ghweifat (UAE), Batha (KSA), Salwa (KSA), and Abu Samra (Qatar).
In the petrol stations in the KSA strip, mostly MADA card (a unified debit card) is the only alternative, if you don’t have Saudi Riyals with you.
Having vehicle insurance beforehand can help skip a few queues.
Downloading Google Maps for offline use is helpful.
Using home country SIM in roaming will be relatively cheaper compared to roaming with Etisalat/DU.
Waze is recommended than Google Maps inside Doha city.
It is better to just worry about the documents required and not about the procedures in detail because you will mostly go through a sequential chain of gates and will not easily get lost.
Night drive through the KSA strip is risky due to no street lights and curvy roads at some points.
It’s always good to dim headlights while at the gates.
Keep only necessary stuff in the car. Customs checking, particularly at Qatar border, sometimes takes time.

This is not clear, per Rta it is a must. I know people are traveling without it as well. Seems rule is there but might not be strictly enforced.
