Not much reason not to! The R/T is a total parts-bin special of Dakota and Ram parts, so absolutely everything is available in massive quantity. You could refuse to put oil in your R/T, get a new engine everytime you blow one, and it'd still be cheaper per mile to service than a 911. Lol

I always struggle with doing mods to cars I own because I think of how hard I've been searching for a truck that isn't completely ruined by idiocy. So, outside of putting bluetooth in my cars (and keeping the original radio stored away, even if it's messed up) I keep them original. I always love seeing others do it, as well.

If you must do anything, make it super subtle looking, and so it can go back to 100% stock easily
(It would be hard to resist making it louder as this is true music, not these goofy sounding things today with fake pops and backfires. That’s a tell tell sign of who is and isn’t an actual car person. Never met an real car person that actually likes those hilarious fake pops and bangs 🤣)

Pristine interiors too, though in a decade they will be worth 30 grand even for a used one just like those old early 90s Ford and Chevy pickups today. For some reason the only car markets to appreciate are supercars and shitty 30-40 year old pickups.

Funny, I figured Tyler for exactly the guy that would slap 20's on his truck in high school. I feel like we have very similar taste in cars. I had an old black Buick Riviera with a 5.7L V8, red vinyl interior and flames painted on it in high school. I would drive it today if I still had it, those cushy bucket seats, cloud like ride, and pinky finger light steering meant it was the most cushy, leisurely driving car I had ever owned, and I've owned a Cadillac DeVille.
But for the guy putting bus seats in his Ferrari, the 20's off a Dodge Ram is not a stretch.

I managed to look shocked and asked why...he said you’ve been gone for 5 minutes and we’ve had 3 calls. We left without saying another word. The only way I can sell Dakota's are if I lift them and put big all-terrain tires on them. For the pure nostalgia of it this makes me jealous.

This is good news. Original owner of a '01 CC R/T. I've heard there were less than 300 made in my configuration, something like 1600 total in 2001.

I had a 2002 black extended cab R/T as my first vehicle . Bought it used with 20k miles and I drove it until I unfortunately wrecked it with 106k miles on it. I really miss that truck and the how fun it was to drive. Definately one of the most under appreciated vehicles Dodge ever built.

Had a 98 Dakota for a couple of decades and it lasted 400,000 miles. Best truck I had.

You should get something to protect the bed and just drive it like a truck.

I got a 2001 dakota sport with the 3.9 v6. I love these trucks and always wanted an R/T one but never could find one. It is good to see someone else that loves these trucks. These trucks are awesome to me.

@@Boatfisherz1 I bought a brand new 1996 Dakota Magnum V6, the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. I had a Chevy S10 with a 4.3 liter V6 before it which was more powerful and more reliable.

I had a 2002 quad cab with the 4.7! It ran and handled great especially for a truck👍. My job had me traveling almost 170 miles a day round trip and Dakota got less than great mileage so, with 216k miles, I traded it for a car that got 40mpg. I never had any problems with the truck! Had it for 13 years. Really miss it😢

20 years later, car collection got bigger, but your shoulders got smaller 😁
