I just wanted to let you two know that I think it's really cool that you include the sunrise/sunset and temps for the day in your videos. It's interesting to see the difference from your place and where I am in Michigan.
Young people you created a little paradise over there! I could not imagine that you can grow such a different kinds of vegetables in Alaska! You are such a great couple in every possible way. Wishing you all the best for now and for the future!
I’m Off Grid in Hawaii... but I learn sooo much from watching you guys.... motivates me to keep trying new ideas and become more self reliant in this crazy Time!
You picked a good day to burn. Even the ashes add something to the soil. I sure hope your bees do well this winter - it is always so nice to see them in spring. I was so excited to see how well your brussels sprouts did! And your supper had me drooling of course. Love you two and really appreciate that you share your lives with us.
Sorry. Tree-huggers have nothing to do with the wild fires. This has been caused, in large part, by poor federal land management and the unwillingness of the utility companies to upgrade their equipment and systems. Cost is tens of billions of $$s but worth it in the long term. I live in the Bay Area and can attest to a major decline in air quality for about 8 million people. Scary to think of the long-term health affects.
BeckyP InCalifornia look up deborah tevaraz. Your wild fires are a combination of chemtrails falling to the ground and trees taking the barium/aluminum up in the root systems. Then add drought caused by weather warfare and direct energy weapons and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. It’s all planned and orchestrated and you guys are the lab rats.
My Favorite way to prepare Brussel sprouts is to half them into a cast iron pan, season with ground black pepper, Kosher salt, Garlic powder and olive oil. Roast in oven until there is a char on most leaves. They are awesome!
You two are master gardeners, master chefs, and masters at living life at its fullest! Thank you for sharing and teaching all of us how to do the same. ♥️
You might want to use your favorite search engine to see what it takes to be a master chef. It's probably way harder than you know. Google or whatever you use and see how many cooking positions you have to master to become a Master Chef, These folks do seem to be highly competent in the kitchen, however you have to be tested and certified by the CIA(Culinary Institute of America) with a 10 day test at a Culinary School which you must pass. When I started Chefs training, there were only 12 Master Chefs in the entire United States, and they were all European. The first American born Master Chef was Certified in the 1970's, if my memory serves me well? No, I am not talking about the TV program, Master Chef, which is doubtful if any of the "winners" are actual Master Chefs. I am talking about Master Chefs certified by the American Culinary Federation. Google it. Is this too much info? Great video! One real easy trick to help with the condensation! Raise the rear of the hive a little (3/4-1”). Then what condensation, if any, that does form on the top of the inside covers will run to the front, down and out of the entrance or through the screen bottom board. It won’t be dripping down on the cluster which is a death sentence in the winter no matter where you’re at. Good luck with it and keep up the great work!
A make shift roof for your hives will help a ton! I have a very similar set up, and always struggled with winter survival until recently. I also insulate in teh same way. Also, I took a piece of sheet metal that I can tie down over my two hives, at a slant so water flows off and away from the hives, and i haven't had any issues with moisture since. Highly recommend it.
I lived in the Scottish Highlands during part of my childhood. As I get older I get less nostalgic for those rapidly shortening days at this time of year as you begin to prepare yourself for winter (mentally and otherwise). Of course, the flip-side is the glory of almost perpetual daylight in summer, especially when you're a kid and can just step out into it no matter how late you stay up or how early you wake. But the winters are a heavy price to pay. Long after I left the Highlands I had reason to spend a lot of time in Scandinavia - sometimes well up into the Arctic circle - on work-related trips, and it always felt a bit like going home. However, delving into the history and traditions of the people who have the deepest and longest connection to those latitudes in Europe, the Sami, leaves one with few illusions about the harsh and unforgiving realities of such geographies. If you equate an easy life with a good life, it's definitely not the place to be!

@@OrangeDiamond33 Insulating a hive is a great idea. Either with bought 'bee cozys' or improvised. Anything to reduce the heat loss will reduce their honey consumption, which means less water being released into the hive and water/cold combination kills bees.
@@OrangeDiamond33 I know that bumble bees are able to thermoregulate/generate their own heat which allows them to functions at temps other insects can't. I think honey bees may bee the same. (ref Bernard Heinrich "In a patch of fireweed")

Sitting in NYC, I love your channel content. Fun to see Alaska and a young couple enjoying nature. Awesome images and amazing pets,. Binged the entire series so far👌🏾🌼🌼
Your dog is hilarious. He is in the middle of the camera with the look of why are you guys bothering me. lol
I really like the idea of putting up a structure over the beehives to keep the snow off and excess moisture.
From Kenya love watching you
Jambo!
when the food started sizzling, I could almost smell it from here! Looks delicious
Hi Arielle! Hope you can also do a video about homesteading and off grid living as a woman, like how you deal with feminine products and things like that. Hope you two have a great week :)
That dinner looked awesome! Hunting season opens here in Florida for modern gun in November and I'm hopeful there will be venison in our freezer. Looks like those greens used as grape leaves turn out great. Thumbs up for you all even the chickens. 🙂
Highlight of my weeeeek!!
We so enjoy watching you two kids. Your garden is awesome, you tow definitely have green thumbs. Your are a great team together. Thank you for sharing Alaska and your lives with us. We are from the lower 48, in Mid Missouri.
lets hope they will "bee" okay
im sorry ... lol
Pretty gay.
You guys are the bees knees of off-grid living..
Que imagens lindas de lugares lindos, parabéns ótimo trabalho amigos, legal,
Such respect for what you two do
On the show ALASKA’S LAST FRONTIER, they wrap quilts around their bee hives for the winter
That sounds like a gay idea
@@OrangeDiamond33 Insulating a hive is a great idea. Either with bought 'bee cozys' or improvised. Anything to reduce the heat loss will reduce their honey consumption, which means less water being released into the hive and water/cold combination kills bees.
Gonna GetYa Since bees are insects and produce no heat whatsoever I’m curious what heat you’re preventing them from losing.
@@OrangeDiamond33 I know that bumble bees are able to thermoregulate/generate their own heat which allows them to functions at temps other insects can't. I think honey bees may bee the same. (ref Bernard Heinrich "In a patch of fireweed")
Matt Very interesting. I’ll have to check that out.
Your topic's are so interesting, I feel like I'm learning when I watch you on RUclips. I appreciate how you explain what you are doing 👍😊. Thank you so much for the enjoyment sharing your lives with me.
Alright. Just stop. Make enough dinner for all of us or none at all. I could taste the moose meat wrap filling from here.
You guys have the most perfect channel.....full of life and love and humor. I can’t fathom how hard some of your life is but you show us a whole lifestyle that most of us only dream of! I sure hope that I find a video here that shows how you guys started this wonderful, beautiful life!!
I want their version of 2020....😕
Every time I watch your videos I get hungry. Your recipes look so good and healthy. You should write a cookbook. Hope your bees find the clover you will plant. I think clover honey is the best. Blessings to you both
When I first saw the title I thought oh no someone fell and hurt themselves then I started to watch the video and realized you ment the season fall glad I was wrong.
I did the same thing!
Karen Frantz Lol
I thought the very samw thing.
me too but then I thought it was because Im from Australia but am pleased when I realized it was a season rather than an actual "fall"- lol
Wow you guys are on top of things for winter prep! I love seeing the different chores you have throughout the year! It's kinda interesting because it's like you guys have your own calendar. Its canning season, winter prep, project season, berry season, mushroom season! These are all things I've heard you say and it's all true. Instead 4 seasons you have like 20 Haha
Great job and I can't wait to see more ❤
"I'm adding some half n half bc i'm melting some mozzarella in"

Watching you guys has helped me to think about how i want to live my life.
Thanks a lot guys.
God bless both of you.
"Salve" is pronounced "sav", kiddos.
It depends where you from, he pronounced it ok to me that’s what we call it in the UK lol everyone is different
Interesting, it is saLve in New Zealand too.
Yeah I didn't know what they were talking about until he defined the word. It's 'sav' in my dictionary too!
@@llamafromspace That is so weird who knew lol. I've never heard it pronounced that way.
No it’s not. Very dependant on where you are from. SaLve here in australia
I love watching you two cook!! It's so inspiring to see how you use your food. :)
Not to be too critical, but salve is pronounced "sav" or "sahv". no L. I still really like your videos though. :)
I looked it up... As I thought you were correct... But apparently either pronunciation is correct.
I just went to dictionary.com. Not a big deal folks. Just an observation. I didn’t see that salve was correct. You two are very hard-working individuals. Keep up the great videos.
@Julie Chave oxford dictionary
@Julie Chave sorry I've been working and driving but if you look up the American pronunciation guide it is pronounced without the l in America and with the l in England
Love chantrelles! You have become so professional in your use of video and drone footage, and your eye for the beauty of Alaska is impecable. Thank you for sharing.

As well as mice and voles.
You two do so much it’s amazing.
I can't put my finger on why I think your videos are so addictive. Thank you.
Enjoy your harvesting, and then your meal preparations. I salivate every time, almost smelling the essence of your cooking. But, you both work so hard - take a load off; sit down, relax, and enjoy your meals, and reflect on your amazing fruits of labor. You got it! You guys rock!
I have NEVER in ALL my 55 year's EVER seen vegetables get that big !! That is just AMAZING !! :)
Great video guys. You make everything look so smooth by communicating and working together so well. I’m really looking forward to seeing a healthy couple of hives next spring so that by mid summer there’ll be a bit of home grown honey harvested. Stay safe
