- Leftist journalist turned Twitter troll Keith Olbermann recently went after swimmer and women’s rights advocate Riley Gaines, saying the only reason she lost to trans swimmer Lia Thomas is because she “sucked at swimming,” not because she had to compete against a man. I doubt it. If you look at her original story about what happened, she made it clear that Lia didn't do anything to maliciously make anyone uncomfortable and that it was just a bit shocking that the they tied with each other and to see Lia in the locker room. In fact, she even pointed out that there was another available locker room for Lia to use at the time. She strikes me as a grifter, considering how much she's changed her story, since she started getting paid to speaking against transgender people

She's only trashing transgender people. She's not defending women's rights. Otherwise, she'd also be fighting against the wage gap, against abortion restrictions, unequal dress codes at schools, etc. All she's doing is trashing transgender people in name of women's rights, all because she's getting a lot of money for doing it. And transgender women being women erase women. Women are still women. Just like considering black people to people doesn't erase what it means to be a person. I also doubt you'd be defending her so strongly if you listened to her original interview where she called Lia Thomas she and admitted that Thomas did nothing deliberate wrong

She's a grifter, if you ask me. Back when she was first interviewed about this situation, she made clear that she barely knew Lia and that although it was a bit shocking to see Lia tie with her and in the locker room, Riley did nothing that made anyone uncomfortable. She also explained that at the time, there were no other locker rooms available for Lia to use. Since she's started getting money from conservative sources though, she's changed her story and made it out to be more nefarious than it actually was, just for profit

Amala, as a former competitive mens swimmer myself-placing in the top ten in the nation (in my time). Riley is still a Godess to me. The work and dedication needed to succeed at that level is mind blowing. Up at 4, run, swim (2 miles), and eat. Finish studies and repeat. This is nearly 24/7 and nearly through the whole year. This has repeated itself for most serious swimmers year after year until (and only if you EARNED it) you become eligible to compete at Riley's level. I am outraged that Riley has to say anything in her defense. I am outraged that the so called feminists are silent while creeps like Keith attempt to take anything from Riley. He is just another hater compounding the damage that is being done to her everyday. Enough!! It just breaks my heart.

Men have been saying this was a bad idea from the start. We know men, even transwomen, and we KNEW this was going to end this way and what happened? Women marched along side the trans movement and told us men to 'shut up'. Women, in general, sided with the trans movement and said 'you go girl' to all the transwomen supporting them while ignoring the men who KNEW the competitiveness and drive of men does not go away just because you call yourself a woman. I knew this would happen years ago and so did many of my male friends but no one listens to men anymore, what do we know?

I am a classic old school leftie and a second wave type of feminist in my early 30s and I agree with both Riley and Amala. There are few of us left (no pun intended), but we do exist. It is lonely over here, though, since the modern left is infected by toxic identity politics and victim mentality. To be being a leftist has to do with economy and standing by the working class, not competing in oppression and denying biology.

The amount of emotional and psychological abuse aimed at her, not to even mention the attempt to physically intimidate her is something that women are not as well equipped to handle as men are, however, she realized that no one was going to protect her rights for her, realized she'd have to stand up for herself, got slammed with all this trash and is still soldiering on. Much better than just feeling sorry for her circumstances. This amazing you woman is more than just an incredible female athlete, she's also not a victim, though she's been victimized. She's a champion and crusader for her rights, and by association, the rights of women. This is what a real woman looks like, particularly a real American woman. But the fact that there are also other trans people who are on the Riley’s side, shows that it’s not a fair competition to have trans women in women’s sports, but more a political point. And also if they are promoting that, it should be also true for trans men in men’s sports which is not fair either and should be considered against trans rights but no one from the woke spectrum would address that cause it wouldn’t serve their political agenda!

Miss Gaines is beautiful, talented, intelligent, well-spoken, courageous, funny, but above all she has the one thing trans athletes will never have: an honest competitive spirit that simply cannot be broken.
