what do you mean by "you can't use the dc jack anymore"? As in, the buttons won't work while charging? Or i just can't charge my gameboy if I'm using the rechargeable battery mod?

I installed these a week or so ago. Agree with some of the other comments, it's a little bit hard to press down, vs the original button feel. You have to fully press down to actuate the button, where usually you can just kind of roll your finger around the d-pad on games like zelda/ pokemon. I like it on the A and B buttons however. I found my thumb hurting after a while just from pressing down harder. The start and select don't really work once i've tightened down the shell, ( works but don't feel the tactile click ). Maybe theres custom buttons that would be made to improve this, or just adding some material to the back of the orignal ones and removing the membranes perhaps.

I was at a swapmeet and saw someone with a couple of these on their table and I just had to learn more. This is AWESOME! I hope more projects like this come along. I am defiantly looking into making one of these for myself. Once again this is just amazing, and you should feel very proud of your work here.

My son plugged a higher voltage adapter on the gameboy. Now it won't turn on. Could it be this problem? Those tiny fuses can be found easily ?

What LED voltage would be most appropriate? My blue LEDs are 3.1V but my reds are 2V

I should have gotten 2 of these as i now realize i have an updated pocket that has no led and now i'd kind of like one in it i bought one for my gameboy pocket color mod but didn't think about my old pocket

The problem I'm having with this mod is that I'm getting a "double click" where the membrane gives feedback, and then you push a tiny bit further to get the actual buttons to click. It's not terrible but it doesn't feel like a GBASP for example. Are there any workarounds for this at all?

i just boght this and are awesome, but they should come with custom buttons to use with it cause reusing the silicon thing on top make it a "double press" feel

What is j4 and j5 on the motherboard?

Honestly, the volume wheel is a deal breaker for me. I can't imagine comfortably playing games where you predominantly use the B button. Part of your thumb would absolutely touch it all the time. Interestingly this was left out in the demonstration and you only show how you're pressing the A button which is further to the right.

Im using a lithium battery is it the same way to install this mod as regular double a batteries

Can we buy ones that are already built? I have tried to do some of the soldering shown in this video and just don’t have time to gain the experience. It is beyond me and I am sure many others who would love to have one of these builds.

This has to be the coolest most practical and most elegant mod I have ever seen. I congratulate and thank you for sharing! In your future updates please don't change the form (at least not much - if you have to) as it is perfect and froggish :-) What you could change in my humble opinion is the volume wheel (put it on the side for example), add the IR as you mentioned and maybe have the option of ordering a back that protects the label/sticker on the cartridge. I am anxious to see where this will go in the future!

I just saw a shot video with this Frogboy and the shape made me fall in love with it straight away! As a noob to the world of modding in general, I'm sad that it is such an advance project to tackle. In any case, maybe I will do one one day when I am more proficient at modding :) Great job!

I noticed you didn't mention anything about the 99.5% scaling when talking about the resin printed shell parts but I assume that is still recommended, yes? And this is just something to put into the notes, not an actual option in the UI or anything like that. I still see folks discussing this in the Discord, so I assume this is still recommended - just wanted to call that out for anyone who's using this as a reference/guide. Thanks!

cool mod and all but for future videos i recommend adding some variety into the music instead of playing the same track on loop because it can get kinda grating lol

its not a wide gbc it is a horizontal gbc/gba sp hybrid. big difference. nice build, looks very comfortable to hold

for a little bit of fun, change the oscillator for a clock generator so you can overclock/underclock your gba a little. perhaps even with a turbo/slomo button where L/R would go on a GBA

I searched the coomments to see if anyone else had mentioned it, but yep, that volume wheel.. Great vid, I have never actually seen hot bed soldering done at home before, making those chip placements look flawless!
