- How to fix an uneven roof on a rockwood freedom pop up camper, Mine was off by about 5 inches front to back, and how I adjusted it to get it back level and working again.

My camper is doing same. Have 2001 Thor scamper. Same Goshen system. I hope this will solve my unlevel door that slants to rear. Rebuilt entire new roof. Had guy to put on new broken cable. Door now unlevel. Tks for your video.

Good info, thanks! The 2 piece door on my 2003 Viking legend pop up isn't straight so maybe this is the tweak I'll need to make to get that right!
Hope it helps every popup with a 2 piece door I have ever owned took some work to get right.

Interesting. A pop up is about the only type of camping I haven't dabbled with....
I enjoy it. Much like tent camping without the ground to deal with. Although I do plan to upgrade to an a-frame someday.
Did this work? I was hoping you would crank the popup again to show the result of your adjustments? I have a Palomino Stallion with the same issue.
Worked in my case. There are a few issues that can cause door problems. Check the frame mounts near the door also. The beds can cause it to pull away and pop the door. This ended with my roof being level after adjustment.
I need to get one of these pop up campers.
what can I use to remove the old grease from the lift system?.. Do you think Zep purple degreaser would work fine?
I usually use brake cleaner to clean off grease, careful around paint. Only lube what needs it and use a dry lube where you can. Dirt plus Grease becomes sandpaper on the underside of a camper.
@@Ambohouse Thank you for the quick response. Do you know a way to remove the old grease that's pump in with the grease gun?.. Can I just keep pumping new grease in to push old grease out?
Just add a little it should pump in new. Most places that have a zerk fitting for a grease gun are sealed

Later reply.. my applogies ... it should be adjusted so the roof is level.. front to back.. it will loosen and righten with the crank.

My pulley on back is not turning. Seems frozen,,,anyway to free her up??,,maybe some heat ??
Would try a penetrating oil first like pb blaster.. grab it on the edges with some channel locks and work it back and forth.. once it is free you will need to add some heavy type of oil or grease to it. to keep it moving free.. those catch a lot of road grime . Heat would melt the bearing seals

Wish i knew the dimensions of your camper. It looks like mine although mine is not that brand.
Id like to fit a lift system as i find it hard these days to lift roof.
I like the Goshen type as opposed to the jayco type of system!

Its a standard 8ft box type almost all smaller ones are the same size.

My roof will not raise, I though it was the battery but it's charged.
Not a expert on the electric lift systems but check the limit switches on the winch. I believe that is the most common problem with them.
You solved the result of your problem, but didn't fix the problem. That adjustment bolt is going to pull through the frame and you're going to have yourself a much bigger problem. You need to reinforce the frame where the adjustment bolt attaches.
It's one of the things I plan to watch. If I find it pulling in anymore I'll break out the welder and add some plate to it.
I dont think I caught your solution. Did that fix the problem? I have a Viking popup which I believe is the same manufacturer. Same issue. Really tough getting my door in place. Noticed my roof was unlevel. Did you lower the roof all the way back down before adjusting?
I have a Pop up I recently purchased, and the rear of mine is bent also, just like yours, I'll have to do the same thing you did to fix my uneven roof also, thanks for posting the video
