Warren Haynes is that comfortable jacket that you reach for any time you're going out. It's wonderfully aged and under appreciated until you put it on and wear it. It's the jacket that works in any season and with any clothing you have on. This man is a badass. Thanks Warren
Confirms my settled opinion that Phil & Friends is the best GD survivor band. Phil still kicking it at 84 (birthday: March 15th), with somebody else's liver. AMAZING!!! Same old Capitol Theater where I saw the Dead live, repeatedly, starting in 1970.
Man I was so lucky, living there in Englishtown, right behind Raceway park, the dragstrip and the Summer Nationals. Got to party with many a rocker. Best of all, got to get in free and into the pits, get close to the needles and funny cars. Dead was always a heavy ticket. Steppenwolf was montrous and very much humble all to hang around. Rockers and greasers we had it tight!!!
Wow. First set was really good. Second set was pumpin. Amazing Improv going on throughout the night. It was just like the old Q days! They had the entire Cap loving every minute of it and it was well deserved! Warren was absolutely in the zone singing his ass off. It's always great seeing Warren and Jimmy playing together. Two different guitar styles that fit so well together. It was wild. Definitely sounded like they've still been regularly playing together it was so great. Smokin jams that had everyone floating along. It was beautiful!
Put my 2 favorite guitarist together add the best low end ever with some Rob and Molo......Man what a brew of just finely blended tunes you can ask for....a Night to remember! Happy Bday Phi
I agree. To remember how he convinced Phil to play bass for them when he had no prior experience. The world needs more friends like that. Their lives changed forever. Proud Jerry for sure
@@ajwilhelm No, you’re right. OK I will transfer the blame to the editor. Phil is doing some neat stuff that would’ve been nice to watch. Sometimes in videos they are too oriented to the singing. I have about 400 videos that I shot personally at shows, on my channel. Most of them on my camera with a fairly good zoom. When I rewatch them even 12 years later, I sometimes feel like my eyes are following the action points of the music.
Oh, how I wish I could even approach this level of old time R+R. But you gotta let one solo go at a time boys! That said, these gotta do them, been at it a long time.
O Philllllllllllll O philllllllllll thank you I realy needed this musical lift now i feal much better Rember coconut grove and the dinner key motel back in the seventies those were the days
I love jam bands, grew up listening to them. Seen the Grateful Dead many times in the 90s. But these intro jams sometimes are a bit like an orchestra tuning up lol. I’d be looking at my watch like, alright boys, you sound like you’re all in the same key, hit it! lol. Also, sounds more like Dear Mr. Fantasy than Shakedown.
Rip Phil. Thanks for everything 💕

Oh yeah like Stevie [Wonder ] is Blind Faith .Not ! Stevie Wind Wood one wonder . Thanks for the Date , You Ess !
I saw The Dead 2009 Rothbury
2 great sets with Warren Haynes. Great iterations abound! Furthur was pretty tight!!! 💀
Don’t forget about when Haynes was in the Dead
Fare thee well, Phil. Rest in peace
You helped a lot of people, Phil.
Phil is a total legend. Thanks for keeping great live music going all these years!
I was at this show. Such a great band. The Q is my favorite post Grateful Dead Grateful Dead.
All day they kill it back in 2000 whooooo
Dude, this isn’t just any old Shakedown. Over half of this video is arguably the best Dear Mr Fantasy I’ve ever heard. Don’t sell the people short!
1000. ❤🎉😊 The best part is that I missed 2nd set for a Spiritual Journey@
Unless you’ve seen Mr Winwood do it.
I saw Brent's last fantasy, and the last time he played the weight, you can't say this is better...
Happy birthday to me! Thanks you for a real good time!!!❤❤❤❤❤
Today is Phil’s birthday. And happy belated birthday to you
RIP Phil. Great bassist till the very end. Time to jam with Saint Jerome Garcia and the angels.
Thank you Phil for all of the many joys you have brought to me and all….Tom

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉 &

Phil always finds the best talent, but it’s good to see the A team back!…
The Q team
Kimock = A+ Team
Boys on 🔥. No doubt.

good Lord that Warren solo on Shakedown was PHILthy
Thank you, RELI X. What a treat.Warren and Phil
I always thought The Capitol Theatre was the best place to see The Gerry Garcia Band, and it's just as good for The Phil Lesh Quintet.
This is the lineup right here just like 2000.
Anything to take us out of this blue.... This darkness gotta give... my STARs!
Til the mourning comes...
Still after all of these years.
You fellas are keeping it all classy. I miss being there with you….Tom
This is such beautiful music my God.
that rug really ties the room all together
Grazie di ❤Phil& Friends.quando in Italia???🖐️
Warren's voice just gets better.
This should be renamed “jam < dear Mr fantasy < shakedown” 😂
Such a pleasant surprise
Happy Birthday Phil!
Thanks! Intro sounded like Yess, as some of the solos. Best post Jerry band!
100% agree...this isn't some D&C cover band at the sphere
Thank you Warren.
It was beyond an honor to be at these shows. I am so thankful for the opportunity to attend ❤
What an amazing Shakedown Street!
Excellent ❤
Herring!
Outstanding
Mr Fantasy 🎉.. Jerry would approve ❤
Jerry would be super proud!!
I agree. To remember how he convinced Phil to play bass for them when he had no prior experience. The world needs more friends like that. Their lives changed forever. Proud Jerry for sure
@@gregoryswift9573 Totally. Plus, Phil would look silly with a trumpet trying to lay down the groove! 🙂
Nice to Phil playing at the Capitol
Great jam man wish I was there 😎🍷😻
Fantastic stuff gentlemen
Would kill the cameraman to put the goddamn camera on Phil for a couple of minutes? 😂
Or Warren to tone it back a bit and let us hear something from Jimmy without him wonking over everything...
might be someone other than the camera op who makes those choices ;)

You guys in the USA are so lucky to be blessed with such talent - its a bloody waste land here in GB
Move out here lol I live in New England but am about to move southwest to greener pastures
Always shake a few hands @ The Cap.: Best Venue in known universe. Best Heads ever!!!!!!!!!❤🎉😊 23:55 Warren 😃 zzz!

18:24 Shakedown Street.
Thank you for your efforts with the timing. 🎶✌️
Nice! I’d call it “The Warren Haynes Quintet” myself😘
Happy Birthday Mr Phil-o-Watt.... NYE shows 2001 @ Kaiser in Oakland
Awesome show
Into eternity 💙 ... ♾️ ❤
Perhaps the best version of this epic song!
Apart from Stevie’s original!
I’m assuming you’ve never seen the Grateful Dead.
@@John-je3yg Heh John: I think my comment was related to Dear Mr. Fantasy.
@@glynnwadeson5605 saw Traffic in 1972 and Mr Fantasy was awesome - better than this version. I think I was in a mood where anything sounded great!
@@John-je3yg heh John what do you think was the Dead’s best version of Mr. Fantasy?
PLEASE come down south! You know, you all never played Macon, Ga, Warren knows where we are....
Turn Phil up, please? What's the point if I can't hear Phil?
Are you listening on a phone? Never good for hearing the bass)low end. Try some ear buds. The mix is actually quite good.
@@HenryDionne-rq8hl No, I'm listening in my recording studio! My subwoofer is picking up an overpowering kick drum and not much Phil!
Warren is a beast man.
Ps thank you for airing it on utube
Frickin' awesome!
Thanks so much Fantastic❤❤🌹🌹🚌🚌⚡⚡🎇🎇

Shit howdy! Good stuff! Yes buddy!
Other the first three minutes of nothing happening, this was great
At the 19:03 ish frame I thought that was Uncle Bobby Weir for a second 😅
Go Warren
At 12:19 I swear that's Bob in the front row.
I don‘t hear Shakedown Street. Can anybody tell me at which minute this number starts?
18:24
@@firstlookpreview Ooh, thank you

Let’s everyone play at once.
Who is Jake?

playing 1.5
I rather buy a ticket for this show/group long before I'd pony up for anything from Dead & Company.
