Curious about that motor, never had one and know nothing about it. What kind of power does it make stock? Reliable, at least as much as the 2v 4.6? Same bolt pattern/layout as a 4.6?

you can also put a coyote in these as the 4.6/5.4 shared the engine mounts. that will wake the vic up.

the bugbear with the auto was no one was servicing the autos after 200k. thats why they died.

My reservoir tank was overflowing and bubbling. My mechanic said it may be head gasket going bad, but i did not want to spend lots of money. I used k seal it stopped bubbling and overflowing only the day that i put it. But after 3 days the symptoms started again. I have 100% plain water in my cooling system. Any help ?

Mr Richard, I have a 5.7 lt1 camaro z28 6-speed, had head gasket replacement, fuel pump, ran good did a local on the way back she died... would not restart, it started later...but she started but, 30min later died... every time she would restart but shut off 30, had a ignition coil replaced, they ran/drove it for hour ..I got her let it run, 40min took her for a test...power etc was there but she did the same 😢 i got her back, too shop... notice fuel filter looks old. As it went up on tow, but don't know...would does it sound like...???

Hey brother, I need to talk to you about my 01 grand marquis when you get a chance. My cross member broke and caused my trans to drop down to the exhaust. It started cutting out a little on my way home that day. It ran and idled perfectly until I cut it off. Now it cranks but won't start anymore. What do you think it could be? Maybe the fuel line got bent when everything dropped down, or a wire got pulled. If I can get it running, I can fix the cross member. I'll give you my email or whatever if you get a chance to talk. Did you ever find the problem? I have a 2003 mercury grand marquis it shuts off after a while of driving and no codes present I switched out the alternator and battery as well as other parts I also took it to an electrician and he said everything looked good but still have the problem and no check engine light on or any other but when it turns off while driving all lights turn off but go away.

Im not sure what you mean about the transmissions being bad? Expedition trans were prone to failure, not the AODE in the Panther. Those will outlive the engine.
