Will the frog work with a battery mod? I'm curious about it because the last mod that indicates battery life didn't work with the funny playing DC Jack rechargeable battery that I have.
@@leggomyfroggo thanks a lot! It uses the third pin on the power switch - I assume this is a 5v line. Does this mean I would see reduced power consumption?
I’ve installed the 2.45 backlit LCD kit which uses a TN display. Do you know if the frog would work with this kit? Also, I have the frog power led kit installed too. Will the frogs get along?
Assuming you're talking about the 2.45" kit from CGS, then yes, it definitely works. I haven't measured efficiency for that one, but I suspect it would be a similar story as the FP kit when wired, but can't say for certain. I'll have to take some measurements! And yes! The frogs will definitely get along. You might see the indicators trip at slightly different times, but there aren't any compatibility concerns.
I have a GameboyColor with a Q5 OSD IPS screen, Wire Free Amp, Funny Playing LiPo Battery, Clean Power Regulator and an Everdrive X7. I’ve also changed all my capacitors but the humming noise is still there. Would this Frogulator help reduce the noise?
The unfortunate truth is that there is some noise inherent in the Game Boy Color because it just wasn't designed with high performance audio in mind. Cleaning your power switch might help a little, but you probably won't be able to fully remove the hum.
NGL Chris - you need to stop reading my damn mind. I was JUST looking for a new DC regulator for my GBC (since I am planning on getting a LIPS screen for it soon....ish.
Excellent work! Love seeing the efficiency comparisons
Love it, I just built a gbpp for my pocket color but I’m a big fan of having an inbuilt battery indicator like yours! Good work
Just ordered one for my GBPC build I am doing. Thanks for this!
Dude this is sweet! I’ll be putting one in my personal gbc build for sure
Nice alternative to CleanPower. I'll have to pick some up for my components bin.
Saw the Froggoboy Color on an article, had to see if there was a video, but I couldn't find a video on it.
Can confirm! Frogs are the best
simply... I love them frogs
FROGS ARE THE BEST 🐸
Frogs are pretty neat!
Very nice but when this power regulator will be available on etsy?
Dude I use the pinecil too! Don’t you love it?
The Frogulator helped cure my ED!
lmao
Would this work with the funny playing lipo mod?
It does, yes
Do these work well with oled screen mods?
@@israelzambrano6985 they definitely work together, but I haven't taken any power measurements, so I can't say how that compares.
I just really want to ask. Will the DMG get frogulated?
That doesn't present as good of an aesthetic opportunity, so probably not.

Same deal as the GBC battery indicator. You can replace a couple resistors to calibrate the indicator for LiPo voltages.
@@leggomyfroggo OK Thanks
Hey does this work with the OLED kit?
Yup!

Frog Power 🐸
When you going to have these back in stock?
Gonna be a few weeks, but they'll be back for sure!
Does the brightness control via the contrastwheel still work after this mod ?
No, that requires the -18V rail from the OEM regulator to function.

@LeggoMyFroggo Yup, that's the one! Thanks for the confirmations. Awesome to hear the frogs will get along. Def looking forward to the release!

@@leggomyfroggo are there better capacitors you’d recommend? I used the ones from Hand Held Legend.
