Life changing and brilliant!! These types of doors are made by the devil and probably account for many divorces!! Thank you for sharing this.

Haha I definitely agree, they can be a real pain at times. Thanks for watching!

@@Jandmrvrentals I have searched everywhere for the screws that you used. Can you give me the size as I may be hearing you incorrectly?

@@teachandtravel3715 I apologize for the mix up. On the video I misspoke, they are actually #8x 3/8 pan head rv screw. I tried to include it in the description as it wouldn't let me add a note on the video itself.

actually it's a brilliant idea. those black pegs are getting loose and do not keep the door

Thanks I appreciate it! I always hated the plastic pegs. They would always end up getting ripped out of the wall.

@Jandmrvrentals, what do you use to fix the wall from the stripped screw holes above the door .

@@liven4happynus115 I recommend using toothpicks and some wood glue to fill the holes. Once it is dry, you can trim the excess toothpick and then reinstall the screws.

Great info! How is it holding up?

Interesting. My 2011 Coleman Bayside doesn't have lower latches and the top latches feed through the oval openings in the door top. Which is even more of a pain

Thanks for watching! There are a few different door styles used over the years depending on brand. This style is typically found on Rockwood and Flagstaff popups with the one piece door. The slide bolt may work on other styles with a little more modification.

I have the exact same door on my popup! Great idea.
The sliding panels on the door don't hold up as the plastic tabs that hold them in place have broken. Any ideas where I can find them or how I could fix them? Couldn't find anything online.

For any parts like that, we usually have to contact the Forest River parts dept. You can email the representative who deals with the popups. Include your trailer info, description of the part or parts needed, and a picture of them. The email for Kathy, the representative, is kswope@forestriverinc.com

The flat metal hinge at the top thats attached to the door and held by the latches, what is it called and where can I get one for my door? This door hasto be fixed

I would consider that the "upper door stow away hinge" on a two-piece door. If the trailer is a Rockwood or Flagstaff, you can email the parts department with a picture of it and your trailers year, make, and model. They have always been very helpful in getting the parts I need. If it's an older trailer or a non forest river product, you may have luck on eBay finding a used door piece that has the hinge attached.

@Jandmrvrentals oh heck no, I just took the hinge off this one, it's driving me nuts haha I just need to find something to screw into the door then get held by the latches. Im on the hunt, thanks for your response!
