I like the idea of the King Alien creating a counter cast to the Queens, like an ant war.
Now there is an idea! Kings emerge when multiple Queens/nests are present. The giant Kings purpose is to destroy the enemy nests' Queen. At least it doesn't contradict the comic.

Looking through the comic scans, it looks like the human was spared because he wasn't perceived as a threat? If that's true the Rogue Xenomorph seems to have a similar personality to the Predator - it won't fight anything that appears helpless.

DunkeyKung Perhaps they used behavioral conditioning in order to make it act a certain way vs humans or other xenomorphs. I think actual genetic engineering had little to with its behavior towards humans

Yeah, that drawing(?) at 3:25 reminded me why I've always felt the xenomorph from Alien3 was the coolest designed one out of the whole series. The sleek head and silver teeth just look bad ass.

People need to open their minds a bit more the whole purpose and reason for the alien king is to not breed or mate with the queen its designed to be by her sides at all costs to ensure her survival that's why he's heavily equipped with the intents to kill its victims. if the drones and warriors have failed to impregnate their opponents on the battlefield and leave the hive vulnerable the king would be the ultimate line of defence to ensure that nothing gets past

This is why I am still in love with the Alien franchise. We've just seen a really informed, well made video of the Alien King, which is still terrifying, but if it was another franchise, a more common creature wouldn't be as scary, in comparison to the more powerful being. However, even in comparison, the standard Xenomorph is still terrifying!
I would love to see an movie with the Alien King but I want it to win, especially against its masters. I guess what I'm trying to say is I want the Rogue Xenomorph to be the protagonist instead of the antagonist and breaks free somehow and becomes the actual king it should be and mates with a queen Xenomorph or something

Id like to se it re written to be natural but extremely rare and not normally part of the hive. Like a male bee or ant. I would like to see it be more of a solitary creature that is drawn to a hive via pheromones or w/e from the queen and then maybe hunts every thing it can find to bring as food/hosts to the queen. Maybe a queen would only "call" out to males if her hive was close to extinction, or she needs to be re-fertilized to produce more facehuggers.

I would enjoy a quote on quote rival aliens species to be presented in the movies. As challenges to aliens/xenos have failed, with that being said maybe a rambo xenomorph against the rest would be great.

Katy Bee There are kings among bees. They are larger than the sterile male drones, but are still much smaller than the queens. He keeps nearby to the queen to service her reproductive needs, & is treated as royalty by the drones, also being fed & tended to.

The King Alien is a cool concept! I liked that it was a weapon against the hives, but I felt that it was lack-luster when it was off'd by a queen. I think that if they did do a movie, it should stay as a bioweapon creation and that it actually has destroyed a couple nests and is a seasoned queenslayer. But make it to where it does die due to aging, or a mutation, or maybe make it too big for its britches and starts to turn on the creators. Or make it to where they do a King Alien 2.0 that is more effective at killing queens.
I think it would be cool if there is a King Xenomorph. It would be the perfect excuse to answer a question that SOME people MIGHT be asking about the series.
One question would be WHO or WHAT protects/feeds the Queen Xenomorph when shes laid up putting out face hugger eggs for what might be her FIRST hive.
Take the first Alien movie and the prison planet Alien movie. Both movies had ONE alien terrorizing the humans each.
So if the Xenomorph in the first movie hadn't been killed by Ripley, what would have happened afterwards? It wasn't a queen, and it was stranded on a space ship. Would it evolve into a Queen later on in order to make the next generation of xenomorphs or evolve into something else? Or simply DIE on that ship alone with no queen or hive to serve?
Prison planet movie, once again a lone xenomorph on a xenomorph free planet going on a rampage killing all the humans except Ripley since she was 'pregnant' with the next queen. Same question as with the first movie xenomorph alien. If Ripley hadn't been 'pregnant', what would have happened to the lone xenomorph once all the humans were dead? It wasn't a queen, so unless it was going to evolve into a queen to repopulate the prison planet with the next generation of Xenomorphs, what would have happened to it IF Ripley hadn't been pregnant with a queen.
Wouldn't a queen xenomorph who doesn't already have a hive be completely helpless on its own? Especially once it grows that giant egg sac and becomes immobilized unless she tears it off. Maybe thats how the Predators manage to catch queens that they breed to use on their offspring on their hunts is when the queens are still SMALL and alone with no drones around protecting it. When she becomes immobolized by the egg sac and has no drones YET, who takes care of her needs like food and other stuff a growing pregnant xenomorph queen needs?
The queen needs a small army of drones to protect her when shes 'vulnerable', or at least needs a KING Xenomorph whos just as big as she is who can help fight off incoming threats until the drones are born. Maybe thats what the lone xenomorphs evolve into King Aliens if there isn't a Queen already around for them to evolve into instead.
Angela Nebedum You actually asked some intelligent interesting questions there. I'd love to see some of those questions answered in a future movie, not having anything to do with "Mad Scientist" stuff. The mad scientist explanation would be a really lazy way to "explain in" the King alien imo. As for different, fresh, and new locales, I don't see much of a choice other than more space stations/ships, more earth action, or more new planets.
Maybe an entire movie set in zero gravity and the vacuum of space?...

well angela the queen face hugger carries 2 embryos so it would use 2 hosts so to answer your point to alien 3 their was 2 aliens one the queen inside ripley and one in the dog the reason why the dog burst first it is called a runner btw is because its needed to clear the threat and build a nest so the queen can safely grow and start producing chances are the runner would evolve into a queens guard witch is a pretorian if thats how you spell it lol that would protect the queen and also gather hosts for impregnation once more drones are born they would in turn gather hosts for more and so the cycle continues but the king was designed to eradicate the xenomorph but failed as the queen killed him. ok if ripley wasnt impregnated and you just had the runner one of 2 things will happen either it would build nest and collect 2 or 3 hosts and transform them into face hugger eggs as what brett on alien was becoming and then evolve its self into a queen the other would be to evolve and start laying then the face huggers would hatch and go find hosts job done if you watch the movie read the comics or the books its all there hope this helps :)
Well, to answer your second paragraph, this was addressed in a couple of the novels. It would have metamorphosed into a Queen given some more time. Queens emit a combination of pheromones and subtle psychic signals that suppress this metamorphosis in nearby drones. So, when killed, those signals cease and one of the drones will change. This is actually what started the chain of events that made Earth uninhabitable.
The Queens also affect the minds of living things around them, subtly drawing them towards the nest. In humans this can often manifest as some pretty wicked nightmares that steadily drive a person insane. There's no doubt in my mind that Newt was plagued by them nightly. Probably part of the reason she was so feral when they found her in Alien 2. A couple more months of it and she would likely have wandered into the nest of her own volition.
There was also something very similar to the "King" Alien idea in one of the AvP games. Not the FPS ones, but there was an RTS Aliens Vs. Predator game. Tons of fun, used to have it for Xbox, though some asshole stole it before I was able to beat the damn thing... Loan a game to a friend for a weekend, and one of his other "friends" steals it.
Anyway, essentially a facehugger egg was able to gestate into a "pure" xenomorph. This is much different than a "Qeen Facehugger", which is a hatched Facehugger that's been around a long time.(They grow and eventually start producing multiple eggs.) In the game it was a lot of time and resources, but I assume that in a real xenomorph nest it would either be a rare occurence that just happened from time to time, or somehow directly influenced by the Queen. They were basically infertile Queens. They had the size and power, but their head crest was more streamlined and I'm 85% sure they didn't have the smaller set of arms either.

Angela Nebedum first off forgive me for saying this but you sound like a confused imbecile. And second to answer your questions there's 2 types of aliens pure breeds: they start from a pretorian egg which then hatches to a pretorian face hugger then turns to a pretorian chestburster then a pretorian alien once it's full size the pretorian can evolve to 3 larger species so far ( the queen, the carrier, and our beloved RAVAGER which some idiots call alien King).
The second type of alien that does most of the working are called transbreeds transbreeds start off from a normal egg laid by a queen then hatches to a normal face hugger after wards the alien that it grows to depend on the type of host its born from for example the predalien which is a normal alien born from a predator host, the runner which is smaller and slightly dumber and its born from mammal predators like lions korns dogs etc.... Trans Breeds are giving that name because they heavily rely on the DNA of their host, pure breeds will always be born a pretorian EXCEPT FOR ABNORMALS!! ABNORMALS are as the name says abnormal like the alien King, the hybrid, the predalien pretorian. Thaws three are called ABNORMALS by humans and abominations by predators.
To answer you final question: what happens to aliens when they get old? well they evolve and eventually decay drones can sometimes evolve to warriors then warriors evolve to curved warriors then they decay but it takes a really long time for that to happen. As for pure breeds like the queen she turns to an impress however she doesn't decays after wards because for a queen to decay it takes a really long long time to happen.

Me too. I would find it terrifying if the Alien, bursting through an animal that has chameleon abilities, takes on a form of invisibility. BADASS scary shit. You could walk right past it and not notice it until it moves. It's so badass already right? So the horror of being so outmatched.
Imagine the Marines hunting an injured one down, they see the acid eating away at the floor. Then suddenly inches away it becomes visible as it disappears in to an air duct. That would make me loose sleep.

That could work, from what we've observed from the movies the warriors usually have some kind of leader that's smarter and/or stronger, in AVP it was Grid, a singular warrior that was capable of taking out 2 predators on its own, the first in a stealth attack, and the second after a brutal battle.
In the AVP 2010 game, specimen 6 was far stronger than the others, beat 3 predators, one of which was an experienced elite, and received orders directly from the queen.
So it's really entirely possible that the Praetorians would have a similar structure.

I love the details in the carapace where you see the green translucent window you can Clearly see the spinal Colom that ultimately connects to the skull behind the xenomorph face. The true horror lies behind the artisitic creation. That fact that these things have human features / half human yet so unhuman is insane.
They need to expand on Aliens. This has been the first design of a alien that I like.

yungbock the reason the king was made was to slaughter queens and other casts of the race... it's a genetically designed weapon made to kill its own species. So no there is no "every queen needs a king" thing to go with because that was never the purpose of the king being made. Nathaniel Hughes what we consider gender, is 2 lifeforms of the same species carrying half the collective genome within each other, see, here on earth, no sentient lifeform is genderless, the only none sentient lifeforms that are asexual is the jelly fish. even plants have a male and female parts. so the alien queen, being female makes a lot of sense, considering, it needs some other form of organism to complete the genome it carries. in aspect, all drones and queens, would be indeed female. it can not procreate on its own, is evident that it has a gender. it must have a collective DNA from another. humans are the only species on this planet to have 23 sets of chromosomes which makes us idea suitors for the alien queen.... in all of the series, that they are choosing human hosts they must also obey this natural law in order to adapt to our environment otherwise, the alien species would just die off after the first generation, which comes to my second thought, the facehuggers, might actually be the male counterpart.... in that thought, its the males that create the eggs, and the female is the result of human DNA. the queen is only creating the facehuggers. but even then, it proves that the xenomorphs have a gender.

The rogue xenomorph would be a nice addition to the franchise however DNA splicing should be avoided for good ! It could possibly be introduced in a spin-off movie as you mentioned which involves some sort of refinery ship that unknowingly came across a xenomorph-infested planet where this beast basically wreaks havoc.
it would be kind of cool if they could go into the different breeds of xenomorphs in a TV show form, maybe like a 12 mini-series, you know make it a journal log or some sort of day-to-day thing between scientists and the aliens.

Only in the expanded non-canon lore and games, there are no Praetorian's in the movies, though there could be other castes as evidenced by the cranial ridges seen in Aliens.

hell yeah i would love a king zenomorph
My idea: After watching "Predators" I noticed the predators took the cast of humans to their planet to basically to go on a 'safari" sort of hunt. But what made really interested was at the end with all the crates or cages falling to the planets surface. I wanted a TV series exploring both the Xeno and Predator "civilizations"(?) and showing the humans finding new people and surviving, trying to find a way off the planet. This is how the various forms of the Xenos could be introduced to fans and how to further explore the universe an other alien cultures. but show it from the humans' perspective as theyre merely trying to survive.
Want the Xenomorphs to Join together every where.

I would love to see an Alien king in a movie where Engineers are the ones tweeking with xenomorph DNA in order to create a xenomorph that can be trained and used to wipe out all other xenomorphs that have infected their planet. Which ultimately they lose and all engineers are killed, then 2000yrs later David and Shaw show up after leaving LV.223.......
I feel like if they added king xenomorphs it would make a lot more sense. Xenomorphs colony structure are based a lot on ants and bees, since it’s based on that the queen would have to mate to store large amounts of sperm in her. Which queen ants have stored somewhere in their body to make eggs. That’s where the king came come into place, without him the queen has no sperm bank, leading to no eggs.
xenmorph king would make an awesome jurassic park moment where he destroys the xenomorph warriors that attack the protagonists, he then roars majestically as a weyland and yutani banner flies over him. end credits

Nope - they're the workers in social insects. Male bees (drones) do nothing useful and get their heads bitten off every autumn so they're not a useless drain in the hive during the winter. The Queen is fat in termites and ants, but hardly lazy - she's an egg-laying machine.
@@RupertDBayer thats only in one species of of bug, wasp, because ants, bees, and wasps, all evolved from wasps, and in other species, males work hard to hunt for food, and have to work really hard in some cases to mate without getting their head bitten off. Some insects, the females do nothing but mate and live off of the male.

I would love to see the King Alien in future films. Since I've been watching The Alien Movies from 1979, it would be interesting to see the the Alien and Human DNA Hybrid Alien Warrior Cast. Also, Thanks to the Alien King for ignoring us humans(about time we catch a break from being an incubator for the Alien Cast).

the rogue/king xeno is an interesting idea and I'd love to see that on the big screen but like you said I'm not sure people are really ready for something like this.

Probably the 'Newborn Xenomorph' since it easily crushed the Genetic Queen's head. The one with Ripley's DNA. But that's just my assumption. Xenoborgs might've been stronger with their cybernetics and weapons.

The Queen Mothers. In terms of size, they are to Queens what Queens are to drones. They're also far smarter and are capable of controlling much larger hives.

I want to see them implement the King in a future movie by having the main cast hear giant foot steps and one person says "it's gotta be the queen" then the main character says "no... It sounds bigger" just like they did in JP3 just saying that would be awesome
I believe the purpose of the king even since it's first creation was meant to be a tool of pure shock value, and he is very good at doing that, I believe the best way to introduce him would be a scene where the good guys, or well humans are in a state of beliving they are winning, than boom this guy comes.
I think the Rogue/Alien King might end being in the new Neil Blomkamp Alien movie that ignores Alien 3 and resurrection and instead builds on and continues where 1986's Aliens left off, that movie would be prime for the Alien King to appear being introduced.

You forgot to mention that they actually planned to show at the end of Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem how a war was going on between Predators and the King Alien on the Xenomorph homeworld.
What if a Queen emerged from a Predator? That might be cool.
The Predalien in AVPR was stated to be a juvenile queen by the production team - hence its weird egg-facerape ability.
Literally all Xenomorphs have the potential to become Queens. In the absence of a Queen, the Praetorian (Royal guard - like a queen but smaller) excrete royal jelly which slowly changes it into a queen. The same thing happens to basic Warrior Xenomorphs in the absence of anything higher in the hierarchy.

The planet is overrun by xenomorphs of both human and predator origin. When the ship carrying the King lands, the military research teams lose control of it, and it escapes them before they can give it orders to find the planet's Queen, but it doesn't kill any of it's human creators. The researchers are able to track the King via an implant and orbital satellites. The ship they landed with is damaged and can not lift off, so they call for aid to get off the world. . The military team stands ground defending the ship from constant alien attack, and on occasion the king appears and slaughters a large majority of the attacking xenomorphs. Researchers are pleased that the king is staying close and fighting, but it's appearances are not enough to keep the xenomorphs from killing a great number of heavily armored marines during their assaults at the ship; killing some, capturing others for implantation.
Eventually A military ship responds to the call for aid and deploys around the research facility to protect it, as the researchers decide to remain on world to observe king in action. The commanding officer refuses but must follow orders from up high.
Over the course of the film we see bits of the xenomorphs chasing the king, and the king killing the low level xenos. At somepoint the king finds a nest, and rushes in blindly. Wounded by the sheer number of xenos inside, the king retreats to the ship. Researchers demand the marines to let the creature enter the fortified area. They then decide to send a team with the King into the nearby Queen's nest and hopefully calm the area of the xenomorph aggression, realizing that the queen keeps sending the aliens to attack because of territorial control. With the queen dead the workers would have no leader. A team of marines, knowing its suicide, agree to follow the king and help it kill the queen. They make it to the nest without trouble, and then realize that the queen's troops are inside defending the nest. They fight through hordes of xenos using advanced weaponry and armaments, and begin to bomb the nest, but the king runs inside the nest, and they are forced to stop shooting and go into the nest for close combat. King is killed by the queen before the soldiers can get inside. The team retreats to their vehicles and resume bombing the nest. The queen is killed in the explosions. Returning to base, victorious, and with parts of the queen and king as evidence for research, they are attacked by a different horde of xenos. The soldiers are caught unawares and slaughtered. The researchers determine, to their horror, that they had most likely killed a weaker nest, which explained why the xenos were so heavily fortified within the nest. With the weaker queen dead, the stronger queen sends her xenos to assault the ship with an even stronger force, with no fear of retaliation from the dead nest. A small battallion of soldiers manage to escape the onslaught upon a drop ship, fleeing the world and request orders to destroy the site. They are order not to and their ship's auto matic pilot engages, and the atmopshere is vented, presumably from a nearby W-Y space station that had observed the entire event.
The distress signal sent out early is picked up by a mercenary band of Predators returning from a hunt. They recognize the human frequency and the world it's coming from. They prep to attack, for glory and honor." END

The best possible story line I can think of would be for an AvP movie in which the Predators engineer the King Xenomorph as a superior trophy to hunt; it escapes containment and encounters a human expedition. All hell breaks loose. . .
In AvP 2010 (video game) we can see there are no king xenos, as 6 turns into a Queen alone. Or am i wrong?

Watch the video. The King isn't naturally occurring. It was created by humans in an effort to fight xenomorphs on their own terms.
That has never been stated nor shown in any source material though there have been "male" Xenos in these sources. However, that is not enough to suggest what you imply, if anything all Xenos "take" the gender of their host keeping in theme with them taking qualities from the hosts. Also no it is not like a bee hive honestly the Xenos share many similarities with all types of insects which actually makes it hard to definitively claim what they are and how they act.

It's common knowledge to anyone who ever read any of the novels, watched the movies and had a functional brainstem that all xeno's besides the queen, does NOT have a sex.
They only need one female to reproduce, and so far within the canon, they've never need a male to do so.
First the novels are not a go good source of info because of how contradictory they are to each other. Secondly the movies themselves do not provide any info on this, just because something is not shown does not mean it can not be brought into the fold. Apparently the canon has just been changed by both Legacy and Sideshow, well that is what the Alien king's description tells.

That's how I always felt. I think the Problem is Fox doesn't think that much of it and basically lets Ridley Scott dictate everything and he generally thinks the expanded universe stuff is dumb. Hopefully we'll see more exploration of the universe on film at some point.

If I were to make a pitch for how this king could fit into the universe, I would recommend a movie about the xenomorph home world in which the xenos have evolved to a point where hosts are not needed and the king is now part of the reproductive cycle, protecting the queen (or queens) within his territory similar to lions. Then when people show up they find themselves in a serious shitstorm of hungry and aggressive alien predators.

We've already seen Alien DNA splicing... in every single Alien movie. The creature from Alien as well as well as the soldiers from Aliens were both breed from humans and typically walked upright. The Alien from Alien 3 was born from a dog (or ox in special edition) and was more quadrupedal in nature as well as demonstrating different tendencies (like playing with its food). Then there was the horrible Alien Vs Predator Requiem which gave us the Pred-Alien, again without the need for "genetic engineering". The only Alien that can be linked to direct human manipulation in the cinematic world is the Newborn from Alien Resurrection... although with what we've learned from Prometheus ALL ALIEN TYPES are engineered!

a king is pointless bcuz of the social cast system of xenos is more like that of ants and not people. plus you said it was designed to kill the queen and more or less ignores humans so any movie from this would just be xeno vs xeno with humans caught in the middle which i think would be boring.

The Xenomorph has to be the most brilliantly crafted monster ever created... think about it... the possibilities are endless, the level of creativity and room for expansion is staggering. Ridley Scott created a creature with infinite longevity. If it breathes, a Xeno can be born from it.

It would be cool if in a future movie, an actual King Xenomorph (not one made by humans) finds earth and tries to ask for our help in taking back control over the Xenomorph species from the Queen. I get that the King probably would not like the humans very much, but they would share a common goal of exterminating the Queen Xenomorph.
