Quick update on this: I found the solution for the flickering I mentioned when the voltage is hovering near the switching threshold, and it requires a minor board revision. That means it will be several more weeks before I can make these and the schematics available, but it will be a much better solution overall.
@@JCuriosity Added positive feedback to the comparator input with a resistor between the output and the input. Has the effect of setting different threshold voltages for high and low power states.
That’s so smart making use of the hysteresis. actually making it latch. And creating your divider circuit on the output to set the battery led switch voltage on your non inverting input and placing your battery voltage into the inverting input
Awesome work man. I have actually been working on something similar and have also built a prototype. It is always cool to see other people that have the same interests and think the same way
This is really cool! I'd love to have this on my Game Boy Color because I plan on using lithium ion AA's and not a battery kit, and lithium ion batteries don't slowly die out so its impossible to tell battery percentage, so this would be really cool to have, when will these restock?
They're in stock right now. Are you planning on using something like Jugees? Because those might not work correctly with the way I have this mod tuned.
So I recently purchased this kit off Etsy and I was wondering how compatible it is with the Q5 IPS screen by Funnyplaying for the Gameboy Color and I was curious if there were any other needed steps for it or if the 2 mods were incompatible
Is there a version that works with the voltages of a Lithium Battery Mod? If not, is that something you are working on? I've been looking everywhere for a solution to adding a low battery indicator to my lithium battery modded gameboy color because the homemade indicators found on youtube are too chunky for practical use inside the GBC Shell
Do you know if you will be selling these again? I missed out :( I did pick up the tactile buttons for gbc and even got some extra boards off oshpark. Thank you for your work I really appreciate it

What did you change to remove the flicker?

This is super cool, I love it :)
Very nice job! Looking forward getting some of those! 😍
That sorta solder paste stuff you use is pretty neat.
Dumb question but what is that heating pad/board you use called? Super handy
MHP30 hotplate! Super useful.
I love this!!!
The pad you soldered to is VCC, not SW1R1, just so you know.
Yeah, I noticed that during editing. There's a note of correction in the top left when I say it.

@@leggomyfroggo I plan on using AA Lithium Ions, still 1.5v, just higher mAh.

No compatibility issues. Just wire the screen kit up to the test points on the mod, or to the vias on the motherboard

Coming back on Monday! Just been waiting on a new load of parts.
@@leggomyfroggo Woo hoooooo!!
I have a game boy just like this and the screen doesn’t look as colourful as urs, does that mean I need a new screen or is it urs like a mod?
It's an aftermarket backlit screen. The 2.45" kit from Cloud Game Store, if I remember right.
