- Crown Victoria ( Searching For Parts ) STAY FOCUS!.. You have to stay focus when in the junkyard... You can come in for one thing and leave with a car... Its that simple... Coyote engines and 4.6 dohc engines are all over the place just for the picking..
I put about 150,000 miles on a Contour I bought used. I will tell you I loved that car. It's a Ford of Europe that was brought over here and the platform was also the basis for the Jaguar X Type. For that reason you can swap a V6 in, which in a light car would make it massive fun. It drove beautifully, totally confidence inspiring. The SVT version had to be SWEET when in good condition.
really? the chassis is the fwd Jag? never knew that one... Its a cool little car even the plan jane v6 one was NICE and pretty fast... Like you siad a light little car... So t5 speed v6 should be even better... Thank you for sharing this story i enjoyed it
@@bstfordchannel923 yup, I found that out after replacing the battery in mine. It was an unusually expensive battery and a case size also used by the X type. The 2.5L V6 was an option in the Contour. I found out from some forums at the time there were people swapping in the 3.0L from the Escape as a bolt in.
We're channels that motivate people to try something to build something out of nothing to try which is not that appealing to the Mass audience of RUclips always stay true to what you do don't worry about anyting else put out your content and let it speak for itself

I like the channel the way it is. Instead of being stuck on one thing, we see multiple ways things can be done, different possibilities on the same platform, etc etc

BST, you know Junk Yards are our Toy Stores! And I seen that baby blue 1970 F-150 and I bet its got a 302 in it :) But the Mark 8, I'd buy that and the SVT Conture inn a heart beat! and the Black P71?? Why didn't the owner fix the minor damage?? It's both a Shame for good cars to end up Junked.... But a Big Plus Junk Yard Gawgs like us to get the goods Cheap!
Some reason, I'm not finding 04' 05' Grand Marques junked in The Burque! But tons of Vicks, the Messicans drag them out, fix them up and ship them home... to Mexico!
Hey BST it's been awhile but there's a RUclipsr by the name of Old Car Guy is working on a Crown Victoria P71 And he just put out a awesome video about rebuilding rocker panels on a budget, I noticed you looking at that contour svt and I thought I'd pass it on to you.
I’m same way. Got a plan of attack and then get distracted by something with potential and start dreaming about another project car. Just talked myself out of buying a 72 Torino sport.
Your channel is ahead of the curb. There is a strong conformity pressure in the car culture right now especially online. I love seeing different builds and ideas. One of the most overlooked cars to build is the late 90s and early 2000s American cars. I know they were ugly but now they have the real hot rod potential because everything else has inflated in price. You can't even find a 240sx under $5k running. Instead of rwd swapping civics, I'd love to see some RWD swapped grandam or Malibu (early 2000s). Those cars are cheap enough to make the parts and labor make sense. But no one is touching it because it ain't conforming.

@SMR SocMoneyRacing most of the cars of the 90s, cars , now, where front wheel drive and 4 cylinder. Hard to find something worth the wild side.
@@jntcustomcars you're right. Which is what makes builds cool. I seen a potinact grand prix RWD LS swapped. Blew my mind because those came FWD. Seen a saturn with the FWD LS out the impala SS. Seen a ford windstar with a FWD 4.6 out the Lincoln continental. I seen a Pontiac GTP with a turbo instead of supercharger. I'm saying it's okay to do something different because forums and internet keep saying to do the same stuff.

The whole plan was to do all what you mentioned with FWD cars thus why i had to learn ( wiring a swap ) and trouble shooting also ( that part aint easy ) but you get what I am saying....THIS comment was needed and thank you so much for it... I have so many ideas that nobody has done... I am showing the pain and the flip side of the car culture ( with no funds ) but have the passion...
dang that SVT Looks legit . God made you specifically unique, so be the best you and others will follow. I worry about what's popular once in a while, but always happiest when I stay true to myself on my channel. Lately I've got hater comments so I say (thanks for the comment) cuz the algorithm doesn't care if it's - or+ . I like ruffling peoples feathers LOL.

I'm looking at a couple different parts cars. You know how it is when you buy a parts car though, you end up trying to turn it into a run and drive lol.

Hey my brother, hope all is good....have a question, I live in the south where it gets hotter than hell, I changed my oil yesterday in my '05 Interceptor. I put 5W 30 high milage Mobil-1.. I have always used 5W 20. Heard in hot weather the 5W 30 is better? Do you agree?? I value your answer. Thanks.
yes its true you have thicker oil it does nor break down as quick ( in the heat ) as the 5w-20... I use 30 in my Vics its like a summer grade... then use the 5w 20 in winter months brother Greg

it waqs great constructive criticism UNTIL i pushed him to say what he really feels... Cause you can sense the bull... So he let it out ( then he got tender ) I was like wow coming froma guy that got into the car game by Midnight Club ( video game ) .... as a whole it was a crappy car, but the v6 version where pretty good... Wow a 98 or 99 svt contour. I remember training on that when it was new. It's a 2.5 v6 that Porsche had a hand in developing. That was a copy of the British mondeo. You had to be a special svt dealer to sell it and svt certified to touch it. Cool rare car, just make sure that the wiring harness under the hood hasn't turned brittle. There was a recall on the harness, but it didn't really fix it. The underhood heat turned the insulation to dust.
We know how that goes when you don't have the money. Come back with a thousand dollars tomorrow. There won't be a single thing you can use. Lol. That's how it does me lol.

I have a 93 mark 8 up in my field a buddy owns it.. has 100k miles on it, and it’s parked rotting into the ground slowly..been there for 10yrs, wasn’t a rusty vehicle.. has a new transmission , and the was fine.. such a waste .
I worked for one ... They where giving me parts for free or next to nothing..They never had American stuff though ( that part hurt ) Now that is a wste of car but people do that ONLY to say i have one at home ( as it sits ) my brother does that to..Yeah I think it is a 24v svt Contour

My son picked up a clean crown Vic with 78k miles for 17 hundred bucks, was from a good friend.. was an ex border patrol vehicle. I'm not a Ford guy but that car is fun as h*ll to rip around and not care about.
wow NOW thats a GREAT DEAL... The funny thing EVERY car guy no matter the Brand they love... They respect the Crown Vic for what it is... And thats the cool thing... Like I adore the Chevy Nova ( split bumper Camaro ) plenty others but those are just some mean looking cars.. When a car is good looking and tough ( its respected )
One of my fery first cars was a 63 nova. Loved it but would've preferred a 65 nova. Never had a split bumper but that is without a doubt my favorite. Something about that front end that just gets me..

Ok number one issue with you channel ( and the only one ) is camera ... No matter how bad the video content is ( if the video is clean ) people will watch... I had to learn that one and then you go about fixing the content to suit ( whom ever ) .. I went off the pathy of formating the video ( trying things ) You have all the toys and the content video clarity is a big issue we all suffer from

@@jntcustomcars I have one mirrorless camera and i use the cheap $60 camera for the junkyard that works pretty dang good ( but I have a good program ) to make the videos on also.., That may play a part to....

Hey BST I have a question 4.6 2v engine on acceleration at time you have blue smoke smell burn oil. How to test to tell if it's your valve seal or oil ring on the pistons is letting oil bypass?
proper way is compression test if compression is low on certain cylinders then its rings , but if its high on certain cylinders then its valve stems seals do to the added oil increase compession ... I feel its valve stem seals ( to me ) not fact though
love your channell BST. i go crazy when i go to the salvage yard makes me nuts . want to save them all. if i was a little younger, i would have started a business buying up cv to wharehouse, and supply parts around the world. wouldent it be cool if a bunch of youtubers combined funds to do just that. save the cv.. still watching out for that black 96 for you.. very rare as more of these cars are crushed every year.

Hey man, I'm trying to t5 swap my crown Vic... I was told that the t5 I was wanting to get may be too long for my setup... Apparently it's 27" from the front of the trans to the shifter, and the guy I was consulting for information said the shifter may be too far back. I'm thinking it'll be fine, it looks like the firewall is about 28-30" from where I should want to put my shifter. I think it'll sit just right. But I'm asking you, what year t5 did you put in your swapped Vic, and is the tailshaft housing length issue actually an issue? I'm thinking it'll be just fine but I'd appreciate any knowledge you'd be willing to shed on me to help me get this done!

The trans In question is a non world class (probably 80s t5) it's getting hard to find a manual trans for these cars, (I missed the opportunity to get a 3650 a few months ago 😢) I don't wanna miss out again!
Also I'm kinda wishing I lived in the states, tranny prices have gone ridiculous for us panther enthusiasts in the great white north!
Just concentrate on finishing your builds are channels will never do that well because we're not goofy we're not blowing up engines were not burnout kings and queens

Now i have to go deeper to check voltage to sensors plugs thats next...

Well 1 thing I did I TOOk those wheels the tires where NEW-ish and they where goodyear on the steel wheels and cooper on the mags and they where new-ish also
